Justin Trudeau’s speaking fees:
“I’m not going to talk about this anymore, because I’m setting a new standard for transparency.”
Indeed: “Sir Talks-a-lot as an MP … paid with your taxes. Featured speaker at public institutions, paid by hmmm, err, your taxes again.”

Government kickbacks.
He’s got two jobs, Mon!
Sir Talks-a-lot as an MP, wait your turn though. Paid with your taxes.
Featured speaker at public institutions, paid by hmmm, err, your taxes again.
On need to know………that’s it.
He never claims it was a high standard of transparency , just a new one.
Oh Shiny Pony, no contradiction there. I can see you’ll be extending your middle finger just like your old man.
So Shiny Pony is channeling his inner David Suzuki by demanding taxpayer funded schools pay him to talk . . . .
Does he get a posse of mini skirted cuties like Suzuki?
Feminists everywhere want to know what kind of skank he really is.
Justin Trudeau is an opportunistic scumbag and enamored of himself. In his little universe he deserves all the adulation he gets and obviously sees nothing wrong with charging a school board $780 for a limousine to take him from Ottawa to Kingston and then on to Montreal.
Of course, the Trudeau family, in the eyes of the Librano$ and the media, are royalty. All Justin’s lacking is a crown.
KVB, he’s already extending Le Trudeau middle finger by fleecing mere plebs for his presence: He has graced them with His Greatness. They should be grateful at any price.
What a puny moral pygmy.
Yes it does appear he has a new ‘Liberal’ interpretation of ‘Transparency’.
Remember Justin’s own words from 2010:
“Canada isn’t doing well right now because it’s Albertans who control our community and socio-democratic agenda. It doesn’t work. (Canada is) better served when there are more Quebecers in charge than Albertans”
Our public sector unions must ensure that happens.
The guy is nothing more than a prissy, vapid asshole.
Shiny Pony = Sir Lisps-A-Lot
How much would it cost to never have to hear his whiny voice again?
So, the public servant dickheads that cut these taxpyer cheques for Puss-in-Boots – they gonna be executed………or elevated????
It begs a cartoon, doesn’t it?
A wee piggy with a goatee and long eyelashes surrounded by tax-payer troughs, with an exasperated look on his face. The caption: “The brutal life of a Liberal MP – so many tough choices, so little time!”
But, he’s so dreamy! Just ask the college girls (and hipster boys) who swoon over him.
Question….if shiny pony and his mommy went to a Stones concert, would it be considered a supervised custody visit?
Just can’t wait for the Star and Globe ‘n Mail to get ahold of this.
I mean, this taxpayer rip-off is almost as bad as a $16 glass of orange juice….
Following the example of the public service glitterati, perhaps I could get the taxpayer to pay me $30,000.00 for the hour-long speeches I have to give to residents on life-saving topics such as management of the difficult airway in trauma patients and the like. But then I guess I’m not one of the self-anointed entitled who is entitled to his entitlements.
These taxpayer-funded nouveau nobility just make me want to puke.
He is just a sipper compared to The Fruit Fly PIMP David Suzuki when it comes to sucking up tax dollars for speaking engagements for charities and publicly funded schools etc. Says a lot about their characters. In bygone days wealthy folk would speak at public fund raisers for charities etc for free. Liberal socialist parasites. Socialist Bots.
Gord, FWIW, 1 round of mil surplus 5.56mm costs about $.40.
With paid speaking engagements for sitting MPs being an issue on Sun News of late, and the MSM going after Senators, I wonder if anyone will question how much Romeo Dallaire gets paid for his speaking engagements?
I suppose he might be funneling money from speaking into a charity, but I’ve never seen any mention of him doing so. If it’s a questionable practice for a sitting politician to be paid for public speaking events, then surely he’s fair game as well, no?
Within the last year, I know Dallaire spoke at a pro-D day event for teachers in the lower mainland of BC. How many public education dollars were spent on Dallaire’s talk that could have been spent on our ‘cash strapped public schools?’
I’d like to see how many $$ this guy would make on the speaking circuit, NOT INCLUDING government-funded agencies like schools, universities, etc. Not much, I’m guessing.
He’d make more money on a “Justin Trudeau Non-Speaking Tour”. We pay him to not speak. Sounds good to me. I’d contribute.
We can lament or make fun of this travesty all we want, but the truth of it is that he will surely win the Liberal leadership and there are enough empty headed teeny boppers that will vote for this vacuous vacuum that he has a good chance to be PM.
The only money I would contribute to a scumbag Trudeau would be to pay for Justin and his brother to go on a trip to the mountains in the winter to visit the avalanche zone.
I agree with Ken. Trudeau can trot around saying nothing, but it doesn’t matter, there are plenty of idiot voters out there who don’t want to think for themselves. Similar to how Obama got re-elected. It’s truly frightening. Has JT said ANYTHING? ANYTHING, (other than “Harper’s a big meany”), at all about how the country would look with him in charge?
Ethics Commissioner A OKed Justin Trudeau speaking events as MP
This guy is better paid than Chief Spence!
What did anyone expect, he learnt all he will ever know from daddy, as with Pierre the Idiot this cute little boy, believes the taxpayer owes him a living.
As Canadian royalty he is entitled to his entitlements. Or so he and his sycophants think.
gordinkneehill: “How much would it cost to never have to hear his whiny voice again?”
I’m in. Where do I send my donation?
Now even some personalities at Sun News are trying to walk it back. It may be all fair in the eyes of politicos and media types it stinks for all us poor saps paying the tab for this “young man with a family” who also happens to be filthy rich simply because he was born and is making a cool quarter mill as a sitting(?) MP. They can spin all they like. Any sitting MP or Senator who is cashing in on their words should be fired. They all knew it stinks and that is why it has been kept on the qt until now. Slimeballs.
Maybe we could all chip in and buy a villa in Patagonia to give him on the condition that he renounces his Canadian citizenship, and remains there forever.
I believe the “speaking ” engagements are a way for a company,Union, college,or other supporter,to get around the political donation limit laws. Instead of donating a mere thousand bucks, said organization can pay Justin 25 thousand to get up and mumble a few words. That’s probably why Justin is so reluctant to show us where the speeches were made.
Good strategy,and perfectly legal.
Lessee now, ten speeches to the Power Corporation @ $25k each = um, quite a bit a’ money. But,of course, that’s only speculation,as the Liberals learned the error of their ways in Adscam and are now an above board and forthright bunch.
And if someone PAID me $25,000,I’d go and listen to one of his speeches.
The Pony and Strombo spoke at the University of Manitoba a couple weeks ago, at an event put on by the student union. I’m sure none of the involuntarily extracted union dues paid for that, or anything. At least they’re consistent.
dmorris, You hit the nail on the head.
“And in return for your favourable vote on that legislation Mr. Trudeau, we’ll cut you a cheque for…”
“No don’t do that, that would be illegal; just invite me to speak at a function.”
because I’m setting a new standard for transparency
Right you are, Justin, baby. We see right through you.
Boy, wait till Tiger Tim hears about all these publicly-financed Ontario institutions pissing tax-payers’ money away like this…
DMorris, right on its the same with the Fruit Fly Pimp David Suzuki, his former job was breeding fruit flies. Now he rakes in major tax cash from his lame Nature of THings that has been running forever on CBC and sucking up endless tax dollars. If you look up the Board of Directors for the Suzuki Foundation, you will find CBC stars on the board…
How much the brain dead are willing to pi$$ away on the silver spooner is one matter.
What concerns me is if he in concert with the LPC are using his speaking gigs to funnel money into the party.
Ethic commissioner giving all MP’s a green light to skip out when parliament is sitting to earn extra cash speaking . This stinks??? I notice that both CBC and CTV approve of the ethic commissioners decision.

There are many useless episodes of the Nature of Things, but this year’s series on plate tectonics and the “Ring of Fire” was interesting, educational, and quite beautiful to watch. The photography was stunning, the animations informative, and he almost never spoke of global warming.
All the more reason to take attendance in Ottawa and adjust MPs and senators salary accordingly..
Dmorris. By George, you have it EXACTLY right!
These fees to Pierre’s Pup are nothing but a method of supporting your dickhead of choice and eluding the political donation legislation – without, I might add, the inconvenience of paying for it yourself.
So, take 15 grand of public funds, send it off to Puss-in-Boots as a ‘for-services-rendered’ cheque, and he can use it later on to fund his campaign.
So … we are all contributing the the Justin Fund …. big surprise.
The real story here is that scumbag reporter at the Ottawa Citizen….
Gee. This story must be BS.
I mean, I just watched CTV Otawa News, and there was no mention of this.
They had the story about the Min. of Indian Affairs stepping down, but nothing about Puss-in-Boots using taxpayer $$$$ to fund his campaign.
I mean, c’mon now SUN NEWS, did you just make this stuff up or what?
He’s just following Liberal standard operating procedure – take fees for doing what you are already paid to do.
Leaving aside Mr. Trudeau for a moment, you might go a step further and inquire why an organization, so clearly in the provincial realm and funded so heavily by a provincial government so badly in deficit and debt and currently in a nasty dispute with teachers over (labour) costs, would not understand that a payment to a currently-serving member of the federal parliament would not pass the smell test and would be a public-relations disaster. Why, several years back, municipally-owned local electricity distribution utility corporations in Ontario (created pursuant to provincial statute) were roundly criticized for making much smaller contributions to provincial Liberal politicians — I would have thought that episode would have been treated as a cautionary tale by other similarly-situated outfits.
This type of arrangement seems highly unusual to me in other ways as well: it’s not normally elementary or secondary school boards that pay big bucks for big-profile speakers (what did Mr. Trudeau do, speak in a high-school gymnasium or something between basketball and cheer leading practice?). It’s normally post-secondary institutions that do this type of thing, and the folks that they bring in are usually past the stage in life where they are still actively involved in public life. Mr. Trudeau doesn’t fit that category — he’s not been around long enough or held any position which would allow him to have gained, as of today, let alone 2010, any particular insight that would be worth a $15,000 lecture fee.
Not only was this stunt blatantly politically-motivated and favouritist, but it puts the lie (as if we needed another example) to the notion of the benevolent professional civil service looking out for the general public’s interest in a politically-neutral way: whoever approved this contract should lose their job, and Mr. Trudeau should refund the money.
Yeah buddy, that’s his own hair.
something I have never found, did the libs pay back the Adscam money or did Borat Dion ever pay back his leadership bid, methinks noooooot
When I heard Ezra raise this earlier today it really set things clicking together. It’s such a simple way to circumvent the new lobbying law one would think he would have been a bit more careful. But we all know who the real masters of such hijinks are, so the wee lad has this sort of thing in his dna. He can’t help but be a crook. I wonder how long until the corrupt media is embarrassed into covering this?
“…inquire why an organization…would not understand that a payment to a currently-serving member of the federal parliament would not pass the smell test and would be a public-relations disaster…”
But you see David, they DO understand – but they know it will NOT be a public-relations disaster.
They have gauged the docility/disinterest/stupidity of the average Canadian – so they just don’t worry about potential consequences.
If he is setting a new standard for transparency it makes me wonder what his old standard was. I would like to write this clown off as a waste of time, but then the reality that two thirds of Canadians were pleased that Obama won a second term brings me back down to earth. A crowded elevator always smells different to a midget. We have too many midgets.
Thank you.
Why would a school need to spend ten to fifteen thousand dollars to hear Justin Sparklestar say nothing?
Start defunding ALL schools. Let’s see if they have the money for that kind of nonsense when there is no public wallet.
