  1. Look out the window and wave to your friendly baggage handler:

    A ‘terrorist sympathizer’ linked to a notorious airline bomb plot is claiming he was unfairly sacked as a British Airways baggage handler because of his religion. Counter terrorist police found an apparent plan to groom Shahzada Khan to place a package on a plane bound for America.

    The Daily Mail article notes that police who checked Khan’s computer “discovered speeches by Osama Bin Laden and (Anwar) al-Awlaki” and — this is the best part — “clips of ‘martyrdom’ and explosions interspersed with an image of a (British Airlines) executive clubcard…”

  2. You know that the media smells blood and they are all piling on with this robo-call thing. I don’t know the truth of the matter because the media and all their cronies are frothing at the mouth rather than actually report. I hope it blows up in their faces 🙂 then again, maybe the evil CPC did it on purpose as an experiment in 12 ridings so they can use it in all the ridings next election!
    Meh, if you are stupid enough to think that Elections Canada is going to robo-call you, you deserved to go to the wrong place to vote!

    “Democratic pollster Stanley Greenberg is out with a must-read polling memo this morning, which offers some eye-opening advice to President Obama and his re-election team. After testing several of the president’s economic messages, he finds the argument that the economy is back on the right track polls miserably – and ‘produces disastrous results.’
    “‘It is weaker than even the weakest Republican message and is 10 points weaker in intensity than either Republican message,’ Greenberg wrote. ‘A third said this message made them less likely to support Barack Obama. Alarmingly, this message barely receives majority support among self-identified Democrats – and even less support among all other groups.’
    “The memo reads as a glaring wake-up call to the White House, which has been trumpeting improving economic figures lately. Greenberg notes that voters are reporting ‘no improvement’ in their job situation since last June, and have experienced reduced wages and benefits and health insurance coverage. The picture Greenberg’s polling paints is an America public still deeply pessimistic about their future, and skeptical of Obama’s handling of the economy.”

    I can’t help but think that were witnessing the same polling situation as last year in Canada, where the pollsters are way out to lunch.the signs r the same.

    Right. So after more than a decade of declaring that the debate is over Gleick now claims he’s all in favour of it. He also has the chutzpah to suggest that it’s those on the other side of the fence who are preventing such a debate from taking place.
    Now let’s add one more detail to the mix.”

It is not about whether CO2 is increasing: it clearly is. It is not about whether the increase in CO2, by itself, will lead to some warming: it should. The debate is simply over the matter of how much warming the increase in CO2 can lead to, and the connection of such warming to the innumerable claimed catastrophes. The evidence is that the increase in CO2 will lead to very little warming, and that the connection of this minimal warming (or even significant warming) to the purported catastrophes is also minimal. The arguments on which the catastrophic claims are made are extremely weak – and commonly acknowledged as such. They are sometimes overtly dishonest.”
    Lindzen’s presentation isn’t too slick, but the content is excellent fodder.

Here is a youtube video from the wall street journal interiviewing heartland institute president joe bast over the peter gleick/fakegate issue. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u1MVWHzeb7E It provided a good summary for me as I was aware of the issue but had not looked into it enough to find out what gleick actually did. I must say, as a science teacher, I wholeheartedly agree with what bast says about open debate and critical thinking. Sorry about the lack of an actual link you can click on – I used to know html but have forgotten all the commands.

    Among many other revelations, someone there posted an email that explains why the alarmists are up in arms.
    Not only has one of their star alarmists been forced to resign in shame but he probably did so because the cause is desperate and now resorts to criminal activity.
