I see freedom of worship and democracy are alive and well in Denmark.

So up until now, they were required to conduct “just short blessing ceremonies” and now they have to do the whole thing? Let me guess, the previous argument went along the line: “You don’t have to do weddings, this will never lead to formal weddings.” How predictable, how evil. Pope should excommunicate every priest who conducts these weddings. Authorities for other churches should do the same. Gay marriage was never about gay rights, it was always about forced approval. Not tolerance but blind approval. Under threat. First it would be bad PR, then internet lynch mobs, now we are witnessing the final stage.

The Holy Father can only excommunicate Catholics, as he should for the likes of Trudeau. Excommunicate him and all of his followers – bell, book and candle! I think it was Pius XII who did it to Fidel Castro and all his followers.

Perhaps a little closer to home, some heads should roll. Like maybe in Nanaimo, BC., where Christians had been barred from using public some facilities. It seems public pressure and the threat of lawsuits has instilled some reality into the City Councillors. Time for a court case at the very least or preferrably a lynching just to drive the point home.

The priest or minister should refuse to do the ceremony if it conflicts with his religion, and force the government to jail him.

This what happens when you have a state religion and no separation of church and state,as a Christian (Lutheran) I support the separation of church and state this is why. The church in Denmark is funded by the state and there for is directed by the state. An older lady in my congregation said this state funding of the church has completely ruined the idea of the church and has damaged more faithful than any atheist could ever do,because it is forced through tax dollar funding. She said when she left 40 years ago ppl went to church 2 times in there life 1)Marriage (can’t get a marriage certificate with out it) 2)Funeral (again can’t get official death certificate without it. And that’s it folks separation of church n stae is important.
Having said that I am all for giving preference to a Christian religion in our country of Canada ie,the little idiots who cry about a nativity scene in a highshool lobby or a Christmas tree at city hall should have no legal right to ban or have it removed. But as for mandatory funding of a church I disagree. I like being able to choose where my tax dollars go though when funding the public/catholic school systems I wish I could chose to fund a Protestant church as well tho.
My pastor stated if Canada ever forced gay marriage the LCC would hand in there licenses and go alone. We don’t need no state mandated gay marriage!! That’s so gay!! ;p

Businesses shouldn’t be forced to serve them, either. But then, we have no freedom of association. Even though our so-called constitution says we do.

Forty years ago I supported gays to the extent that I did not think they should be persecuted. But now, today, the Christians are being persecuted by the powerful gay lobby and this lobby is constantly shoving it into our faces and even trying to convert our grandchildren to that lifestyle. Further to “Paul in Calgary”, this law applies only to the established (state Lutheran) church in Denmark, not to other Protestant denominations and Roman Catholic or Orthodox Christians. It also does not apply to synagogues, Hindu temples and mosques.
As I’ve heard it, it has already begun to break up the Lutheran state church in Denmark, already weak and under-attended as it is.
