    What is also interesting to note how progressive Medievalists are playing up the small fire at the Al-Aqsa Mosque which occurred on the same day as the fire at Notre-Dame. There was a passing reference to the mosque fire in the Jerusalem Daily Post but not in Haaretz.

        1. Canadian police should be very cautious about trying to charge someone in their home. The government does not own me or my home, and the police had best stick to their serve and protect role or they will foment something that they will be very unhappy trying to deal with.

    QUÉBEC – As it tries to green its image, the Legault government has just supported a rail project that will bring coal and oil from Western Canada to export from the North Shore. A decision incompatible with Quebec’s climate goals, according to environmentalists.

    In its budget, Quebec has set aside $ 7.5 million to fund a QcRail feasibility study. This initiative of Innovation and Development Manicouagan (ID Manic) aims to build a 370 km railway between Dolbeau-Mistassini and Baie-Comeau. The deep-water port there would be connected to the North American rail network.

    According to documents submitted by ID Manic to the Ministry of the Environment, the railway could transport 4.7 million tonnes of coal and 3.9 million tonnes of oil each year to the port terminal.

    It is also planned to build a 100,000 m 3 hydrocarbon storage terminal , equivalent to 625,000 barrels of oil, in Baie-Comeau. It would be built “on the edge of the right of way of the railway to the sea port”.

  8. The Globe and Mail story Trudeau’s Environment Minister McKenna, states that Ottawa will impose it’s own carbon tax on Albertan’s as soon as Kenney kills the Alberta Carbon Tax. And then the article warns how Evil Kenney will kill International Investment if he makes any changes or fights back against the EnviroNazi’s. He is scary. Soon he will be a NAZI. He could still keep his carbon tax but levy it against all oil and gas that leaves Alberta going east to Quebec and eastern Canada and west to BC. That way Edmonton has a carbon tax but it is on the ROC and not Albertans.
    Kenney has other ways to end Alberta Colonialism. Scrap CPP and have an Alberta Pension Plan. Scrap Federal UI from which Ottawa under Chretien and Martin stole 54B and have an Alberta program. Get the RCMP out of Alberta and have a Provincial Police, the RCMP is a make work project for Quebec and the ROC. Take back all land from the National Parks and make them Provincial Parks, they are just a make work project for Ottawa and the ROC.
    He has a large list of levers, then off to court and wallpaper Ottawa with Notwithstanding actions all part of the Trudeau Constitution in every area of Provincial Jurisdiction.       – He’s reducing immigration from 53,000 per year to 40,000, setting Quebec’s immigration rate at less than half that of English Canada.

      – He said he wants more of that reduced immigration to come from France and Europe (and far less from the third world) to better facilitate assimilation to the existing majority.

      – He’s banning religious headgear for all government employees in positions of authority, permanently preventing foreign extremists from infiltrating the state apparatus.

      And as I pointed out above he’s building a railroad to Baie Comeau and an oil terminal there. It will shave 6 days off the shipping time from Winnipeg to Hamburg, Germany from the existing route through Montreal, not just for Western oil but also coal, ore, food and fertilizer. And Baie Comeau, unlike Montreal, is a year-round port.

      If you look at Legault’s tweets regarding Jason Kenney and Alberta, I’d say about 90% of the replies there, in French, are pro-pipeline. There’s obviously popular support for Energy East in Quebec, but the media and cutural elites are dead-set against it. We shall see.

  18. Notre Dame Fire: Chief Architect says he is baffled how the oak timbers ever started on fire. He said oak that old needs a lot of kindling to start on fire, and the fire never even started in an area where there was any workmen or work taking place. That the Cathedral had state of the art fire systems and detectors, and powered in such away that they could never cause a fire. Also 2 security guards are on duty 24/7.     1. On the same topic, I think many devout Catholics will be offended by Macron’s hasty promise to rebuild (promising something even better!) He has not even allowed for a respectful period of mourning which spiritual people will recognize as much needed for the destruction of their sacred space. It’s a bit like losing a spouse, and then some callous boor jumps in with the idea of finding you an even better replacement. The fact that this is a week of mourning for Christians makes his pre-mature promise even more disrespectful. Easter is the day for renewal. He needed to show compassion and look for guidance from those most acutely feeling the loss of their historic Cathedral.

  19. In Ulster, a lesbian journalist nobody had ever heard of before has been shot dead by a “dissident republican” gunman during a riot in Londonderry.

    Police had tried to move in on a munitions dump (don’t ask who paid for them) in a housing estate under the control of a “republican” gang. Mainstream media hacks, including Lyra McKee, flocked to the scene hoping to get footage for use in making the police look bad. Lyra paid for her mistake with her life.

    Today they will shed crocodile tears for a hack they did not know yesterday. Tomorrow they will find a way to blame it on Brexit—and not the Dublin globalists who fund terror in Ulster.
