Supporters of the Falun Gong are being ordered to take down a protest display outside the Chinese Consulate in Vancouver. Jack Layton is certain to show up to express his solidarity for those oppress … oh, nevermind.
Michael McCullough;

The mainstream media in general had no problem seeing Clinton going to church with a Bible prominently in hand because they knew that it was a phony act calculated to gain sympathy. Clinton talked about his faith, but the press gave him a pass because they knew that it was just a political ploy and that his actions never reflected his talk.

A “secret” NAFTA Super Highway? Sounds like a great idea to me.
Fisking Fisk, Canadian style.
Shaidle;

The “poor” don’t like “foreigners”. They don’t like white, university educated young troublemakers, either. They don’t give a shit about how “oppressed” anybody is. The poor care about cheap smokes, lottery tickets, beer, sleeping, tatoos, big dogs and satellite tv. Leftists are talking exclusively to themselves — that’s part of the fun of watching them drone on and on like this.

  1. MSM uses the dreaded words: Civil War.

  2. Statistics Canada reports:
Canada is an Obese, Fat, Slob of a nation in a survey just released.
This is another in an endless stream of messages from the elites to you-all slobs who dare to call yourself “Canadian”.
In fact, the survey says you-all slobs are fatter/slobbier than the last survey reported.
    You feel guilty, don’t you?
That’s what the elites want for you slobs.

  3. Laser Toner Running Low?
HP and Lexmark will hate me for telling you this. You can often get your laser printer back to printing BLACK again if you tap the cartridge from end to end with a heavy pen or small ruler.
Tapping frees a lot of toner stuck to the inside of the cartridge and so allows your printer to print many more good copies before exchanging for a new one.
Low overhead and living frugally keeps money in your wallet longer. Now where the heck can I get a good electric jeep. TG

  4. Uh, Jiang’s been gone since 2003 — just so we’re clear on that. Hu has been a hell of a lot more open than Jiang ever was.
    “… defame their reputations…”
No reputations to speak of. If people actually paid attention to what FG teaches, they’d realize FG has practically no credibility whatsoever in terms of religion. They have only slightly more (if any) credibility in terms of reporting what happens.
    “… bankrupt them financially…”
    Government does this to everybody.
    “… destroy them physically…”
    Government does this to everybody.
“Practitioners have been detained, fired from jobs, expelled from school, evicted from their homes, fined, arrested, beaten, brainwashed, tortured, and even killed. Their family members, neighbors, friends, colleagues, and employers are also implicated by association.”
And what about everybody else who’s a member of a group the government doesn’t like? What about Christians? Muslims? People with money who might get in the government’s way? I’m not saying crap doesn’t happen in China. I’m saying that the claim that FG is the only target is ludicrous.
“The propaganda machine of the entire country is geared to fomenting lies and producing hatred-inciting materials with the intent of forcing the populace into opposing Falun Gong.”
As if FG don’t have their own massive propaganda machine. I’m just glad you didn’t bring up Hitler in your post. The claim that China is the next Auschwitz is an offense to all Jews.

  5. CJ McLachlin of the Supremes asks:
“What does the world do with somebody who is truly dangerous wherever they go?”
Tommy Douglas, P. Trudeau, Bernard Ostry, AdScam Chretien/Martin , et al, had the answer and they did so:
Pack them onto/into the Supreme Court of Canada benches.

  6. You’re right, Eugene, many groups are persecuted by the regime in Beijing. Christians who want to worship outside the rules laid down by the state (and there are millions), political dissidents, internet users, The Uighers muslim group, AIDS activists, journalists, and anyone else they happen to disapprove of. The difference is that Falun Gong is the only group they want to eradicate from the face of the earth, and when Jiang Zemin started the persecution in 1999 he though he’d have it wiped out in three months. Seven years later, the torture and killing continue unabated.
In case you don’t know, Hu Jintao was the man on the job after China invaded Tibet. It was Hu’s policies that had the ancient temples razed, the monks and nuns arrested and tortured, and who knows what all else. So Hu’s not exactly a nice guy. He kept all Jiang’s oppressive policies in place since he took power in China and actually tightened up in many areas, internet control and free speech being two. You might be right in thinking democracy will eventually catch on in China, but I highly doubt it will be during Hu’s reign.

  7. Red Liberal/Librano$ conference has opened in Mont-Tremblant, Quebec.
All the usual suspects have been rounded up.
All the “progressive”, aka socialist dogma, songs are being sung in unison.
    P. Trudeau’s son, Justin, attired in sandals, etc., says they have a lot of “soul-searching” to do.

  8. The north American open corridor is purely an agenda of the CFR and trilateral commission to further the prospects of their respective clients. For the rest of us ( who have never been asked if we want to render up our national sovereinty to private oligopolies) all this means is decreaced standard of living, social and economic homoginization with Mexico ( a statist oligarchic 3rd world nation who exports its impoverished masses as a survival policy).
If this goes forward, all Canadians ahve to do is look at what mexucan invasion of the SW US has done.
We may need their vegetables in the winter but that’s about all.

  9. MSM is reporting on MSM: Ran Dather, one-time blatherer at/on CBs, is heading into the sunset; retiring?
Me Lie Dan is an equal rights shareholder/stakeholder in the posh “Hanoi Hilton” in Vietnam. Jane you-know who, and Walt Cronkite, are preparing a “bash-Bush” party for Blather at the “Hilton”. The party is hosted by Fidel, Che, and Raoul Castro.
Zerbis will be dead-blogging, covering the festivities, live, on hers bog, a la Toronto Red Star website.
This is a “fake but accurate” report.

  10. A few more comments on the plight of Falun Gong in case anybody cares. The persecution itself is political for the simple reason that it was launched by a political party/CCP. In the free world, FG are using democratic channels to counteract the persecution by speaking out for their human rights and taking the criminals to Justice.
In Communist China FG practitioners chose to unfurl Truth-Compassion-Tolerance banners in the court of last resort,Tiananmen Square, having lost all rights to appeal the injustice of the persecution. Or hi-jack the odd TV signal to show clips about the truth and horrors of the persecution. Remember that those Chinese people are told (by the CCP)to hate, defame, and denouce FG because they are criminals. Indeed religion/spiritual belief is the biggest weapon to instill fear in the Party. But practitioners were not going to bury their heads in the sand–communist style. They opted to openly tell the truth about what the CCP is doing to them and expose the killing without using violence.
This whole persecution is based on lies – their 610 office works 24/7 on ways to crush Falun Gong

How they Jiang do it? By slapping many labels on FG. Mainly dictator Jiang called it a cult in 1999, then he legislated an anti-cult law to give himself permision to kill them without mercy. His order was not to account for their deaths.
So more labels came later in 2000 and a campaign to harass FG overseas.

“According to these same sources inside China, on October 12th, a highly classified document was sent out from the central government via an internal telegram to the military and top officials at the Ministry level. Sources report that the document now classifies Falun Gong as ‘counter-revolutionary,’ as ‘anti-Party,’ and as an ‘anti-socialist organization'”.
This is what has been documented on that campaign (see WOIPFG 2004) But, first take a look at what happened to a Vancouver practitioner when she went to Bejing for business.

To get a view of the big picture of the many CCP attacks on FG check this report here. http://www.zhuichaguoji.org/
Epoch Times http://www.theepochtimes.com/index11.html usually reports on the latest going on in China including the FG situation and the Freedom Movement. Reading Gao Zhisheng’s articles (on Epoch/left handside) has helped me to understand the party culture and more so with reading the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party http://www.ninecommentaries.com — Part V explains quite clearly the history of FG.
I look at all this as an extension of the Cultural Revolution except for the fact that this persecution is covered up better.
Jiang Zemin has declared FG the number one enemy of the state–in China they call it “class enemy”.
But admist all this, many, many deaths later(80 Million in 56 years of reign)the CCP has become very weak in the eyes of the Chinese people. The Chinese are standing their grounds more and more with 84,000 recorded riots a year. They all hate the Party. More than 11 million people have quit the evil party, so its foundation is destroyed. Of course there is a CCP campaign in place to revive the Party but it’s not working.
Even Hu and Wen didn’t go to the official opening of the dam of the 3 Gorges (?) lately. Apparently, they don’t want their names associated with that calamity. This is a first and that is telling. But for the most part Hu and Wen thrive on the party culture.

  11. The Falungong issue, I think those who think falungong is a cult is being brainwashed by Lies or propaganda. A good suggestion is to read the Nine Commentaries: http://ninecommentaries.com/
THe Tian an Square event, The sars story, the 64 event, the persecution of Tibet Dalai Lama, The Xinjiang killing and now the Falungong…How many more will suffer? Those are are being washed by the Communist, please be awaken and step into this imagination of these:
    1. if one of your friends, family members, relative are being persecuted to death..
    2. Have you ever seen the BLOOD STREAM or RIVER during the Tian men Sqaure event?
    3. THe Tanks Crushing through throunsands of live student in tian an men sqaure….
    4. Organs taken out of live falungong members, seen those pictures? Seen those who been torture ??
lastly, the SARS story, how many die because of the lie and propaganda of the chinese communist?
Awake, and please try to talk to one of the falungong members you see on the street handing out flyers to people just to say ” Please Stop the Persecution of Falungong” or ” Save my families in China” or “Please take a flyers and understand us”

  12. Re to Luni’s
Now that you mention about the Blood stream after the tanks roll crushing all those students….
My grandma heard gun shuts at night and saw tanks drove throught the city of Chang An city in CHina. I am a Chinese, I was brainwashed since I was little to believe how godly the Communist party is..How they are my mother and greater than my dear mother… Now I *PUKE and want to SPIT** on them for saying and making all those prapaganda songs and histroys… They are full of ALL LIES, CRABS and SHITS!!! THEY are nothing but EVIL DEVILS!!!
My mother went back to CHina last month or so, So many villegers are starving, even lost their land and home because they were forced out of their home by the Evil communist…What did the communist regime say to those protesting farmers? The land belongs to the Communist party. ANd many were forced to sell their land for a cheap price and the Communist sold it 10x higher the price to bussiness men…
Why so much CHina imported things in Canada? WHy Comunist things are cheap? Because of so much labours!! ALso because many falungong memebers are torture inside those concentration Camps 24/7 to make those products. non-falungong members are being pay a few dollar.. All those mOney the communist party makes, where does it go? It goes to persecuting the Falungong members…Ler me ask this: If those people arn’t paid to persecute the falungong members, do you think they would do it?
Do you know, anyone who arrest a falungong members are given Thousands of dollars?
I was there when the Dictator Hu came to Vancouver, the Chinese embassy paided $50 dollar per person to show up to greet him. How LAME was that?

  13. Oh, it seems like that this website is invaded by some chinese communist net police. Canadians do not need Beijing to tell us what we should do. Beijing would protest that talking about human rights is messing up with China’s internal affairs, but it doesn’t care about messing up with other countries’ internal affairs at all.
