If I could remember who it was, I’d buy it back in order to burn it. This is the kind of baloney being taught at a seminary(!) in Saint Louis. Mrs. Meek (at least last year) teaches LOGIC! I chose one star to rate it only because zero was not an option. |
A long time member and antagonist of the Mark Helprin e-group, we just learned that Gil passed away in January. I’m sure he’s up there somewhere grinning at the knowledge that his whack at Esther Lightcap Meek just reached a few thousand new eyes.
Rest in Peace, Gil.
Have you read it, Kate? I’m curious since judging by the other reviews it might actually be interesting. I know there is a pile of crap to sift through at seminary–I had to deal with “Liberation Theology” for exqample during my stint at the seminary and you can find its effect on simple parish priests and what they preach at mass. Pure Marxism.

I suppose I could add that the road that led to the creation of SDA began on the Helprin list, with the posting of a link to the WSJ Opinion Journal featuring one of his political essays, and from there, to Best of the Web and my discovery of the blogosphere.
Gil was one of the personalities who kept the place rockin’ and the lefties in perpetual indignation.
Esther will be happy to know that zero is not an option.
I must confess I never heard of Gil Garger but anyone who “who kept the place rockin’ and the lefties in perpetual indignation” has my respect. RIP my good man.
