Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

“racial slurs” …What? People in Quebec are a totally different race than other Canadians? Are they Martians?
Very funny, Canuck. Small error in cut & paste, folks. Sorry for the confusion.
Yes, the hockey players on Team Canada are gettin’ it done for CANADA, unlike that idiot Bloc MP. Why the hell should it matter to him who’s captain of a Canadian team? The stupidity of that guy is unbelievable.
Pablo Rodriguez is also making quite a name for himself, and it’s not a flattering one. Ditto for Denis Coderre.
Circus train crash.
🙂
Unproven allegations are good enough for Luc Malo, eh? Evidently he knows about as much about legal rights and procedures as Jack Layton knows about releasing military information. Game misconduct and pucks to the head for both of them.
Today, apart from proving that he is a spincter, he completely contradicted what he said on yesterday’s video.
I wish the MSM would do that comparison while the guy is live on a hotseat.
Never happen, I know, but how about on blogs?
At one leadership course I took I was told that a leader should never ask a subordinate to do what the leader would not do. Luc Malo – not a leader
Luc Malo looks like a cross between Justin Trudeau and Marty Feldman
Take a pill.
Doan’s Kidney Pills.
Is this for real? I mean of all the things the HoC could be doing, they are doing this? Once more I find myself embarrassed to be a Canuck. Even if Shane did say what was alleged, so frikkin’ what! It’s a game, get over it. Next thing you know they will make everyone shake hands after the game. \\sarc
Well let’s see. Canadian politicians are screwing with the moral of our brave troops. They are screwing with the moral of our talented hockey players. What group of patriotic Canadians who are doing nothing other than representing our country to the best of their ability(unlike the politicians)will they focus on next? What a disgusting bunch of fools.
He’s not running … he’s hopping back to his pad … Ribbit.
There is a wonderful movement afoot to tarnish everything positive that we do or will do as a country. The Liberal Party of Canada is hoping to trade a few political shots in exchange for Canadian nationalism. The Liberal Party of Canada is the lowest of the low. (btw, where in God’s name is the moral and upstanding Ken Dryden is all of this, oh, he is toeing the party line….shameful).
“Racial slurs”…whaa??? Pokey linesmen are a “race”?
Maybe in Quebec?
I thought Luc Malo looks like a bad imitation of Groucho Marx.
Mel Brooks Quips: “Luc Malo looks like a cross between Justin Trudeau and Marty Feldman”
Yeah….and comes from a place where most peole’s family tree has one branch…BTW Love his suit…did he mug Don Knots for that?
It is funny how vocal Luc Malo was in the committee, but how timid he became when the reporter asked him a simple question.
I love the weird physical contortions Malo’s whole body goes through whenever he says something. Look at him in that media scrum.
I am a card carrying member of the Conservative party and the PC’s!! However I’m willing to relinquish both memberships if I can run on behalf of the Bloc Quebecois outside of Quebec!! A trader you say, not at all! My motivation is to help them get the hell out of Canada as soon and as fast as possible!!! Vote for the Bloc, please let them separate!!!
Well first of all, if there are allegations against you it is normal to not accept or remove yourself. The air is not clear about you, there are questions to settle. Therefore you should resign or remove yourself. In this case though, Doan was cleared by the NHL, the linesman and him have settled the issue between each other.
And what is best about it, is Doan goes out and plays a great game. He ties the game, he scores the winning goal and then adds a third. The whole team there, regardless of race, sees Doan as the captain.
All of Canada should be saying “Merci Shane!”
All of Canada should be saying thanks to the troops in Afghanistan. Who cares about a bunch of millionaires playing a sport they love? Would that the emotion spent on this sport be spent on the real world….ah, the unconscious country stumbles on.
I’ve been wondering, too, “racial” slurs? Since when is francophone a race? I believe Doan, as it certainly sounds like it would have been out of character, but someone said it. Shocking allegation! I never could lip read what those hockey players were saying!! How can officials who can’t handle profanity ref? They already gave a penalty (to the wrong player, who took it like a man.) Leave it alone. Shame.
This is just America-envy. You see, they had the Don Imus scandal, we need to show that we’re able to have the same thing here.
We’re always playing catch-up.
renounce your pension Malo.
I wonder if Pablo crawled through the ventilation ducts to escape the media.
Guess what – apparently this is all Harper’s fault.

Federal Tories losing touch
By LICIA CORBELLA
Besides being a political power play that is way offside, the Shane Doan affair is instructive on another level.
It shows just how sadly out of touch the federal Conservative party has become.
What cracks me up is the guy that said the slur was apparently a “non-Canadian”. I guess that’s OK.
Melo = F*cking frenchman.
I suggest we revoke Quebec’s status of Captian of Preferential Treatment and vote them and the idiots they elect OUT.
Wow, bet Malo asked his limo driver to take him staight to the nearest bar to pound back a few Bacardi & Pepsis!
Malo is beneath comtempt.
But, the 5 “conservative” CPC members on the official languages committee who voted to subpoea Bob Nicholson are too. (They didn’t make that decision on their own).
When you pander to these sort of people by recognizing them as “a nation” this is the sort of thing you are going to get.
I wonder how Malo would like it if a Website blog insisted there were allegation of him belonging to NAMBLA and he should step down until
until he can prove he’s not a pedophile .
If the child is to young to be I.D.ed he’ll have to provide evidence to prove the child lied and he isn’t a pedophile.
BTW, I though he looked more like a young Tint-Tim with short hair, just give him a paper shopping bag and a UKE to tip-toe through the 2-lips.
Should they stay or should they go?
Perhaps he’s running away because he obviously can’t speak English.
it is long past time when we disposed of commi organizations such as the offical languages commision. who the hell are these bozos to tell ant canadian what to say .
Rumor has it Don Imus sent Luc a candy-gram 😉
Please save us from any more of these bozos, Hairy Rodriguez and Loopy Malo. Yes, Malo does have a little Justin Trudeau look about him, wonder if he’s from the same gene pool?
It really is an offense to all of Canada to be held ransom on anything by the likes of the Bloc-heads.
We’re paying people to sit in the HOC with the intent and sole purpose of breaking up Canada, who in saner times would be condemned for Treason.
Guilt by accusation — another great leftist principle.
… interesting thread over at the Shotgun.
A movement is said to be underfoot to have chimps granted basic rights. Is it possible the Libs/Dips/Blocs are united in exploring this as a way to expand their voting base? This is one of the few avenues open to them these days for expansion.
Even the chimps would be smart enough reject the opposition members now sitting on the Official Languages parliamentary committee.
I must take issue with some of the comments here. While I’me sure that some uninformed hillbillies on sports talk radio with Jaques and Le Coach have an axe to grind with the ROC, I doubt that this is indicitive of the majority of Quebecers.
This was pure political theater rehearsed and performed by the BQ and Libs in a grasping pathetic attempt to prop up sagging polls in Quebec.
The politics of division have been an essential element in the Lib/BQ hold on Quebec. Picture the old looney toons cartoon with the wolf and the sheep dog. Punch the time clock and the war is on, the whistle blows and they amiably collect their lunch pails and call it a day.
Harper’s recognition of Quebec as a nation within a nation and the rise of Mario Dumont and the ADQ has revealed the Lib/BQ’s parasitic symbiosis to be just what it is, an old cartoon.
The BQ need a bone to pick to be relevant, Dion needs the fight to continue to make his claim as a strong federalist leader. Afterall didn’t he save Canada from the separatists with the clarity act? (I won’t even bother with the fact that that it was written by one P. Manning and S. Harper…but I digress) Without this phoney war the wolf has no teeth and the sheepdog is…well…just sheepish.
With a slight variation, in the latest installment of this tired cartoon Pablo Rodriguez (incidently the same Lib MP who brought forward a “private members” bill demanding adherence to Koyoto) and Luc Malo assumed the roles.
It is no surprise that Malo ran for the hills in the face of tough questions. Afterall, the whistle had blown, you’re just supposed to shake hands and go home. Malo is no wolf at all, he just plays one in committee.
Permutations of the same theme are played out by Dion and the Libs on The Afghan detainee and Koyoto files. Flickin pathetic.
Ablee…Ableee…That’s All Folks!
Syncro
Syncrodox: I made the same point late in another thread. That in all likelihood, 99% of Quebeccers probably found this as nutty as the rest of us. And for that reason, the CPC should have had the minimal courage to ridicule the whole thing and refuse to play the childish game. You’re right: we mustn’t confuse the people with those quasi-fascist politicos who really want black limos with their own flag on the fenders (subsidized by the ROC, of course).
Me No Dhimmi
I’ve read enough of your comments to realize you recognize the difference between these two bit players and the people. I just hope others are as aware.
The fact that the likes of Pablo and Luc ( no doubt under the direction of Dion and Duceppe) felt compelled to perpetuate this farce shows the relative desperation of both parties.
What these idiots didn’t calculate was the backlash by a large portion of the Canadian public. For some hockey is a religion and you know how politics and religion mix.
I expect more of this contrived conflict from these leftard fools in the future. It’s all they really have.
Could the Conservatives have played this better? Probably. The fact that they declined to put someone up for the CPAC bit at least showed some political savy. By going along with the original committee motion they played both sides and as such weakened their position. But playing the middle seems to be the name of the game.
*sigh* I guess this is one of those things where patience is a virtue.
Syncro
Synchro, maybe Tories voted to subpoena Hockey Canada official because they wanted them to give proper s**t to this committee. Savvy move. Not one Tory spoke against Doan.
Does anyone else find it ironic that the Bloc’s languages critic seemingly can’t speak english?
der is know need for pipples to speeeeek englash in this country as the rules for piples to get job wit the fed dural goov ern mint is to say the french only. -Borat Dion
da people of de bloc are citizens like us ,an some are french citzens like I apply for in my yut to be one. -Borat dion.
Shamrock
I’de like to think you’re right. Unfortunately I can’t seem to shake the nagging notion that the across board move to the center is the order of the day and this non-issue was no different.
The hat trick here would have been for Conservative members of the committee to vote against the motion, calling it ridiculous and let the chips fall where they may. The other three parties could still have carried the motion and the puck is dropped.
Of course I have 20/20 hindsight and it’s bang on about 75% of the time.
Syncro
Has Malo stopped looking at underage boys?
Bet he won’t answer that one…
Malo is a retard,,What about the 12 french players that all declined to play for Canada?
