The 8K a month probably doesn’t include all the money made from selling protection. The phone was probably to arrange broken legs, loads of cement, etc. etc.
My reading of this is that that the attorney for the Liberal Party is mounting a defense that says in essence “There’s no evidence the _Party_ took money”.
Ok…just the leadership? I call that the Third World Dictator Defense. Been used in front of the World Bank for years.
And, the Liberal Party is raising funds to pay back any money it never took in the first place? What am I missing?

Paul Martin is a devout Catholic. If you have any civility, you would not be making jokes about the Pope’s funeral, or the Prime Minister attending that funeral as part of Canada’s official delegation.
Rather, your lack of civility can be traced to Grant Devine and the corrupt Progressive Conservative Party he headed where fifteen of his ministers were convicted of criminal offenses.
Even if all the accused in Adscam are convicted, that still is small compared to the criminals in the Conservative ranks, put in place by Lyin Brian Mulroney.
Paul Martin kissed the ground at the Vatican, because they have no extradition treaty with any other country- get there, and you’re home free, ( wich will cost ya).
When His Popeness came to Toronto for the Catholic Woodstock, an appointed Catholic Prime minister handed him a check for 1.25 MILLION dollars, ( of taxpayers’ money)
An appointed Catholic general manager of our TTC, personally ate 6 MILLION dollar’s worth of Pilgrims Passes.
And another appointed Catholic director of the Trillium Foundation, kicked in another half-million dollars to train ‘volunteers’.
