The Six Fundamentals Of Womynhood

“I have witnessed women living without what is fundamental… “

Now, before clicking the link, see if you can name those six things….

  1. I’m sure if you ask the author of that chock-full of nuts sentence, she would gladly declare that the REAL threat to those fundamentals is George Bush, NOT Islam.
    Hmmmmmm….

  2. And follow the link trail and read about the Vagina Warriors, courtesy of Eve Ensler (Founder/Artistic Director, V-Day; playwright, “The Vagina Monologues”)
    Cheers

  3. Let’s read the sentence that goes before that one:
“I have seen first-hand the scars of brutality – black eyes, cigarette-hole burns in arms and legs, a melted face, bruises, slices and broken bones.”
And the one that comes after it:
“I have been there when skulls washed up on riverbanks and naked mutilated female bodies were discovered in ditches.”
Now let’s make fun of some deluded feminatzi’s who come up with words like “Vagina Warrior’s”.
    I’ll start:
If she loves womyn so much maybe she should tell that to my Dad, who didn’t get a government job because they’re all being handed out to feminatzis, and stay-at-home mom’s getting paid to write poetry about how hard done by they are.
    Hi-fives!

  4. The irony of those who despise violence against woman, and claim to defend and ’empower’ women are the same that promote abortion and prostitution as choice…

  5. It’s an amazing world that we live in and women have certainly been and are being treated worse than the lowest animal in the farm yard.
Interesting flow to the writing in the link.

  7. “I have witnessed women living without what is fundamental… ”
    My guesses…
    1) Unlimited and free access to abortion.
    2) Government subsidies to buy candles to attend all of them vigils.
    3) A legal system that grants them whatever they want to claim are “rights” without responsibilites.
    4) Government hand-outs (or jobs) in place of a work ethic – to make things fair.
    5) Role-models like Rosie O’Donnell to help them get in touch with their inner-lesbian.
    6) Any NOW/SOW-type organization to look out for them.
    I was waaayyyyy off.

  8. Feminist lefties are running out of things to whine about. Thank god for global warming otherwise the MSM would have Clitoris’s on every front page. Will Belinda ever get to be the Minister of the Status of Vagina Warriors?

  9. Sexual Marxism, which created the disingenuous class struggle against pecieved sexual inequity in constitutional democracies through confrontational gender politics, is an old hakneyed canard that only attracts the most self loathing and angry in society….at this late date in radical Gender politics, as the extremist old dogmas are widely disregarded as the politics of the sexually maladjusted , there is little or no concrete civil injustice to be outraged over in western democratic culture…. we now see the political premises for sexual outrage becoming truely banal and the “activists” devolving into rediculous buffoons as they move their outrage to a personal dislike of the customs of other nations and cultures in a lame attempt to export sexual Marxism to other cultures…..I mean really…”vagina warriors”???? Why not “Pap smear revolutionaries? Abortion guerrillas ….makes as much sense 😉

  10. Stephen, I think you’re the only one who got the message. Female circumcision is prevalent to a frightening extent in Africa and parts of the middle East, and I think the original poster’s intent was to draw attention to this form of mutilation.

  11. As a start, how about we stop describing those backward, barbaric cultures who practise it as equal to our own, and quit elevating them on some unfounded pillar of primitive virtue.

  12. When I first hitch-hiked in India and what is now Sri Lanka (Ceylon) in 1963, it was not unusual to see children who had been deliberately mutilated so they could become more effective beggars….(limbs broken and reset at odd angles…legs horizontal to hips, breastbones broken so they formed a type of tent, feet twisted so the child could only drag itself…that kinda thing).
A subsequent visit to Sri Lanka, in 1984, indicated none of this, (the ones I saw 21 years earlier undoubtedly had short life expectancies), and I tend to attribute this to globalization, (a low paying job is better than no job).
Female mutilation is admittedly more ‘cultural’, (if one can use the term in this context), than economic, however both practices are rooted in abysmal ignorance, and only education/relative prosperity can defeat them.

  13. Canadian Federal Courts have declared female circumcision a “cruel and barbaric practice.” It is also grounds for refugee status for those that have reason to fear it. As well the practice is illegal in Canada. The problem for leftists is that it is a Muslim cultural practice performed most often in Egypt by the victims mother and aunts. This goes against both the all women are good and the all cultures are equal meme’s that are central to left wing dogma. How can left wingers in the U.N. justify interfering in Egypt to save Clitorises while not interfering in Iraq to save lives?

  14. As the saying goes, the foolish innocent girl caught exposed is offered a choice, gang rape or a smiley. It is supposed to be a well known punishment doing its rounds across cultures.
“The German journalist Udo Ulfkotte told in a recent interview that in Holland, you can now see examples of young, unveiled Moroccan women with a so-called “smiley”. It means that the girl gets one side of her face cut up from mouth to ear, serving as a warning to other Muslim girls who should refuse to wear the veil. In the Muslim suburb of Courneuve, France, 77 per cent of the veiled women carry veils reportedly because of fear of being harassed or molested by Islamic moral patrols.”

  15. And male babies get something similar in this country because…?
    Not pro or con.
    Just sayin is all..

  16. There are various forms of female genital cutting practiced across much of Africa and the Middle East and it is not particular to Islamic culture. Christians, Muslims, Animists and even Ethiopian Jews practice it in one form or another. The most common form is Sunna circumcision in which the clitoral hood is nicked or excised. This is akin to male circumcision which is widely practiced in Africa and the Middle East too. Both practices originated long before Judaism, Christianity and Islam were founded and persist in spite of it.
The fact that male circumcision or genital mutilation is treated as unimportant, even fodder for crude jokes, is indicative of pervasive misandry, i.e., a basic contempt for men in Western society. Cracking dick jokes and circumcision jokes is ok, but see what happens if you make light of female genitals and genital cutting.
To their credit, Northern European countries, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, are moving toward outlawing the non-therapeutic circumcision of boys as it is rightly seen as a violation of a boy’s right to bodily integrity. Girls are already protected by law from genital cutting. Here in Canada, the practice cutting the genitals of newborn boys is becoming far less common as medical and paediatric associations have come to accept there is no medical indication for the routine cutting of newborn boys’ genitals. We can hope that the cutting of the genitals of boys and girls for “cultural” reasons will die out entirely in time.

  17. “there is no medical indication for the routine cutting of newborn boys’ genitals.”
That’s a crock. Ask any competent urologist who has had to perform an adult male circumcision. Then ask him why he had to do it.
Further, check out epidemiology reports from Africa on transmission rates for STD’s including HIV.
    You lose.

  18. My six were: Food/water, shelter, clothing, safety, access to a support group (family/friends) and education.
I wasn’t far off since parents fits into support group and safety covers the clitoris.
But I can’t figure out sky. In my thinking, it falls under safety and support group since the only way you wouldn’t get a sky is if you were being held captive and then you wouldn’t have safety or access to a support group.
Weird way to state fundamentals. Ask a women who is being beaten daily if she’d give up a part of her body in order to end the beatings and she’d probably agree to it. So safety is a better fundamental than a single body part.

  19. From what I remember of it, the second largest Somali community, outside of Mogadeshu is Toronto. Circumcision is common among the Somali and when references to stopping it in Toronto were voiced, riots were threatened.
Comparing male circumcision to female circuicision is like comparing a hair cut to a scalping.
It’s a barbaric custom that involves not only the REMOVAL of the clitoris but quite frequently the stitching up of the vagina, allowing only a small opening for urination and menses functions.
Barbaric stone age swine that do it in the name of God.
Kill ’em all, let God sort ’em out.

  20. “Comparing male circumcision to female circuicision is like comparing a hair cut to a scalping.” Pat @ 2:05pm
Well put my friend. Without getting into the pro/con debate about male circs, there is no reason what so ever for a female ritual butchery. Western civilization still has a lot to learn about their fellow humans of this planet.

  21. The correct term is female genital mutilation. That phrase more accurately describes it. Many females die from the complications and/or are sterilised by it.

  22. Years ago, I first heard about the practice of female “circumcision” on the Jane Hawtin talk show. She was,(as I was), repulsed by the idea. If I recall, Jane was quite the feminista in those days…where are they now?
