Now is the time at SDA when we flashback!
Connecticut, USA , 2010 – Then it got worse: Reporters started showing up at Shahzad’s house in Shelton, waiting for the arrest to happen. Shahzad was actually up the road at a ramshackle apartment he had rented in Bridgeport. That’s where officers were watching him — but apparently that also was leaked. A TV reporter showed up there and waited.
Beach In Somalia, 1992 – As Navy Seals and Marine reconnaissance teams came shore under the glare of television lights, the spotlights and flash attachments gave away their positions, interfered with their sophisticated night-vision equipment and gave night blindness to commandos who wanted to have their eyes fully adjusted to darkness in case they were attacked from the dunes and scrub.

Another case where perception becomes reality. People and the media are expecting real events to play out exactly like they see on the boob tube, all wrapped up in an hour with commercials. When something real is going down (as they say) then the media expect to be there along with “breaking” details as they happen.
For the bad guys it is a treasure trove of information of both what is happening and lessons on what to do differently next time. Remember, in the Gulf War, CNN was the main Iraqi intel resource.
That would be Connecticut, I believe.
Yes, I always connect my cuts too.
Has anyone considered an all out boycott of the boob tube moving totally to internet news?
No fairies here, just real men.
“That would be Connecticut…”
So noted – thanks.
Dec of 92, I miss those years of Slick Willy just keeping his Willy Slick, messin mostly with cigars and trollops, not totally bent on communism for all, like this flying monkey is.
bartinsky.I you love hating Clinton, have you watched the movie The Clinton Chronicles. This masterpiece will give you reason to wonder as I do, does the MSM report anything but lies and propaganda.
I recall Grenada…
Light resistance…total surprise…
The press was P!ssed because they had no advance heads-up and were kept out for 3 days…
Actually the military took the “trusted media” in with them. “SOLDIER OF FORTUNE” landed with the seals.
When the MSM were allowed in, they searched about frantically among the citizens, trying desperately, with futility, to find anybody…just anybody…who objected to the invasion.
Media cover of the Panama intervention was light too…
HEE HEE
I’ve said it so many times I’m getting sick of hearing it myself, BUT, there is no reason for the Press to be in the front lines of a combat zone, or as in this case, an arrest zone.
They should be kept as far away from the battlefield as possible so the men who have to do the dirty work can do it unimpeded by “Mother” watching over their every move. The Press can be briefed daily,in a nice safe place.
So many of the MSM support terrorism and communism, any detail leaked to them is quite likely to be disseminated for public and enemy consumption.
Freedom of the Press is supposed to be in the words they print, not licence to dash about the world blundering into the way of people doing the real work.
Again,it brings to mind the comment my WW 2 combat veteran Uncle made,”if we’d have had Vietnam style reporting in WW2, we’d probably have lost the War”.
The first casualty of any war is the truth.I remember this quote from a 70s era movie, but its relevance never diminishes.Censorship in any form, is no less an overt act of hostility than a trade embargo or clever use of language to alter the publics perception of the day to day events as they unfold.Old school conservatives like Winston Churchill and Ike Eisenhower made speeches to wake the sheeple up to no avail. It may serve us well to take the time to view these ourselves, weigh the message contained against the current events and make sober measured assessment of what we should expect next.
Hey, psst, media, don’t tell anyone but there is going to be a raid down on 22nd and Vine.
Another media idiot just hoping the Time Square bomber wasn’t a muslim. If this doesn’t show the alliance of islam and the left, wow. Linked from Mark Steyn. You listen to this stupid woman and your jaw just drops.

Interesting article by Salim Mansur. Most interesting part is his contention of the Islamic extremist whose breeding ground is Pakistan.
“If Pakistan is faced with destruction it will destroy the other as it goes down.”
It’s about the most focused article I’ve run across that exolains how a small part of Pakistani culture is determined not drag down the rest of the world to its level.

Fair enough. This article was written December 1992 though. Clinton was only a president-elect at the time. Bush 41 was president when the marines went into Somalia…
I had just left the U.S. military a year before they sent troops into Somalia. I remember sitting on my couch in Missoula, MT watching the SEALs come ashore trying to protect their eyes from the camera lights and dodging the reporters. I also remember saying to myself, aloud, “Oh yeah, this is going to end badly.”
FBI, famous but incompetent. They’ve always leaked to the press when they thought they would have an opportunity to look good on TV. Waco, Elian Gonzales, etc., come to mind.
Someone should give them a course in OPSEC.
