When justifying their party affiliation, Conservative, NDP, Bloc and even Green supporters typically will recite a set of reasonably specific policy positions and values. With Liberals, on the other hand, you tend to get empty cliches and historical references built around the tautology that the Liberals are great because they are the party of greatness.”
    Kay goes on to write that one of the two ways “Liberal self-love sabotages the party” is that it “has made the Liberals existentially incompetent at the act of opposition, since the role itself is seen as an insult to the natural order of the universe.”
    Truer words were never spoken. Have you ever noticed that even certain media outlets treat the fact that the Liberals aren’t in power as evidence of something wrong? It’s sort of a “What’s wrong with the Liberals? Why aren’t they in power? They’re supposed to be in power. This is weird…”

  8. EBD, I read the article and agree with your last paragraph @ 12:57. A Liberal friend of mine says that the Liberals being out of power is a temporary aberration.
    Yes, I know, a Liberal friend? This friend would be an old army buddy. We try to avoid discussing politics as much as possible.
    BTW, speaking of pianers, I miss the time when our children were still at home and practiced their pianer lessons. The consolation is that now one of them teaches voice and pianer and participates as a support singer in local operas.

    They are controlled by video game experts sitting at consoles in Arizona.

  15. The kind of ordinance that may very well be deployed in Iran, will not be carried by drones. We’re not talking about taking out a building or vehicle.

    ‘Case in point, Peter Mansbridge’s One on One with Justin Trudeau, a re-run aired on the CBC last night. I was glued to the tube like watching a train wreck. Even Mansbridge, looking increasingly uncomfortable as Justin spouted platitudes, generalities, and cliches, seemed to be aware of the vacuousness of his subject.
