“Well, our job is to bash the president”

Silly me. I thought that journalists were supposed to report the news, not bash the President. Shows you what I know. I can’t help but wonder, though, if Evan Thomas and his fellow ink-stained wretches were laboring under the “Awwww..he’s such a scamp” exception from 1992 to 2000.”

  1. The Americans are always true to their Country beyond who happens to be in the seat of power.
They are Americans first and foremost with extreme
pride in their Country. Patriotism reigns supreme.
Canada is somewhat different. We have some very different political divisions.
Can anyone imagine any State in the Union threatening to separate and blackmailing to get their ‘way’?

  2. Well, the scibbling wretches are the defacto house of reps or parliamentary opposition doncha know!….unless of course there is a left wing regime where by they revert to the official media wing of the aministration….just ask Don Newman Suzie Dalacour..they’ll tell ya…yeah! ;-0

  3. Hey you know what, at least he’s honest. At least he’s not so self-delusioned that he thinks he’s actually being objective.

  4. As it is there are two main ingredients in what we call newspapers, one is news and the other is opinion of course superior to both of them is the space in between.
It seems that the news is not given as news. Those who write news would like to digest it, then regurgitate it and spit it out on the pages of a paper so the poor bastard that read it don’t have to think about it anymore, it’s a done deal altogether with opinion and conclusion.
During communism in Eastern Europe the news was censored. There were always two components to a news article. First there was brief news in a sentence or two in bold leters, which was surprisingly true most of the time. Then the other larger part of news story was ideological slant to kind of get you to think in the right socialist context. Sometime you could derive the truth from the first part and then reduce the second part less ideology. Now you had a pretty good idea what happened along with the ancillary information. The journalists were excellent, 100 % professional; they knew how to write in such a way so you could decipher it.
Those who write for news in North America seem to do it in a way that more ideology in news the better. It is very difficult to know what the news is, because those who mine it are doing really bad job of it, seems they are lazy. They may be pushed by the editors, thought that is no excuse for bad news. If they get the sensation/sensation that is all they need.
    Sorry, enough already.

  5. Most of the MSM journalists to day report the news not as it happens but as they want it to be. So fiction writers would be closer to the real job discription. Like Al Gores pre- concieved truth film, very little fact but lots of wonder.

Clinton’s record was so outstanding (eight years of unprecedented peace and prosperity combined with debt repayment) that he didn’t need a free ride.

  7. Clinton’s record was so outstanding (eight years of unprecedented peace and prosperity combined with debt repayment) that he didn’t need a free ride.
And it was on his watch that Al Quaida declared war on the west.

During Clinton’s term he failed at every turn to address the terrorist threat facing America. As a result of his utter negligence we now stand at the precipice of another world war.
Perhaps if he had of spent less time F$#$’ing interns and carried-out his presidential duties we would not be in this mess today.

Bill O’Reilly on his FOX Factor program this evening decribed MSM in the USA as “corrupt”.
Precisely because of the obvious left wing bias of their news coverage.
If that is the case in the US, where on earth does that put Canadian media corruption scale?
We don’t have an O’Reilly on FOX equivalent source in Canada to even think such a thought let alone express it out loudly.
    Pity!

  10. I recall raeding in TIME Magazine about terrorist camps run by the PLO. This was 1967-68. How many presidents ago was that?
Not that I’m defending any US leader, but it seem we humans have a very adept sense that let’s us sleep at night, and walk alone downtown.
We also use this same sense to stuff our mouths, with food, and chemicals we KNOW are bad for us. We also SMOKE various plant products that are implicated in numerous illness, and syndroms.
    It’s called DENIAL!
Th one attribute that keeps us from pulling the trigger on our empty, modern, “desperate houswives” lives.
It keeps us going..fighting the good fight.
…..I’m afraid I’ve lost track of where I was going…….
    🙂

  11. clinton the guvner of arkansas sold prisoners’ blood to the naive people of canada and the world. many many thousands of people, chinese hemophiliac children, canadian blood tranfusions to name a very few…I SPIT on bill clinton

  12. The real measure of ignorance within the MSM is that, as more and more of them become truthful as to how they actually tend to their trade, they seem to not realize that they are singing their Swan Song.

  13. “Clinton’s record was so outstanding (eight years of unprecedented peace and prosperity combined with debt repayment) that he didn’t need a free ride.”
    This is sarcasm, right?

  14. And to think that the US msm is all gungho for clinton’s wife. Altho, watching Pelosi for the next 2 yrs might wake people up to how inept a woman can be with power. Also funny that the muslim congressman was elected with no mention of his religion. But, Rommey’s religion is being blasted all across the msm. The left would vote for Bin Laden before they would vote for a morman.
