  1. “where he (Layton) met with ordinary families.”
This recurring theme line is ridiculous. Ordinary families as opposed to what? Aliens? More importantly, given his background, shouldn’t it honestly say ‘where he lectured ordinary families?’
“New Democrats know that protecting northern sovereignty means addressing social, economic and environmental concerns – not Prime Minister Harper’s narrow focus on military solutions.”
So I suppose he’d recommend deterring Russian incursions into Canadian territory with snow balls?

  2. The only thing that could possibly improve the hypocritical irony of this theatrical promo would be for a bear to swim out to Taliban Jacko’s boat and eat his left arm.
It should be titled: “sheltered southern urban dwelling detached dogmatist, is exposed to reality and denies its existance preferring instead, to make up politically expedient romantic video instead”

  3. No wonder the Libs and Dips are such brothers-in-arms. One is proficient at producing excrement and the other at hiding it.

  4. Dr. Mitchell Taylor, Manager, Wildlife Research Section, Department of Environment, Igloolik, Nunavut, Canada: “Our information is that 7 of 13 populations of polar bears in the Canadian Arctic Archipelago (more than half the world’s estimated total) are either stable, or increasing …. ÝOf the three that appear to be declining, only one has been shown to be affected by climate change.Ý ÝNo one can say with certainty that climate change has not affected these other populations, but it is also true that we have no information to suggest that it has.”
Dr. Petr Chylek, adjunct professor, Dept. of Physics and Atmospheric Science, Dalhousie University, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada: “Mr. Gore suggests that Greenland melt area increased considerably between 1992 and 2005. But 1992 was exceptionally cold in Greenland and the melt area of ice sheet was exceptionally low due to the cooling caused by volcanic dust emitted from Mt. Pinatubo. If, instead of 1992, Gore had chosen for comparison the year 1991, one in which the melt area was 1% higher than in 2005, he would have to conclude that the ice sheet melt area is shrinking and that perhaps a new ice age is just around the corner.”
Dr. R. M. Carter, professor, Marine Geophysical Laboratory, James Cook University, Townsville, Australia: “Both the Antarctic and Greenland ice caps are thickening. ”
Dr./Cdr. M. R. Morgan, FRMS, formerly advisor to the World Meteorological Organization/climatology research scientist at University of Exeter, U.K.: “From data published by the Canadian Ice Service there has been no precipitous drop off in the amount or thickness of the ice cap since 1970 when reliable over-all coverage became available for the Canadian Arctic.”
Taliban Jack: “4 natives I slipped a fiver to to tell me the ice was going justifies me uing this fraud to scare you into allowing me to extend government regulation and taxation into the smallest corners of your life and the economy.”

  5. Speaking of the libs and excrement,is it me,or does Taliban jack look like he’s holding a big one in,or maybe he’s just sucking in his gut.

  6. Doubt the Polar Bears vote NDP, so who is he trying to fool/impress? He’d need all the horsepower to get out of the way of all those bears.

  7. “ (Layton) met with ordinary families.”
Does that mean that the NDP has written off Vancouver Centre and Hotcross Heddy is a shoe in again?
“So I suppose he’d recommend deterring Russian incursions into Canadian territory with snow balls?”
No I believe he was alluding to The Blue Box program. As we all know, nothing deters a fascist aggressor as well as the sight of blue recycling containers arranged in tight formations of three.

  8. Let me get this straight. The land around Pangnirtung is turning from grey (lifeless and barren) to green (sprouting life), and this is bad!!??

  9. Gee…..
You thought Jack woulda been pleased. What was gray and barren is now green.
…….now Jack……wouldn’t that now make it a carbon sink….to get rid of all that nasty CO2 you lefties whine about……the stuff plants use, to in turn provide us with O2????????

  10. I’d rather go up against a grizzly than a polar bear; at least a grizzly might bury me first and eat me later, I doubt a polar bear would wait.
Fewer polar bears in the Hudson Bay area……isn’t this a good thing?

  11. Notasocialist:
The “feedback mechanism” that concerns paleolith (ancient dirt) academics is that snow (white) reflects light and heat whereas anything with colour (rocks and plants) is likely to absorb that heat.
Prof John Smol from Queen’s has been lecturing on this assumption for a while and people like Taliban Jack bin Layton eat it up because it is a piece of the scientific puzzle that they can cherry pick in order to justify their beliefs. We (Cons) do the same thing, but usually to give more freedom to the individual rather than to take it away.
I for one believe that to remove freedoms from people it should require a higher level of proof than to return those natural freedoms. But then again, I’m just a libertarian engineer, not a politician or fascist.

  12. Joanne,
Polar bears actively hunt humans; grizzlies just protect themselves. So you’re damn right about preferring to fight a griz. Polar bears are also bigger, and they have less food available in their marginal territories.
It’s a shame that most people only know what polar bears are because of the Coca-Cola commercials and greenpeace propaganda.

  13. “Polar bear tastes like bald eagle? Ye gawd man,do yourself a favour and try some real bush meat like spotted owl…”
Isuppose we’d best ask an expert like Al Gore, of Chilean sea bass fame!

  14. I think I’m starting to understand the illogic of the left, if that’s possible.
    To a Conservative 1 + 1 = 2.
    However, to the lib/left, 1 + 1 should also equal 3, otherwise it’s discriminatory.

irwin….it’s really not that hard. You see,to most people, 1+1 does equal 2, but to the dipper/laftard/eco-cultist, 1+1 does equal 3,because they are thinking in binary, having only 2 brain cells, which haven’t been in contact with each other for eons.
And yes jon. The polar bear is the only known predator on earth, other then man,to actually stalk and prey on man. Maybe we just all need more Coke!!

  16. “Y2Kyoto: Is That A 90-Horse Johnson Or Are You Just Happy To See Me?”
My guess is it’s a 90 Hp, 4 stroke Yamaha. Johnson’s are white. Mercs are a high gloss black. That sort of matt black is more in line with Yamaha’s colouring. Plus the contour lines indicate it’s most likely a 4 stroke. The 2 strokes are more boxy looking. Further, I’m gussing it’s no better than a 2-star (2004 emission standard) engine. Which is not bad. My boat is a 3-star (2008 emission standard) and I can tell you that it still burns through a tank of gas pretty fast. It takes me about 2 – 2.5 hours to burn through a 20 gal (75L) tank of gas (~5 miles per gallon). Imagine the optics if Taliban Jack was seen in a big honkin’ truck that only got 5 miles/gal.

  17. Taliban Jack needs to revisit about mid December to see how green it is then.
cold enough to freeze the balls off a dipper brass. and his johnson.

  18. Help me out here…
Why is it that, everytime I hear Layton talk, I expect him to finish by saying, “Try my product”?

  19. Just noticed that EvenRude 90 off Jack Laytons left elbow there… that baby probably puts out more pollution into ecosystem than would have accumulated there in a hundred years if Mr. LayItOn and his photo- op team had just stayed away.

  20. Why is it that, everytime I hear Layton talk, I expect him to finish by saying, “Try my product”?
Actually, just about every Layton guano storm ends in … “if you elect more New Democrats to Parliament!”

  21. “The way I see it, is if the polar bears go away, perhaps the penguins will come back.”
…I wonder if KLM will lend one of their 747’s to help bring them back.

  22. kate…your one-liners crack me up!
And it doesn’t look like Jack was wearing his “mae west”

  23. Hey SDAP: It is by Gawd an Evenrude e-tech 90…an oil belching 2 strohe that pukes a pint of oil every tank into the water through exhaust.
So Taliban takes the dirtiest 2 stroke chugger in the marine engine world out for a spin to oil down the bears and seals..guess that 2 stroke oil keeps their pelts..er.. ah ..uh..”coats” nice and shiney. …mighty white of ya Jacko! 😀

  24. jon – I’ve had my run-ins with grizzlies in the great freezin’ cold bloody north, and I can honestly say that whether grizzlies are protecting themselves or not, the end result would still be the same for me, so I’m not going to even give them a break – like they could care anyways. I’ve seen on the T.V. and read enough on polar bears to know that if they can smell me miles away, they will hunt me down for dinner, well, maybe a snack. ….didn’t want you to think I was daft about bears, like those who get out of their cars and feed them….

  25. joanne
****didn’t want you to think I was daft about bears, like those who get out of their cars and feed them….*****
you didn’t expect the polars to carry a can opener so that they could extract the human meal from the cars, did you?????
