This law intends to promote “renewables” by guaranteeing the operators fixed electricity prices over a 20-year period. For the consumer, these gross totals are much more meaningful than the seemingly “small” premiums per kWh that he finds on his electricity bill. The trick here is that what he sees on the bill is only a minor portion of the real story. The total cost is ultimately passed on to him not only by his direct energy consumption, but also over his entire other costs of living. Set aside export goods, all electricity costs charged to industry, commerce, trade and the public sector will, by way of higher prices, charges and taxes, end up draining the wallet of the average tax payer.

Sure glad that isn’t gonna happen in Ontario. I mean, everybody – farm orgs, unions, and even voters – agreed that The Dildo’s green energy package was nohing but ‘splendid opportunities’ for everyone.
I know that there have been some spoil-sport industries shutting their doors and attributing it to high energy costs, and households in arrears on their energy bills are at an all time high, but some people just can’t get in step with ‘progress’.
Meanwhile in Spain, the relationship between Greenie energy scams and poverty becomes more apparent.
“Foreign investors in renewable energy projects in Spain have hired lawyers to prepare potential international legal action against the Spanish government over new rules they say break their contracts.
It is unclear how much claims might be worth, but international funds have more than 13 billion euros ($17 billion) of renewable energy assets in Spain and say that the government has reneged on the terms of their investment.
The Spanish Parliament approved a law on Thursday that cuts subsidies for alternative energy technologies, backtracking on its push for green power.”

Anyone else in Ontario find themselves laughing at news like this? It’s sort of like waiting behind a door to scare the sh– out of someone that doesn’t know what’s coming, but deserves it.
So what’s the problem. Just give credits back below a certain income level, so all the costs are borne by higher income earners. That’ll work, right??? Just another form of “paying their fair share”……/sarc off.
Criminal activities by greens. As with so much of Green politics, this is designed to transfer money from poor people to the wealthy.
And does so, effectively.
Closer to home, I’m hearing dozens of personal reports from senior citizens living in their own homes are going to food backs because, on fixed, reduced incomes which are not adjusted for inflation, it has become a matter of heating the house for the winter or cutting back the food bill.
The cost of energy in Eastern Canada has been inflated past the means of many by government gouging, meddling in the energy patch with disastrous green energy white elephants and sustainability/carbon sin taxing at the producer level.
No jurisdiction in Canada is worse for this than Ontario. This is a province which was not only energy self sufficient but had an abundance of cheap renewable, clean hydro-electric energy which fueled the provinces industrial dominance. This resource alone has been so mismanaged and plundered by dysfunctional government, that it is a main cause for the province becoming a have-not confederal welfare case.
Seniors are struggling to meet artificially inflated energy costs and stay in their homes – that alone is an civil abomination beyond the criminal mismanagement of the E-energy resource. In a more civil society this would result in the prosecution and incarceration of the public officials who have mishandled such a vital public resource.
The general population of Germany and Ontario are

system. What more could lefty politicians want?
Wynne had nothing but praise for the man that saw Ontario turn from the economic engine of Canada to basket case under his leadership. If she is elected the only change I would expect to see is more seniors freezing in the dark.

Which philosophy seems to hold for your average Lefty/Greenie right up until it becomes THEIR money. When half their income goes for taxes and the other half to pay the heating bill, then it becomes a problem.

I’m glad you brought that up, Occam. I think we should be able to sue as the cause of these huge hydro bills are due to criminal mismanagement.
A couple of weeks ago read an article on Greece,and the only growth industry there now is the sale of wood stoves.(and illegally logged firewood. And I always had the image of Greece as being fairly lacking in forest cover.

Sweetheart deals for IPPs (friends of Campbell the crony capitalist Fiberals), a stepping of Hydro rates, run Hydro at a deficit (by skimming funds to gunbmint coffers), and best of all, install ‘smart’ meters, that are designed for time-of-day goug…..er, “rates”…..and with the Dippers following behind them, they’ve got lots of criticism, but SILENT on what they would do……
Occam, it ain’t just the lieberals that F up on the hydro file, Hairass was paying Clithrow 2.3 mill/annum, to run a monopoly???, and then the cow sued when she was turfed for slopping too much at the trough. Yup, could produce more cheap power than we can use, butt our betters know how to screw that up big time!!!
I hate to think how many hours I have to work to pay inflated hydro costs and through taxes for the green energy fiasco.
And in Ontario we also get to pay a never ending debt retirement fee. I beleive that particular debt has been paid twice over now, but there it is on every bill, for what must be at least 20 years.
I should add for those of you who may not be familiar with the folly of this debt retirement fee, it was required due to prior mismanagement and probably will never end due to current mismanagement.
Must find an island of sanity.
