Trudeau, Butts, Telford and Wernick all should be charged and prosecuted for Obstruction of Justice.
They won’t be in this country.
Things will get better now that Blackie has that beard and serious look. The media has promised us.
I’ll be blunt. What we are seeing is, for lack of a better term, Quebecification of our political, corporate and judicial systems. The Quebec construction industry model on a national scale.
Jean Chretien remarked that he didn’t like doing business with western Canadians because the culture is so different from Quebec (plus Ottawa, Toronto and most of Atlantic Canada). I took it to mean western Canadians can’t be bought or rented as easily. I also assumed it’s why Central Canada tries to keep western Canadians out of the federal civil service. First by blatant regional discrimination, then by official bilingualism. I suspect western Canadians are extremely unrepresented in all branches of the federal civil service in general, prominent positions in particular.
IMO, Canada is well on its way to banana republic status, without the benefit of a warm enough climate to grow bananas. The PMO, through the appointment process and the power of the purse, controls everything at this point – nomination papers for their MPs, the Senate, Judiciary, RCMP, the entire bureaucracy, corporations and the media. There aren’t any checks or balances in our system.
To use an SNC example : it was a western Canadian politician, attorney general Wison-Raybould from BC, who refused to interfere in the the Public Prosecutor’s case. After she was fired and kicked out of the Liberal Party, who replaced her as attorney general? A politician from Quebec, Lametti. Now SNC stock price is on the rise after a slap on the wrist fine and reassurances that it won’t be barred from federal contracts.
Quebecification of our political, judicial and corporate systems.
And SNC carries on as usual, with a $1B+ contract for the extension of Ottawa’s Trillium LRT. Apparently not meeting contract specifications wasn’t an issue. Same old same old.
On our way?
We ARE there already.
Who stopped the active investigation into SNC-Lavalin before the election? PM Blackface did.
It’s not just the construction industry. I worked with a guy originally from Montreal. He worked as the maintenance manager for a large internationally known manufacturing company. He kept a cash box locked in his desk. Whenever a provincial government inspector came around (safety, environmental) he pulled out the cash box and the inspector went away with at most trivial work orders. Obviously everyone knew about it, it’s not like he refilled the box with his own money.
Pfft. If the world really knew how corrupt things are here they’d laugh at us even more so. You can say whatever about the Conservatives and I won’t argue, but the filthy Liberals, the Laurentian Elite and K-bec are the unholy Trinity of Shit.
I prefer PrairieWest separation but at the very least we need a regional party to protect our interests. The current CPC, like the old PC party, will sell out Alberta, Saskatchewan and most of BC in a heartbeat for votes in the rest of Canada, votes at the UN, or simply to get an “attaboy” from celebrities and billionaires.
You’re batting 1000 today,LC!
Would the Deferred Prosecution Agreement not effectively legalize criminality and incentivize corruption? Imagine honest brokers trying to compete with SNC. It would be near impossible to win a contract against the Quebec criminals without engaging in corrupt activities themselves. If the corrupt don’t get caught, all is well, if they do get caught, they pay a fine to – who? The Government who legitimized the corruption? Put that way it sounds like a scam. Or is this not what the DPA would do?
Anyone else feel that Jason Kenney has his sights on becoming PM and as such will subordinate the will and needs of the West to further his Federal ambitions? This isn’t an accusation against Kenney, just a personal concern.
Jason Kenny was interviewed on the Roy Green show, recently. When asked if the 33% or so support of Albertans for separation concerned him. He agreed that it did but not as much as polling showing that 77% were sympathetic with those that want separation.
Without a vote on the issue Ottawa won’t take either Alberta’s (or Saskatchewan’s) economic recession seriously. Growing demands on government services will push the prairie governments into deficits w/o end. This mimicking the Justin Trudeau dictum that “budgets will balance itself” and “we’ll grow the economy from the heart outwards”. …
Given the state of Alberta’s economy, does that mean P.M. Justin Trudeau is heartless, as well as mindless ? But I digress.
Westerners are upset at the high rate of crime, and chaos and corruption spawned by Liberal gov’t. policies and that of their like-minded Cult. Marxists appointed to the Supreme Court. who have outlawed the Common-Law protection: of social sanctions (shaming, ostracizing for anti-social behaviour, and prohibiting the teaching of the Judeo/Christian morality that were more effective at keeping us safe than is the law, watered down the sanctions of the *law until the old proverb “Crime doesn’t pay” has been completely reversed. Additionally, they have outlawed, in effect, the Right to self-defense derived from the Common-Law/Constitutional Right to life, Liberty and Security of the Person.
Formerly, the acceptance of higher levels of organized crime and political corruption in Montreal and in corruption, stayed there. Now successive Liberal governments have deliberately spread that from sea to sea. Red China and Mid-East oil Sheiks have bought off so many politicians, directives of the politburo in Beijing and also, Sharia Law are over-riding Canadian law and values.
These Liberal “values” are now being enforced by censorship where even free and open discussion of science and the scientific method and economics are suppressed by government schools. With the collapse, politically and morally of the CPC, the citizens of the Alberta and Saskatchewan have decided it is better to walk alone than with the crowd (following the Libranos) going in the wrong direction.
Premier Kenny and Premier Moe can deliver the peace, prosperity and good government, Ottawa never will again, or surrender their prairie people to a life of bondage to the Laurentian elite aka Libranos.
Will it be a firewall of independence or the sovereignty of separation? That remains to be seen, but the freedom train has left the station.
This train is bound for … https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qdD9cgSIbEE
(Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Roy Orbison And Carl Perkins This Train Is Bound For Glory)
Didn’t need the financial post to tell me that.
And if an election were held tomorrow Trudeau would win again.
A United Canada under conservatives will look exactly like a United Canada under Trudeau.
Wexit can’t happen fast enough.
And everyone who voted Liberal, ever, is fully in support of that.
Trudeau’s Charter. Working EXACTLY as intended. Producing EXACTLY the results it was intended to.
Prime Minister Trudeau is corrupt and a publicly admitted criminal. The national police force, RCMP, is corrupt and will not arrest the
criminal Justin Trudeau. Corruption at the highest levels of government and it’s agents is BAD for business.
IMO Wexit will never succeed. What it will do is form a federal political party much like the PPC producing the same result.
ab, there really are far to many people of non-western origin to ever get a vote to leave the confederation. That the NDP even won a majority is indicative of the underlying socialism that has been imported to the province. Throw in universities and schools that teach nothing but reliance on government and you are screwed. You are correct there will never be a successful wexit.
People have forgotten the spirit that brought their ancestors here to settle the Canadian prairie. With that spirit the Prairies have always been an incubator for protest and reform. Will that mean separation? I hope so but who knows.
What I do know is the spirit that brought my ancestors across the Atlantic is the same spirit that is urging me to consider moving away. And, unlike our great grandparents OAS, CPP and private pensions will be deposited monthly in a foreign bank account in countries who have a tax treaty with Canada. The decision is not just “yes or no” to separation but also “snowbird or ex-pat”. Cost of living, dental and healthcare are as good and cheaper in other countries.
Might as well consider living in a low cost, warm corrupt country as a high cost, cold corrupt country.
The same global index rated Chinada the least corrupt country in the Americas, with the US well behind, leading any sensible person to question the motives of whoever puts it together.
Clearly top marks are never given to countries whose governments make clear that they are not for sale to global finance or the Chinese communist party, at any price.
It gets worse regarding SNC-Lavalin; they couldn’t even meet the minimum technical standard required for the bidding process on the Ottawa light rail line. For whatever reason, the city management used its discretionary power to over rule the technical management team and award the $1.6 billion dollar contract to Lavalin with the inevitable screw-ups.
“I was absolutely shocked with how poor the proposal was,” said Coun. Carol Anne Meehan. “I was blown away that they really didn’t have a clue what they were actually bidding on and that their bid contained so many gaps in what was essential.”
“Among other issues, the SNC-Lavalin bid failed to include a signalling and train control system, had no plan for snow removal and, at one point, referenced equipment used on an electric train system as if the current Trillium Line trains were electric, and not, in fact, diesel.”
