Is it time now to put Graig Oliver out to pasture?
“JUDGE GOMERY” Is Oliver on something, I knew that the lefty ctv & others were against everything that is not liberal but this is a little too rich. Or is it that he is finaly showing that he has gone a little CUKU,CUKU.
Thanks, Kate, for the linkage to my post. I believe this fact must be gotten out there for the voters to know.
Gomery appointed Raymond Garneau, a longtime Martin crony who actually helped Martin get the financing necessary to buy CSL, to head up the advisory body overseeing the recommendations phase of the Gomery Report. I called for Gomery in a post on Nov. 15th, 2005, to cancel the appointment as it’s an apparent conflict of interest.
As far as I know, Garneau is still in the position. How can Gomery continue to retain him? Is Gomery ignorant? Did he not look into Garneau’s background? Is he unaware of his relationship to Paul Martin, whom Gomery “exonerated” in Phase 1 of the Report?
These questions must be asked!
I can’t believe this can happen in Canada. It’s more like something that would happen in Syria or someplace…

To Quebecers, the impact of the scandal and the commission that showcased it was
much more nuanced. As Alain-G.Gagnon and Raffaele Iacovino of the Universit du

sponsorship scandal was a window on the belief that the discontents of Quebecers

it will take more than Gomery to repair the damage.>>>
From the perspective of Quebec, both the logic of the

The PM is now blaming the United States for the gang violence in Toronto. When they produce the gang members’ US citizenship papers, I might be more receptive to the argument. Track ’em down, shoot ’em, and/or throw them in jail, with no youth offender status, no healing lodges, no Sharia Law. How effing hard is that? If you can’t control gangs, how will you ever ensure that terrorists are not going to destroy your country. Gangs = terrorists. It shouldn’t be hard to connect the dots, but somehow is for the PM.

The Gomery Deception
Complicity in the Corridors of Consequence
Beryl P. Wajsman
2 April 2005
The broad mass of a nation will more easily fall victim to a big lie than to a small one.
~Joseph Stalin
The Commission of Inquiry into the Sponsorship Affair is arguably the greatest political fraud ever perpetrated on the Canadian public. A Ponzi scheme could not have been constructed with more premeditated malicious intent. Ostensibly established to clean up the national political landscape, one could be forgiven for thinking that its main purpose was to deflect attention from the galloping growth of Paul Martins conflicts of interest in CSL, in Lansdowne Technologies, in 28 offshore companies headquartered in Barbados and in Earnscliffe Strategies which has now finally become the subject of a House Public Accounts Committee investigation.
The damage it has done to this fragile controlled democracy in which we live – the true heart of darkness in this process is much more grievous to the commonweal than any over billing by ad agencies or any amount of arm-twisting for greater donations to party purposes. And not just because it has spent $80 million to find $13 million.
This Commissions great crime is that it has callously compromised any semblance of due process of law in proceedings that are nothing less than star chambers. Established from the outset as nothing more than a McCarthyite witch hunt, it has allowed the slithering serpentine virus of invective and innuendo to infect our body politic. And it has attempted to validate its existence as an example of just consideration under law. This unholy construct born of mendacity will crumble from the corrosion of its own inherent corruption.
Reputations ruined by hearsay and half-truths go unchallenged because this Commissioner disallows any reasonable degree of examination of witnesses by anyone other than Commission counsels. Indicted defendants are allowed to machine-gun libels at will in an effort to throw out enough juicy tidbits with which to bait deals with the Crown. A score of ministers, dozens of political operatives and just about every other Liberal of any importance who has not pledged undying fidelity to the Martin cult are grilled on matters five and even ten years old that no reasonable person can be expected to remember. State sanctioned public political executions for the diversion of the masses.
Martin could not have chosen better chefs dorchestre. Judge Gomery has made enough prejudicial statements that would have resulted in his forcible recusal in any normal legal setting even in a banana republic. He even awarded a non-tendered contract to one firm for all accounting services. The very behaviour Martin supposedly found so objectionable and used as part of the raison detre for the Inquiry. Chief Counsel Bernard Roy masterfully projects the appropriate degree of indignant false piety reveling in the fact that his past as the Chief of Staff to Prime Minister Mulroney – during one of the most scandal plagued periods in recent times with some half dozen Ministers forced to resign – goes unmentioned by the media allowing him to attempt to reverse his own deflowering. Can any rational thinking person worthy of the title citizen conclude that all this is mere coincidence? >>>> more

The number of Canadians behind bars in the country’s jails and prisons fell last year to its lowest level in more than two decades, Statistics Canada said Friday. The decline came even though there has been a substantial increase in the average number of adults awaiting trial or sentencing over the past decade. The government agency noted, however, that the rise was more than offset by a decrease in custodial sentences imposed, the government agency said.
When will the MSM be asking Gomery why he appointed Raymond Garneau…?

Klander and his other brother Klander? A tale of two photos.

I would bet that his wife couldn’t make his eyes roll back into his head like that”.
Toronto Star, December 26:

Globe and Mail, December 23:
“The anti-Harper messages were prepared by a volunteer in Ontario and approved in the spring by the Liberal Party of Canada, said Liberal spokeswoman Amy Butcher…Ms. Butcher said the anonymous volunteer who prepared the material has not been taken to task”.

Then again maybe the volunteer was a Lib-O VP and got fired a few days later when he got busted for the second time in a week?

“Chief Counsel Bernard Roy masterfully projects the appropriate degree of indignant false piety reveling in the fact that his past as the Chief of Staff to Prime Minister Mulroney – during one of the most scandal plagued periods in recent times with some half dozen Ministers forced to resign – goes unmentioned by the media…” maz2
Because a ‘half dozen’ Ministers stepped down nearly two decades ago, we are to assume Mr Roy is somehow biased? Unethical? Tainted? Corrupt? Shake your head. There have been numerous occasions over the past decade where Lib Ministers simply refused to step down and the PMO endorsed it. Kinda like putting up with 12 years of where Ralph Goodale is at right now.
Oliver’s best before date expired a decade ago. You would think, after all these years, he’d appreciate Gomery’s efforts and lament the fact that the mandate was too narrow. But to accuse this man of undermining the feds and denying them a majority government shows just how low the standards have become in the media these days. If it hadn’t been for all of you, the Klander story would have fizzled and died after that brief mention by the Toronto Star. I suspect it’s only because they’re abandoning the Libs for the NDP that they are outraged. Probably even more miserable that it wasn’t a Tory who wrote it all.
Nutbars are rising in Alberta. Look at Ralph Klein; as nutty as,well, a nutbar. CMH tells ya, so ya better believe. Oh, wait. The number of nutbar police officers is rising. Sorry. Oh, wait. The number of nutbars in CMH is rising with the number of fruitbars at “CBC Calgary 59 -minutes ago”.

Gomery will not cancel Garneau’s appointment unless the MSM makes a big deal.
Or unless the blognet makes such a big deal the MSM looks stupid and Liberal-syncophantic and has no choice but to pay attention to important, dirty, disturbing facts they’ve so far ignored.
Perhaps since there’s an election campaign ongoing, there will be some mention of it by a political opponent of the Liberals’ which would then have to be covered by the MSM, else the MSM will prove itself irrelevant and biased. And in the future subject to massive overhaul due to new legislation making the press truly free and not influenced by any governing party.
In the meantime, can we really trust the MSM to tell us what we need to know as opposed to what they (or the Liberals) want us to know?
Thanks for the link, Kate! Oliver is truly past his “best before” date.
