  1. Is MAURICE STRONG in Mont Tremblant ?? The Maustro and his life long “directives” could be a hot topic. If the MSM reports it. Topics like, Oil For Food, One World Governance, Earth Charter, One World Religion, …….

  2. Is there a cheque in the mail yet? Any cheque? Why not?
    Tax Payers of Canada.
    PS,
Cheques of $450 from Drug cartel interests will be credited against your debts with no questions asked. TG

  3. I noticed the word “accountability” on the Liberal site.
    Talk about delusion.
Only a Liberal zombie will believe there’s ever been such a thing as “Liberal accountability”, which we now know to be an oxymoron.
As “liberal” has come to mean “to help oneself to the goodies, period”, it is mutually exclusive with any kind of “accountability”. This the voters finally, thankfully realized on January 23rd, 2006!
They’re coming to AtCan? Why should I give a f***? It’s about as exciting as Maude Barlow knocking on my door and trying to recruit me to the blind faith of leftism…
Why do they still bother? Talk about a lost non-cause…

  4. Oh, and I also believe that, keeping in line with that famous Liberal logic, the failure of the Party’s website to show the faces of the contenders is indicative of both embarrassment on the part of the Party at the poopy quality and caliber of those offering to head them up and of the hidden agenda of the LPC.

  5. People, people…it’s a joke, and a good one. There’s no need for the “this is evidence of further corruption” line of argument.
It’s a joke. You don’t need funny sh!t like this to prove liberal corruption, there’s enough real evidence that you don’t need to turn ‘jokes’ like this into ‘proof’.
    Sheesh.

  6. The LPC is disgraced in Canada.Anyone who would still condone the lies, mismanagement, divisiveness, hate and fear-mongering,dithering,and theft that occured under this party’s guidance by continuing to support it now needs to stare in a mirror and ask themselves what kind of person they have become!Actually, forget that suggestion as any die-hard liberal has been lying to themselves as well as the rest of us for so long, they are most likely delusional and incapable of honest introspection.Just look at their current crop of contenders. They seem to have all already reached concensus on at least one new policy point though…Deny the past 13 yrs even happened.Oh yeah, and they all also seem cool with breaking or at least bending the living sh*t out of their”new”political donation guidelines.Business as usual!!
Yes,it is indeed fitting that where our culture associates LIGHT with such things as new ideas, truth and optimism that the party’s owm website shows all their potential new leaders in the DARK!

  7. Good move liberals.
Make it obvious that the candidates are a bunch of nobodies.
That or the website manager figured out too late that they couldn’t do a credible photoshop to paste their pics into the photo.
Just wanted to check with everybody else about one thing though. When I clicked on the link I could swear I smelled beer and popcorn.

  8. The most likely reason for doing this because they are ashamed that that their leadership contest is another middle aged white male sausage party. In other words, the mere thought of featuring 9 white middle aged men on their front page was deemed so inappropriate that they actually went to the trouble of blacking them out. This is part of a (documentable and very real) bigger anti-white male pattern on the Liberal website that has been going on for months.
Between this, Caledonia, and some flat-out anti-white commentary being featured at “Zerb”‘s blog this morning, it appears to be open season on “whitey”, as he is affectionately known at Torstar/”Zerb”‘s blog.

  9. Bob makes an interesting point: “[the Librano] leadership contest is another middle aged white male sausage party.”
Funny, isn’t it, that the party that CLAIMS openness, tolerance, and DIVERSITY (always diversity: the Libs worship diversity), has so little of any of these Canadian virtues and values. Take a look, on the other hand, at the CPC benches and there you’ll see genuine openness, tolerance, and diversity AND a much younger group of MPs, with new and refreshing ideas to move Canada out of its 13-year-old funk, during the tenure of the spin-our-wheels LPC. ‘Funny that, the MSM never remarks on this aspect of the CPC, especially in comparison to the open, tolerant, and diverse (sic) party of THEIR choice.
The silouettes look like cardboard cut-outs. Great message, Libs:
“Vote for one of these guys [and the odd–and I mean, odd–gal] and we’ll give you a cardboard cut-out of A LIBRANO. Seeing as we all think (well, sort of), act, walk, and talk alike, it doesn’t really matter who you vote for. Any one of us will give you the same lousy, unaccountable, thieving government we gave you for 13 years. What a deal!”

  10. “Oh, yeah” continue the Libs, “and an added bonus: Pierre Elliott Trudeau will man, well at least he’ll pull, the puppet strings.”

  11. The Liberal Leadership race, wherein Powder Corp puts their designated puppet on the Natural Governing Party throne (i.e. the Canadian throne). Let’s see, that would be, um, Bob Rae this time, wouldn’t it?
Sorry Iggy. You bring a lot to the table, but in the end you will be found to be too “American-style” and will be carried out of the race on your shield. I have the sense that he is window-dressing meant merely to lend credibility to a process which at its foundation is just a protracted and elaborate annointing ceremony.
See what a strict beer and popcorn diet can do to one’s thinking?

  12. Ted,
we don’t NEED to we WANT to. If you don’t like it, rather than appointing yourself “Kate’s comments monitor” perhaps you should go to another site.

  13. “The two-day conference entitled Progressive Policies, Practical Solutions, focuses on a wide variety…”
Crimina…..er, uh, liberals don’t proof read.
The thieves forgot the word “of” between conference and entitled.

  14. Shaken – Is it Iggy that you would least like to see win the leadership? I expect it would be either him or Dion that would be the most formidable adversary for SH.

  15. Heeyyy….No cardboard cutout women??? What’s going on? I thought the Liberals were the party of inclusion and diversity.

  16. I’ve heard of the “dirty dozen”….are these then the “disillusioned eleven?”
Fitting this is an animated picture though…you can’t tell without time laps photography but the candidates are actually moving as fast as they do in parliment.

  17. Grasshopper, the best candidate for the job apparently doesn’t want it. The former Minister for Democratic Renewal was clearly the best choice.
She clearly would have had the best looking sillouette on the clip-art ensemble. Great shoes too.

  18. A new generation takes over an old tradition.
Queue up the theme from The Sopranos.
“Hey, have some respect. We’re talking about made guys here.”

  19. This reminds me of a time not so long ago when conservatives had no official staus, no leader,no direction and were wallowing lost in a sea of confusing chaos.
If conservative cement-headed wackos can pull one out of the hat it’ll be a cakewalk for dim-witted liberal moonbats.
    Where there’s crisis there’s opportunity.

  20. David, that was such a long, long time ago that everybody’s forgotten about it.
Tom – Shaken is referring to Ms Stronach.

  21. Oh yes David, that process took over ten years to play itself out didn’t it.
    BTW
Your subjective point only reinforces the notion that the LPC will also be in the wilderness for a decade.
Bet you didn’t want to make that admission did you?
Better tell the younger Trudeau to get his house in order before the VRWC finds some dirt on him, else his machinations to get to the big chair will be derailed.

  22. Grasshopper,
Not so long ago. I haven’t forgotten and will continue to remind everyone.
I’m not trying to aid the conservative cause but absolutely the worst thing you can do is to underestimate your opponent and take them too lightly.
Liberalism as an ideology is a very strong force and with the correct honest people leading the cause it will triumph over conservatism any day.
Please remember it was a few corrupt greedy individuals that placed the pall on it. Who ever takes over has to go through with an unforgiving broom and sweep the crap where it belongs…permanently in the garbage.

  23. Shaken thinks that Stronach would have been the best to take over the liberal leadership.
That vacuous tart. Shit even Clinton wouldn’t touch her. Or so she says.

  24. Forum topics to include “Youth and Politics aka – How to Shake Down Kids for Cash” and “Economic Strategies for Recessionary Times aka – Our Scimming and Laundering Operation isn’t Peforming Too Well Since We Got the Keys to Vault Taken Away”

  25. David – I agree with everything you said. I think I always do, actually. I was joking about the long, long time ago, BTW. Good day to all…

  26. The cutout third from right and second from left are flips; and so are the cutouts fourth from right and third from left. They can’t even afford a tenth and eleventh cutout for their stage. How sad. At least they are starting to show some fiscal restraint, or mind you, it might be that no one lets them pay on credit anymore.

  27. gimbol,
I don’t mind making truthful admissions but I honestly don’t think it’ll take a decade.
The CPC has done little to endear themselves other than to be a janitor of the mess. Their loathing of the MSM will come back and bite them in the ass bigtime.
The next election will indicate the long term trend and by that time Liberal corruption will be old news.

  28. Liberalism as an ideology is a very strong force and with the correct honest people leading the cause it will triumph over conservatism any day.
Socialism is a sliding scale back to systems of governing which reduce individual responsibility, and inevitably, individual freedoms. What at first appears to be a safety net quickly becomes a restraining device. The loss of a purely capitalistic society would end the sole attempt in our history to provide mankind with a civilization characterized by equality. A real, live, breathing equality based on equal accomplishment, not a synthetic one ascribed to us falsely by social programs and welfare. If history has taught us anything about the inner workings of society, it is the simple truth that when we provide the masses with a pacifier, they will suck indeed
    Ain’t Liberalism great!

  29. David,
“The next election will indicate the long term trend and by that time Liberal corruption will be old news.”
You are engaged in wishful thinking. The Conservatives will win a majority in the next election: Harper has taken away the Liberal’s only weapon by showing that he is not scary and that he can govern effectively. As for Liberal corruption being old news, we have so far seen the tip of the iceberg. Stay tuned for more revelations.

  30. David Brown :
There are wells of untapped corruption. For Conservatives to mine, for years to come.
You & yours it seems have not come to terms with just how expansive the Culture of Entitlements tentacles slimed?
Not only the heads of departments where criminals, but civil servants where impelled or seduced. In order to suborn the federal bureaucracy. Into a Liberal instrument of graft. Social engendering, the eventual deconstruction of Canadian morals & values. Finally marginalize most of the population into small groups always in conflict using special rights by race, gender, religion, or sexual practice.
Than refashion them into there despotic caste system in order to perpetuate absolute power for themselves(Liberal elite dogmatists).Using the old divide & conquer strategy. A lazy one for lazy minds.
I am sure they felt destroying a nations patrimony. Was a small price for world socialism being forced on a free people.
It all over for Social democracy but the sobbing.
Classical liberalism will survive. Socialism is societal suicide.
So from my point of view. Hell will have a hockey team.
Before you guys recover from the hundreds of scams these crooks plotted.. The 1960’s are over.

  31. O/T: Did any of the PPG attend the garden party hosted at 24 Sussex Dr, by the PM, for the press. I read excuses for not attending-the time was deadline time for reporters.

  32. AdScam Librano$.
    From left to left:
Radwanski, S. Copps, Charles Boyer, Martin/Chretien, Boudria, Boulay, Coderre, Gagliano, Claude Gauthier, Michel Dupuy, Tom Wappel, Gagliano’s son, John Grant … 13 Librano$$$ all in a row.
They can bribe but they can’t hide.
There will be another photo-op Friday, Sat., Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, …-

  33. Two business partners in their Montreal office. Tom peeks out the window while Bob sits at the desk.
    Tom: Shit!
    Bob: What’s the matter?
Tom: It’s that damned fundraiser from the Liberal Party!
Bob: (alarmed) Oh no! Does he have that big one with him? The 6-foot-8 guy who looks like someone took a chainsaw to his face?
Tom: No, he’s alone, in that friggin’ 5 thousand dollar suit. Christ!! He’s getting out of the Cadillac!
Bob: (grabs a brown bag stuffed with cash) I’m not going to get my legs broken over this! Little Debbie can live without braces. My overbite never hurt me… much.
Door opens. In walks an extremely well-dressed man with white hair and a diamond pinky ring. This is Luigi.
Tom: (with a huge smile) Luigi! Damn good to see you! How’s Vito?
Bob: (holding out the brown paper bag. A huge, enthusiastic smile on his face.) My God! It’s wonderful day to be Canadian!

  34. The following is a post I just made at another sda thread, The Information War. I think my comments there are relevant to this post too.
“ET, a great BIG thank you for your clear-headed, knowledgeable analyses time and time again. I believe you hit the nail on the head every time.
“Have you ever considered writing a column for some publication? I’ll bet you have–you’d be great!–but no (well, almost no) ‘self-respecting’ Canadian publication would allow your true diversity of thought and opinion to see the light of day. (Your non PC intelligence would obviously be a strike against you.)
“My forebears were in this country–from Ireland–in 1799. (They’re in the history books, re responsible government.) They left Ireland because of atrophied ways which led to the oppression of whole groups of people, which is why my ancestors fought so hard–politically–to enshrine the rights of the individual. In 2006 Canada, we seem to have come full circle: Ironically, the oppressed now seem to be the progeny of those who bought the freedoms with which certain minorities now beat us over the head.
“Whoops! How dare I say such a thing? I’m now supposed to say I didn’t mean it.
    “But I do.
“And, ET, you make it perfectly clear why Canadians had better wake up and stop being duped.
“P.S. Could your ME thesis explain why the Liberals are imploding? Figuratively–and actually, re their machinations–aren’t they a perfect example of a corrupt, closed system based on tribalism and kinship?”

  35. I have to wonder if it really matters. What we are finally seeing is a government who is doing what it pledged to do.
What we are seeing is a PM, whom like the majority of us, doesn’t own huge companies and are not rolling in the dough.
What we are seeing is no longer the illusion that the liberal way of life…is THE life.
What we are seeing is perhaps, as the parade of worshippers to the Trudeau shrine shows, the ideology of the left is firmly entrenched in the extreme socialist way of life…with a few minor tweaks. A life where suckling at the teat of the almighty govt is a reality….and that “externalized responsibility” is the mantra.
Oh my heterosexual God….have Canadians finally awakened to the fact that our previous path….was actually a path leading nowhere?
The oddness of the left way of thinking is to embrace Canadian culture..as the followers of the CBC espouse…and yet….allow multiculturilism to flourish to the point of…what is Canadian culture anyhow..as we continually seek to appease everyone that comes to this country.
The left…have had it wrong all along.

  36. You know. I tried to help the Libranos. I pointed out some things they could do to regain some of the Canadian voter respect they so urgently need.
There has to be a sort of public apology in the form of selecting out the dozens of most offensive criminals in the party and exposing them to the RCMP for proper and fair recompense.
It would help if Cretien were to spend a little time behind bars for forcing the Development Bank to hand over our monies to his Golfcourse / Hotel buddy.
Liberals have enjoyed an Ivory Tower isolation from us peons for so long, there has been no hint of recognition of these obvious moves that would help them regain their lost respect.
Well, no one can say that I failed to extend a helping hand. I thought there may have been at least some honest and alert liberals somewhere. TG

  37. Name a government free of some corruption, anyone Please!
But find a government that for years took our money and gave it ad firms that did pro bono work during their campaigns and then expected that some of that money be sent to their party, that they should pay liberal party workers and provide them a desk while they worked on behalf of the liberal party. Its the thing of organised crime, they took tax dollars and laundered them into political contributions.
I remember when I was in university studying Canadian a history, during WWII King was confronted with the need for a draft for overseas duty. Canadians units were in need of replacements, Canadians were getting hurt and killed more likely due to a lack of replacements and we were fighting Nazism and Fascism in Europe. King declined to move that forward, because “I am concerned about how it would affect our election after the war and the chance for a majority.” In short, King was prepared to see Canadians killed and wounded in action if it helped get liberals elected after the war.

  38. Iain,
Good point about King. Corruption may well be universal in governments.
There is a question about volume and degree. A question of tastefull minimums and absolute wholesale.
Three and a half years for Guite is a start. Chretien deserves fifteen years, but what do you suppose the silly unspoken tradition will mete out?
    Yeah, I thought so. TG

  39. The Liberals still need to get a grip on spending and waste before they worry about a new Leader. Paul Martin gets another 140 g’s to run his office. Come on. Too bad there is so little difference between politicians. There for the glory and to wade in the public trough, take what they can get, and run. Unfortunately the only party in the house of commons that stays true to its intent is the Bloq. Sad state of affairs one would say.
