The Inconvenient Nashville Electric Bill

I’m as shocked by this as you are:
Gore’s mansion, [20-room, eight-bathroom] located in the posh Belle Meade area of Nashville, consumes more electricity every month than the average American household uses in an entire year, according to the Nashville Electric Service (NES).

  1. Wait until The Goreacle gets exposed for all his flights in private jets.
Maybe Babs is paying the bill for those hot air credits whenever she donates her Gulfstream to him.
    Just maybe eh ??

  2. Should we be surprised?
There is ABSOLUTELY no difference between hypocrisy and liberalism, as in Al Gore liberalism, or the Liberal Party of Canada liberalism.
It’s no different than the founders of Google claiming they have a low carbon footprint. Ha ha ha. Were it not for all those evil fossil-fuel burning capitalist companies wanting to advertise their goods, where would Google be?

  3. Yes, but remember how he manages to ‘assuage his guilt’? He buys ‘indulgences’. He purchases carbon credits from those places which use little energy. What does this actually mean?
It means that in the world run by the Kyoto Religion, only the rich can have sufficient energy. The rich can use as much energy as they need for their mansions, their limousines, their private jets, their entertainments and so on – without any sacrifices whatsoever. All it takes is money to flip to the poor-in-energy-use.
The Kyoto Religion of the socialist leftists is heavily class-based. There are the rich, who use all the energy they want – and pay ‘sin-money’ to the poor, who cannot afford to pay for energy. The poor, of course, have to sacrifice; they can’t afford the high cost of green energy, they can’t afford the expensive ‘energy-saving’ new technological equipment; they can’t afford the extra taxes on energy systems; and they certainly can’t afford to pay sin-money.
But- that’s what the Kyoto Religious cultists have set up; a class-based society. The rich and the poor. The rich get all the energy they need, and assuage their guilt with sin-money. The poor are deprived of energy – and watch while the Kyoto cultists insist that their taxes be spent, not on our own country’s needs, but are sent to ‘other countries’ – as sin-money.

  4. And I wonder if Algore purchases high-quality carbon offsets (to use Suzuki’s favourite excuse) for all that fossil-fuel consumption.
Of course if he did, he’d find a way to stick the poor middle-class sods in society with bill.

  5. A perfect source of renewable energy would be a hybrid engine.
The fuel would be derived from Al’s body fat, plus you could hook up a turbine to his mouth.
    Hmmm… I smell a Photoshop contest in there…

  6. I feel like I’m the only sober guy at a temperance meeting.
Heck, I’m in favour of global warming and I can’t hold a candle to that guy.

  7. ET: “Yes, but remember how he manages to ‘assuage his guilt’? He buys ‘indulgences’.”
Just because gore is peddling guilt doesn’t mean he has any himself. Does anyone think that he hasn’t made a sh*t load of money already on this scam? Sometimes you gotta put on a show for the marks.

  8. Meanwhile, McChimp lives in a tree house. …-
Bush Crawford House is Super Green
    Ecological Design Center
Is it possible that George Bush is a secret Green? Evidently his Crawford Winter White House has 25,000 gallons of rainwater storage, gray water collection from sinks and showers for irrigation, passive solar, geothermal heating and cooling. “By marketplace standards, the house is startlingly small,” says David Heymann, the architect of the 4,000-square-foot home. “Clients of similar ilk are building 16-to-20,000-square-foot houses.” Furthermore for thermal mass the walls are clad in “discards of a local stone called Leuders limestone, which is quarried in the area. The 12-to-18-inch-thick stone has a mix of colors on the top and bottom, with a cream-colored center that most people want. “They cut the top and bottom of it off because nobody really wants it,” Heymann says. “So we bought all this throwaway stone. It’s fabulous. It’s got great color and it is relatively inexpensive.”…-

  9. Kevin I’m with you. It’s time to start a Canadians for Global Warming movement. What thinking Canadian doesn’t want more global warming? Are there really Canadians who want the temperatures to go down?

  10. I can understand why, though. With such a big home he’s probably worried someone will try to force their way inside and steal his belongings. And what’s a better deterent than leaving your lights on in a few rooms while you’re out? I typically leave the light in my kitchen on when I go out for the evening. In fact I’ve been known to leave it (and the television) on for whole weekends at a time.
I’ve got this neverending stream of water gurgling out of the base of a hydro pole in front of my house that is causing damage to my driveway. Often times I’ve wondered if that isn’t a symptom of global warming.

  11. As with all products and services once they are made illegal or severely rationed only those with connections or money can afford to live the live to which they have become accustomed.
In this case an enormous amount of energy is used but they transfer the wealth….this isnt what 99% of the people will experience. They will not be able to afford to send money to another country, as abstract as that will be. It will mean less of everything.
A permanent and significant reduction in wealth and properity under this hairbarained scheme.
    Al wont see the contradiction….

  12. The layers of lies & deceit that the IPCC and its mouthpieces like The Goreacle & Dr. Fruit Fly have been spouting are being peeled back, one layer at a time.
So the IPCC uses selective data to prove that the last ten years have been the warmest on record. Peer review of the selective data confirms it.
Then those of the curious mind ilk look at ALL the data and low & behold, it was warmer in the 1930-40’s.

  13. All the time that Albert F. Gore Jr. (there’s a silver spoon name…) was on stage last night I kept wondering how many limos were idling in the parking lot ready to take the great ones back to their shabby 15,000 sq. ft. homes.

  14. I think the worm has turned. Al Gore’s Oscar win marks the apex, the summit. We have achieved Peak Snake Oil.
Watch for these phoney buggers to start getting the scrutiny they deserve. Hell it’s already started.
Leftards be warned…it’s all downhill from here.

  15. And where I live, the CBC 12 hour forecast was quite inaccurate. If they can’t get the LOCAL WEATHER right for fewer than 12 hours, how do they think they can predict the GLOBAL CLIMATE for the next century?
These people live in Never Neverland. They’re like the pirates.

  16. Brian, Exactly what I was thinking last nite. Would be a few city blocks of limos sitting idling away, waiting to take the “Elite” onto their decident parties. They announced at one point that these Academy Awards were the “greenest” ever staged. I cant figure out how they were any “greener” than the past ones? It all comes down to the same thing as was said before, “garbage in, garbage out”.

  17. So let me see. From what I understand here is how Kyoto works.
I am an obese woman who weighs 650 pounds. I have just eaten a chocolate syrup coated, slathered with caramel syrup, smothered with nuts and layered with cherries, six scoops of ice cream sundae. But I don’t have to worry about my weight or health because I have just bought, for a few hundred dollars, some carb credits from some third world country where most of the people just eat rice and weighs about 65 poounds soaking wet on a good day. Boy I feel better already, get me the croissants dripping with butter I have a few bucks left in my pocket.

  18. Anyone know what suzukis power and gas bill run up to. Is there a gas station worker that will inform us of how many litres of gas he used/day with that big green bus of his. He had to fill up somewhere in Alberta. Some waitress must know what he ate and if he tipped.
Can you imagine the chaos if Gore was president in 2009 and Dion our PM. Let’s see, gore invented the internet, Love Story was based on his life, and he warned over 10 years ago that the earth only had 10 years left before armegedon. Now he is saying we have 10 yrs left. That means he has also invented a way to increase the hours in a day, from 24 to 48. Man that guy is smart.

  19. Weird how Hollywood and the U.N. behaviors seem to compliment each other. The greatest offenders speak the loudest and sit on the commitees to deal with the issues of which they are the greatest offenders. The strongest supporters of the Canadian healthcare monopoly are the first to leave for the U.S. when faced with a “wait list”.

  20. Is there a copy of this bill that we can all see, or is this just more right-wing bull as usual? It’s the same sort of bull and disinformation we see flowing from Harper and his minions every day.

  21. Frances from 10:34 —
Absolutely wonderful analogy – hilarious and very worthy of accolades. Thanks for the witty comment. That’s why I come here.
    And as for albatros39a,
Well you just can’t reason with stupid, so I wouldn’t dream of trying.

  22. Albatros you are back with your different opinions.Im to be more like an easterner with my analogys from now on, not a proud Alberta cowboy. But anyway once again you are causing trouble, and you could be wrong, these people that think like Mr. Layton sometimes mislead people like yourself.

No that’s not how it works. This is how it works using your analogy.
Ok so you weigh 650 lbs, and you’re a drain on the healthcare system. So to make yourself “carb neutral” you buy gym memberships for other people that would save those people from using the equivalent amount of healthcare that you would by being a big fat lazy slob. You could save all the cost to yourself, and to those that have to pay for your excesses, simply by not being a glutton, going on a diet and living a healthy lifestyle.

It won’t make any difference to the marks … they aren’t going to get any less perplexed.

  25. Somebody suggested that Al Gore be exposed. Who’s going to do it though? CNN? any of the big three? Fox?, you’d think, but have they? Sure, we read this on a blog and we understand they’re hypocrites, but that isn’t getting the message out to where it belongs. That would be up to the MSM. And that ain’t going to happen is it? Can you imagine Larry King doing an hour exposing the Eco-Left? You think any MSM in Canada has the balls to question Suzuki? A radio talk show host does and he walks out. And the only media that discusses that story are other radio talk show hosts. I think Suzuki has the power to snap his fingers and people get fired at CBC. But exposing them is the answer. Somehow we have to snap people out of that trance they get into when in the presence of the Prophets. Did you see the look in the eyes of the actors when Gore spoke last night? I’m not sure how we get through to the masses but it’s urgent we do. The more they’re questioned the quieter they become.

Different opinions? Causing trouble? Is speaking your mind and having the opposite (and I’d add, better informed) opinion what you call causing trouble? Is that what this forum is all about, one single homogenous mindset with everyone nodding in mind numbing unison like a bunch of conservative zombies? Come on, that would be like reading the Calgary Sun or National Post every day, you’d start losing the capability of independent thought.
And Layton? Who listens to Layton, he’s nothing more than an opportunist nut bag that would sell out his own mother for a sniff of political power.

  27. I was looking for any sign of a Prius last night but alas, could not locate one at the Oscars.
albatros39a..no disrespect to you but the pedestal you have placed yourself on (“and I’d add, better informed”) is set a little too high.
As for “Is that what this forum is all about, one single homogenous mindset with everyone nodding in mind numbing unison” the answer is no. That forum belongs to the “better informed” people who have culled all they need to know from Gores mockumentary.

  28. albatros you completely phoney three dollar bill!!
You refer to “speaking your mind and having the opposite opinion” a problem? You are the phoney who will not give one of an “opposite” opinion the opportunity to go in front of a gathering of students(including your own children) to present facts that differ from what you believe. You would certainly give the opportunity to Suzuki so long as he spewed the drivel you agree with. Don’t you dare come forward with your arguement. Read what you just wrote. Now relate that back to the back-and-forth you, Yoop and I had about Suzuky in Calgary. There is no way you would want anyone to be in front of children speaking about the “other side of this issue”
Too bad, albatros39a or whatever. You have been found out. Like my old buddy, the Tiger once said, “you’re done like dinner”. Down for the count – fight is over – time for you to go into retirement. What a completely loooooooooser!!!

So much for your right wing bull and disinformation theory. Perhaps you may want to rethink your spew “It’s the same sort of bull and disinformation we see flowing from Harper and his minions every day.” and free your mind from your prejudiced thoughts and open to other possibilities. Looks like your convincing strategy hinges on left vs right.

That Kyoto is a scam goes without saying. But calling it a “socialist” scam? Give me a break. It’s purely a scam thought up by the rich, because only the rich will benefit from it.

  33. albatrso – I have a proposition for you. Lets stage a debate. Here is what I propose. The setting will be an elementary school with all students present. All parents of the school will be invited. The rules of the debate will be agreed upon by both sides at the beginning. The topic will be “Global Warming: What are the causes” – who is to blame”?
So, albatros – who is your guy? Suzuki? Not likely. He, like you, has no interest in hearing the other side of the issue. Is this the same albatros who, earlier on this forum, wrote ” Different opinions? Causing trouble? Is speaking your mind and having a different opinion what you cal having trouble” Care to explain that one alby?

  34. When did I ever want “peer review articles”? You can quote till your ass is sore for all I care. All I ever asked of you was for the other side of the issue to be able to make its case. We have all the shit you and your ilk has to give. Now, will you agree to let the other side of the issue be presented to elementary school students? Suzuki go to do his schtick. What is your answer, alby?

  35. Bob I’ve already told you that Suzuki was invited to give a speech on global warming, not a debate.
Now you would probably support sending somebody into an elementary school to teach the children the dangers of sexual predators wouldn’t you? If so, do you think Nambla should be given equal time, it’s an opposing view right? Well I hope you wouldn’t support it Bob.
Now, I provided peer-reviewed articles supporting man made global warming. Now you supply me with peer-reviewed articles that state global warming isn’t man made.

  36. albatros – just google “global warming myths”. You will have reading for a lifetime. This is the end of the road for me albatros. Keep up what you are doing. You will eventually convince those who are not yet, that you are a complete idiot. No one can do it better than you. Good-bye!

  37. Bob said-
When did I ever want “peer review articles”?
My mistake, that was for that Yoop guy.

  38. And how about that principal of the elementary school in Calgary who invited Suzuki to rant like a man possessed. Should kids be exposed to that kind of message? If he went there and, at their level, spoke to them about the environment, fine. But was that the place to criticize the Alberta gov. And if you’ve heard Suzuki you know he can get nasty. So does this principal feel this was an appropriate message for ten year olds? Or does the principal have certain political leanings? Hmmm.

  39. He also wanted articles about Polar Bears and global warming, so here it is.
Observations of mortality associated with extended open-water swimming by polar bears in the Alaskan Beaufort Sea

  40. It is my understanding that Suzuki and Gore both have standing invitations to a GW debate. For years now. They won’t because they would be humiliated from the get-go by the likes of any of the following;
    Dr. Patrick Moore
    Bjorn Lomborg
    Terence Corcoran
    Peter Foster
    Dr. Tomothy Ball
    Lorrie Goldstein
