Liberal “Audit” Conflict Of Interest?

MKBratten:

The Montreal firm that conducted the review (or audit if you talk to a Liberal MP) on the Quebec wing of the Liberal party’s finances, *Samson Blair Deloitte & Touche*, the same firm that has donated over $100,000 to the party, has previously employed MP Pierre Pettigrew, Minister of Foreign Affairs, as vice president.

It’s confirmed on his website.
Update: Sean just dumped a boatload of links in the comments on this. If they’re all as good as the first one

  1. “Conflict of interest?”
Let’s first wait and see what impartial Howard Wilson has to say about it before we jump to conclusions.

  2. you are doing a great job making democracy work.
Keep up the great blogging, we will rid this great land of the Liberal blight.

  3. Dammit, is there one shread of evidence for honesty in that bloody party. A party of deception, deflection and scandals….if they get in again, it’s probably going to get violent ….

  4. Harper questions the Liberals today on the “audits” and Brison has the gall to accuse Harper of ignorance. He said “A forensic accounting review is a very thorough review of all accounting, Mr. Speaker, I’d urge the honourable member to stick to politics and not try business if he doesn’t understand anything more about accounting than that.”
Yet on Sunday he was calling them and “audit”. There person who does not know anything about accounting is Scott Brison. The truth is the Liberals worst enemy right now.

  5. Can someone please tell me where the heck Binder Boy is? I seem to recall a previous scandal – and your tax dollars – was laughed away by Binder Boy’s antics. I thought he was the solution to all Liberal problems.
Great line by Scott Brison today: “the Liberals are choosing principle over strategy.” Given that the Libs have no principles, that sounds about right in describing their abysmal attempts to deflect the fallout from this mess.
