Ford and Bombardier are located in eastern Canada in regions that likely vote Liberal. Whenever Prince Pixie Dust writes cheques to them, he is simply bribing them with their own money, something that governments are good at doing.
At the time, El Spuddo is continuing the war against Alberta that his father started nearly 50 years ago. Alberta, as far as he’s concerned, has forgotten that it’s only a colony that exists at the pleasure of Ottawa and that it forever owes Ottawa fealty and monetary tribute. Wee Juthtin is merely reminding us of our lowly status and wages his war not with arms but with taxes. In his mind, Alberta must ever entertain any thoughts of equality, let alone independence, ever again. Any deviation from that must be severely punished.
I was going to rant about this earlier but Alberta is a toasted western. Even if Kenny gets back into power in 2019, so much damage has been done and the price of oil and gas remains low. Last week the price of gas went negative in Alberta meaning you had to pay the distributors to take it off your hands. Western Canada Select trades at a $15-$20 bbl discount to WTI and the Notley government uses WTI in their budget forecasting.
Even after Notley has been driven from power it will have been too late. Albertans got a taste of deficit spending and they will prefer it to cuts in the provincial budget. Kenny will be faced with the Harper dilemma. Cutting the deficit so slowly over time that no one complains. Then no one notices when you have balanced your books and you are driven from power to make way for the next deficit king (or queen) who claims you never really balanced the books anyway and then goes on a massive spending spree. Which leads down the road of tax increases…

Just another version of Pierre Trudeau’s disastrous NEP. Had nothing to do with anything but pulling power back to the old version of Canada where Ontario and Quebec ruled and the western provinces were nothing more than Ottawa handmaidens. Pierre Trudeau’s energy minister Marc Lalonde said the motive was what Albertans had suspected all along: “to transfer wealth from Alberta to Central Canada. The major factor behind the NEP wasn’t Canadianization or getting more from the industry or even self-sufficiency. The determinant factor was the fiscal imbalance between the provinces and the federal government”
Bombardier got all the money that will be collected from tax on income sprinkling.
When is Alberta going to exit this GD arrangement that only benefits the other provinces??? We would be so much better off on our own, not having to kneel before the thieving b@$tards down east as they empty our pockets! Even if Alberta’s GDP remained where it is today, the money would remain in Alberta where it is generated. Does anyone think we couldn’t make deals with the folks to our south?

Meanwhile the Canadian economy is in the sweet spot, as opined by the B of C Governor, probably because of the usual suspect, pent up demand, and of course the booming less interventionist US economy, now primed for upcoming tax cuts.
While we raise ours while simultaneously driving up debt. How low can our dollar go?

Then again this guy thinks legalizing marijuana will miraculously keep it out of the hands of kids, because the drug dealers will just retire, instead of getting kids to sell dope to kids at less than $10/gram, with no excise tax or GST of course.
I’m sure the police will have no difficulty diverting the resources they don’t use going after adult dope smokers. After all, once alcohol was legal, kids stopped using it. It all makes sense if you don’t think about it.

I have searched and searched for numbers
I found numbers for the size of the jets, the number of seats, how far it can travel before needing refueling, et cetera et cetera…
I have even found tables where Bombardier, Airbus and Boeing jets are compared
but I was never able to find numbers on how much quieter in Decibel Bomabardier jets are
and was never able to find numbers on how much in percentage ( or any types of number ) Bombardier jets consume less fuel than the competition ( funny thing is a Boeing can travel 4000 miles while a bombardier can travel only 1500 miles before needing to refuel…interesting isn t it ?)
why are those numbers impossible to find?
is it because those numbers are actually pretty much the same for a boeing or an airbus or a bombardier?
is it because the entire thing is a freakin lie ? ( so liberals would have us believe it was a good thing to give bombardier billions of dollars of our tax dollar ?)

That’s the same tactic that’s used with dhimmis. Since they refuse to convert to the ways of Allah, they’re subject to have half of their income taxed. The object is to make them poor enough that they sell their property to Muslims, further reducing their status with the occupiers.
I am an Albertan and I remember those days well. Trudeau’s biggest fear was that there were rumblings that some of the Big Banks were considering moving head offices to Calgary, cause that’s where the money was. Well, Toronto, the center of the universe and Montreal the most cosmopolitan city in the world, without the Bank’s Head Offices? And going to a little cow town full of rednecks? The horror, the horror.
And yes, I for one could never understand the admiration for Lougheed. When push came to shove he crumpled like a sheet of paper.
But the call for separation of the west is becoming a thing, as Trudeau2 makes it less and less attractive for the West.
