BC Covid Dashboard:
https://experience.arcgis.com/experience/a6f23959a8b14bfa989e3cda29297ded
Interesting…I see total deaths, but no graph indicating trends. One would expect to see deaths really drops, even if cases stay stable, due to the most likely to die getting the shot first.
Exactly, the graphs that would make it easy to see relevant trends or context don’t seem to be there.
Dr BON BON likes it that way. The more vague the stats, the more vague she can be with her rhetoric and threats of doom.
There is no panic at BC hospitals.
Those that die are either the very old, or young with co-morbidities, obesity, diabetes, asthma. Not that BON BON would ever admit the truth. That would diminish her Fear Factor rhetoric.
There is a COVID case surge. There is no ICU emergency. As of yesterday afternoon, there were 96 COVID patients in ICU in the province. BC has about 900 ICU beds and could open more in a pinch. 318 COVID patients total hospitalized in BC, with about 6500 beds province-wide.
This is (more) fear mongering.
D’ya remember when Gavin Newsom said CA needed 50,000 new Hospital beds … and demanded the Trump Admin. give CA a $few hundred billion to build them? I wonder how many new Hospital beds BC is trying to extort from PM SockinPussy

In addition to the Dashboard, there is the Epi-App, which shows trends for cases and deaths, but not hospitalization data. They are 2 weeks behind in updating the Situation Report; next one comes out April 7.

So, after more than a year the governments have expanded ICU capacity how much and redeployed resources from lesser needed programs how much? Oh, I know, ask a silly question…
Hahahaha ha ha ha ha haaaaaaa ha ha
Government Planners … are like Jumbo Shrimp. Right?
Yes Boss Ford is saying there is a critical shortage of ICU beds and we must prevent the risk of them being overloaded because he hasn’t done anything about the shortage for the past year. We are better off without government trying to run everything,
Incompetence and malfeasance?
Is that what’s happening in BC?
I know there’s no prize for the correct answer because it’s obvious.
Throughout Canada and the rest of the western world.
And what constitutes a “case” in BC? PCR CT of 40? 37? 35? 30? I think 28 would be a more reasonable number.
I wasn’t about to spout off without a reference.
https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/diagnostics/21462-covid-19-and-pcr-testing
There are two variable here, the number of cycles the sample is put through, each cycle doubles the amount of RNA that the test detects (note: Not the virus itself). The more theere is the brighter will the sample flouresce under UV light. So, the second variable is how bright is the flourescence to declare a positive “case”. Other variables are the probability of contamination, infection at the test site, accuracy of instrumentation, etc.
Someone called up Lifelabs and was informed that they routinely do tests with 40-42-44 cycles.
As of March 11 the mortality rate in B.C. was 0.03% and the survival rate was 99.97%. I suspect that is still likely the case. It is common knowledge that the “gold standard” PCR test is highly unreliable.
B.C. is using a PCR cycle threshold of 35-40, which as the WHO has recently admitted will result in upwards of 97% false positive results or only 3% actual infections.
Cases are only positive results from an inferior test, not infections. However I am sure the State Broadcaster or someone from Constant Trudeau Vision will be unleashing a camera crew to B.C. hospitals to cover the triaging in the parking lot due to the overflow.
Case mortality rate remains at 2.3% in Canada.
99.97% is for the under 70 crowd.
I’d suggest using the running tally at this point is spurious. About 18k of the 23k deaths in Canada occurred in ON an PQ long-term care homes in the early part of the pandemic. Even ignoring the age cohorts after doing so, the CFR should be massively lower, given that there are only about 4-5k deaths outside of LTC in Canada, and how many hundreds of thousands of positive tests since (only 60k active “cases” in Canada currently). The general population was never in any serious danger, except in outlier cases (obesity/comorbidities) or possibly in cases of compressed living conditions.
To GRM: I actually sent an email to Alberta Health to get clarification on their testing standards. The tl;dr of their response (which surprised me to receive at all) is that they have no standards. None. They couldn’t even be bothered to say they used a C(t) of 30 or 35…it was “it depends”. I’m attempting to get clarification on that and a number of other questions, but I’m not holding my breath.
Priceless all these Psychopaths’ need to be brought to trail and incarcerated. Including Dr. Fecces err Fauci who it turns out funded the Wuhan Lab to play with Bat Flu. Then they put the Mental Dr. Mengele in charge of Locking Everyone in the Ffing World Up.

That should be the end of Falsi’s career. He and his “eco-health’ pals have a lot to answer for.
The dashboard is reasonably informative but takes some interpretation-quick summary Active cases 7571, Hospitalized 296, ICU 79. So 370ish serious cases, 7200 people feeling miserable at home. What you won’t find on this site is number of hospital beds, that info is here-https://thetyee.ca/News/2020/04/02/COVID-BC-Hospitals-Mapped/
of course you would not want to fill the total capacity of 206 ICU beds with Wuhan flu patients, but 79 cases of Wuhan flu is far short of capacity. The bedwetters want more shutdowns.
There seems to be a surge of new cases in West Vancouver and the West Side of Vancouver, perhaps related to some partying stupidity at Whistler ski hill, but because these two areas are generally far richer than the surrounding areas, I think what you are hearing is-hells bells now the IMPORTANT people are getting Wuhan flu, this is very serious, somebody call Justin.
Of course most of this plandemic could be mitigated with some IVERMECTIN, but that would cut into Dr Henny Penny’s the sky is falling narrative.
In AB, the ICU cases are a subset of hospitalisations, so it’s likely they are in BC also. Could be wrong.
Anyone know which winery St. Bonnie owns? I wonder if the tasting room is open? There’re two restaurants including one called Corduroy in Vancouver that have (rightfully) defied the recent public health order. More economy-nurturing bevauor by the same folks who think it’s cool to just print more money when they run out of yours.

ANTI-COVID BRIGADE TRIES TO CLOSE RESTAURANT IN VANCOUVER – CUSTOMERS CHANT “GET OUT!”
Gee, do you think the Calgary pastor’s video was seen by many Canadians?
Is it true St Bonnie boarded a helicopter to go to Victoria to visit family over weekend?
This of course after she closed the ferry operation to Victoria?
I heard the very same. By the way, I checked out the winery she co-owns in southern BC: Clos du Soleil. It remains open for tastings by reservation. Too bad the restaurants aren’t.
You do not know that the balance is feeling ill at home. Probably half of them feel fine, the other maybe a sniffle. WHich is why, when I hear of “cases” I ask if they are ill.
Stevie, here, Reporting from theBC interior….
More confusing numbers and incomplete sentences to continue the fear mongering.
Like every fucking where else.
Now put your mask on!
Maybe people will start waking up to the reality that Bonnie Bullshit is way out of her depth.
Also the NDP foisting an election on us during a crisis was a really greasy thing to do. The sort of crap Glen Clark would have pulled.
Well, they did mostly because the Liberals were a mess, and they had a bad leader who promised similar policies as the Commies. Yeah it was greasy, but their enemy was “worse”, BC will now vote Commie for years, just like Turdeau will keep power so long as he can keep bribing the gullible and stupid
Throughout this whole thing I’ve noted that no one I knew could speak of anyone other than a ‘cousin’s boyfriend’s mother’ or such having contracted Covid.
As of last Sunday however, I and four friends in our ‘bubble’ all tested positive, though thankfully my wife who is battling Stage IV cancer was negative. We have the occasional dinner together either at a restaurant or one of our homes and have no idea of the origin of the infection. But what I wish to bring forward is that though our ages range from 71 – 76, none of us have experienced symptoms greater than a mild cold. No fever, no chills, no chest or nasal congestion – just the very occasional single cough and having to blow my nose a little more frequently.
What’s crazy however is that my wife, who is most at risk and as of today, eligible for immediate inoculation, cannot take advantage of it because she has to huddle in place until April 18th due to my positive test. She’s upstairs doing everything on my behalf, while I remain downstairs taking meals left at the top of the stairs. Both of us are left with some anxiety that she could become infected, while we wait for our time in purgatory to run out.
I have immediate family members who have contracted COVID in Saskatchewan (mild cases), and friends in the US who have both survived and died of it. I hope your symptoms stay mild! Best of wishes to your wife.
The only person that I know that became very ill with covid had cancer, was in between chemo treatment and he survived. He turned 80 as he was recovering.
He was treated with Hydroxychloroquin and an antibiotic. Hope your wife remains free, but in the meantime are you able to guarantee the best treatment for her should she become ill? Glad you have a mild case!
I live in a part of BC where the pandemic is almost non-existent and people are getting quite frustrated with the constant changes in provincial health orders that don’t have any regional nuances. Our pubs and restaurants have been forced back into take-out and patio only, and this is not the warm zone where a patio might be tolerable (yet).
My contacts in Vancouver tell me that the increased rates are mostly a case of the impacts spreading out into younger age groups where presumably the overall death toll will be relatively slight. Most of the Canucks have been diagnosed positive, which as somebody says may not always mean much.
Trying to decide whether to get the jab, I don’t really want to buy a lot of Microsoft products and endorse climate change, but if there’s a vaccine without those features then maybe I will. There’s a tendency to say, “let the woke go first, if they all drop off, it’s a sign.”
ICU’s are suppose to be full, or close to it. ( They are very expensive.) During the surge a year ago ICU sizes roughly doubled because they converted other hospital Units, ( PACU, PCU) to ICUs.
My old hospital has been Covid free for month’s. The one I’m at now is having angsts because they hired all us travel and contract RNs at > twice the normal rate and out “Covid” unit is covid free the last two months.
What is happening in BC is a third wave of the Wuhan Flu. Same pattern as in Ontario but few days ahead. Alberta and Quebec are following few steps behind Ontario. Our vaccinations rates are pathetic and thus we got more flu. We could have curbed the pandemic if those who wanted the shot got it. https://www.ctvnews.ca/health/coronavirus/tracking-every-case-of-covid-19-in-canada-1.4852102
No, I am not demanding that all people get vaccinated, that is a separate discussion and I am against any mandatory vaccinations or vaccine passports. Also I am ambivalent about the side effects of vaccines and about the flu itself.
COLON R~4!!
I agree wholeheartedly. The issue for me is what has Trudeau been doing for the past year? Virtually nothing! On purpose? Are our lives part of his ‘reset’ plan? Kind of like government
(in) action on fentanyl. Government sponsored euthanasia.
Same claims are being made about Ontario with the Fat Bastard threatening to lock us down even harder. Thing is, 482 covid patients in icu with over 400 hospitals doesn’t sound very scary to me. They leave out how many hospitals Ontario has in all the reporting though.
My son is one of those front line workers. He explained to me there are two kinds of ICU beds. There are regular ICU beds and then there are COVID ICU beds. The COVID ICU beds require all kind of extra precautions, extra PPE, huge difference in who can visit and when and why, equipment used, staff required, and things like that. Therefore when they talk about a shortage of ICU beds when it seems like here are many more ICU beds according to the stats what that means is the special COVID ICU wards are full or (as in Manitoba) they were closed down when numbers started falling and now the hospitals are scrambling to reopen them. He says a lot of the panic is due to mismanagement and sticking to the same kind of delivery on demand only approach to ICU beds that also screws up supply chains for groceries.
Priceless all these Psychopaths’ need to be brought to trial and incarcerated. Including Dr. Fecces err Fauci who it turns out funded the Wuhan Lab to play with Bat Flu. Then they put the Mental Dr. Mengele in charge of Locking Everyone in the Ffing World Up.

” … and the ICU is almost full.”
Silly, alarmist statement. ICUs have been full to overflowing for at least the last ten years.
Almost full is a relief.
From my experiences at 2 Vancouver area hospitals these past many years, your point is absolutely valid. Overcrowding was the norm well before this KungFlu epidemic was ever unleashed on us.
5.1 million people, 2.21 million tests 101,000 cases They’ve tested half the population. They don’t tell you how many are actually ill.
The media is full of stories of the Brazillian variant being deadly and killing people willy-nilly and we should all be wery afwaid. I don’t see anythiong in these numbers.
There are piles of bodies on every street. You can’t drive anywhere people are dumping bodies on all the sidewalks and streets in Canada. In the Dark ages the Black Plague killed 51% of the Europeans according to expert estimates. The 1918 Chinese Flu killed 80M the experts estimate.
The current Chinese Bat Flu according to WHO numbers has killed 2.3M out of a total of 7.9B globally….
I don’t want to go on the cart!
Don’t believe ‘im, ‘ee’ll be stone dead in a minute.
Bring out yer dead!
My 103 year old grandma, who died in 1991 (my God rest her soul) told me stories about the 1918 flu as she experienced it in Saskatchewan. It was a ‘bring out your dead!’ kind of situation. That was truly a fearful pandemic. The able-bodied, healthy and young were as at-risk as anyone else, if not more so. This ain’t that, although there are certain sectors of society that really need to be careful/protected.
Some with positive tests are being told to get tested daily. Children also…which is absolute child abuse.
Think about this: Joe is positive on Monday and is one of the 275 positives in his area. He is tested again Tuesday and is positive , and one of 366 positives that day. Tuesdays cases are not all new, but it sounds so much more alarming to quote those numbers, right?
Also…hospitals should be able to handle the cases….we flattened the curve, remember??
On another note it is encouraging to see video reports on Rebel media of the many anti lockdown marches all across Ontario.
Testing positive isn’t or at least shouldn’t be called an active case. Here in BC I am willing to bet that a large number of infections are unreported since folks don’t want their whole family quarantined for having mild flu symptoms.
I love to tear at the feds for their pathetic failure in vaccine delivery, I don’t think it is the be all end all solution. I strongly suspect the vaccines, as delivered in Canada will be ineffective. I am shocked to find the WHO agrees with me.
The benefit of this whoohoo flue, is that it outed conservative government for being anything but conservative, just more political assholes
I am sensing from the overall comments that the SDA peeps are succumbing to the narrative.
Wakey wakey…stay the course.
What, embracing despair is the end game!?
The fuck out of here…
Does this help? https://www.covid-19canada.com/graphs
Just to add to the info, I live in BC, a hundred kliks north of Vancouver on the coast. Yesterday, (Tuesday) my wife aged 69 had her Covid shot at 3.30 pm local time. At about 6,pm she had mild chest pains. at 8. pm she went to bed with a heating pad on her chest. At 10. pm she was in such pain from a knot in her left chest region, I took her to emergency. Long story short, they kept her overnight and I visited this morning at 9.am as instructed. No change, but pain managed (pain killers I guess) went home, and she called me at 9.45 am and said they told her she has pneumonia and moved her to ICU.
Mighty convenient getting pneumonia a few hours after a covid shot. As I’ve said before, they’ll need to nail me down before I take that crap, and now I think my wife might agree with me.
Clearly, the time has come to crack open each other’s skulls and feast on the goo inside.
