  1. Tlaib: US ‘political structures… built on slavery, and genocide, and rape, and oppression’
    So, Muslim Values?

      1. “Muslim values are; slavery, genocide, rape, oppression, and subjugation.”

Yes, but on the plus side at least they will never have to worry about the truly *horrifying* humiliation of being referred to as “she/her/fired”. THAT outrage might push one into volunteering for martyrdom, right?

  2. Yeah, I’m not fond of people in senior positions who fire employees in unnecessarily cruel or humiliating ways.

Even if you think the US naval commander needed to be removed (which I can understand), Hegseth acted like a jerk.

          1. I worked for more than four decades in the oil patch, and saw (and occasionally was subject to) all sorts of abusive, bullying management practices. It left me with a low tolerance for that crap, no matter what the circumstances.

And you think your school-yard antics are going to work on me? You’re making an ass of yourself.

          2. It sounds like “mewling pantywaist wuss” stuff right up until you’re the victim of some arrogant thoughtless manager. Then you realize how stupid, unnecessary, and destructive it is. Many good military officers now likely don’t trust Hegseth, even those who are glad to see DEI go (which is probably most). What he does to one officer he could do to another.

          3. My god, you mean to tell me military officials can be awfully tough on their underlings. When will the horror show end.

BTW, how many times did you faint watching the recruit training scenes in Full Metal Jacket.

          4. There’s a difference between being tough on underlings, and publicly humiliating them as you fire them.

The former, if done correctly, can improve the military. The latter is destructive, and the actions of a very small man. It’s a profound abuse of authority.

        1. “Go bully someone else. It won’t work on me.”

Calling out your juvenile, TDS-inspired statements is not bullying.

Defend yourself, loser. Tell us all why people who very much DESERVE to be publicly humiliated for their past actions should be treated with kid gloves instead. Tell us exactly what Secretary of War Pete Hegseth said that was so horrifying to you personally (and why).

          1. This officer was doing what the navy — rightly or wrongly — hired her to do.

Tell us precisely what this public humiliation achieved, apart from giving Hegseth a cheap thrill?

          2. It got rid of a useless inept officer, one who probably stymied the carreers of better officers, which is a great humilation for those career military men.

But, hey, you worked in the oilpatch and and suffered some slings and arrows. Christ almighty, who hasn`t throughout their working life.

          3. By the way, when I worked at the Calgary Herald I received death threats twice, so piss off with your puling into your crying towel.

          4. “one who probably stymied the carreers of better officers, which is a great humilation for those career military men.”

If so, whose fault was that? The naval commander or the navy itself? She was doing what they hired her to do.

And the proper response to seeing or experiencing workplace abuse is to denounce it, not celebrate it. Just because it’s common doesn’t justify it.

          5. “By the way, when I worked at the Calgary Herald I received death threats twice”

Then you should know better when you see workplace abuse.

          6. KM, you really are a stupid schmuck, death threats aren’t workplace abuse.

            They come from the outside.

          7. No, the topic was you being a total idiot by passing judgement on US military matters that don’t concern you in any way, shape or form.

          8. “No, the topic was you being a total idiot by passing judgement on US military matters that don’t concern you in any way, shape or form.”

Why would SDA choose to inform us about a matter that doesn’t concern us in any way, shape, or form? And why would you choose to debate the matter, when it doesn’t concern you either?

            Very odd.

          9. You may have noticed that SDA often provides links to news stories from here and there, that’s what many blogs do. Nothing odd about it, except for denselings like you.

          10. “You may have noticed that SDA often provides links to news stories from here and there, that’s what many blogs do.”

Precisely. Stories that might interest us. Then they leave the comment section open so we can opine on them. Last I checked, you are not the designated gatekeeper on which stories we might find relevant.

You’re swinging at some pretty wild pitches here, LS. But it’s fun to watch.

        2. Geez, if I’d known it was this easy to bully a limpdick wimp, I’d have done much more of it. “I mock your tears, wretch!”, and it trembles and shrieks! This is more fun than drowning gophers.

          1. I went camping with a guy who was so gay, when I passed him the insect repellent, he buggered Off! Now hush or I’ll mock you again.

    1. No, that commander acted like a jerk and he got the humiliation he richly deserved. Hegseth is not there to coddle worthless assholes.

      1. That commander was doing what the navy paid her to do. You don’t like it, blame the navy.

  3. “ranked Canada dead last among 31 high-income countries with universal health care for timely access to services”
But we spend more than just about anywhere = too many admin parasites + plain old corruption.

    1. “But we spend more than just about anywhere = too many admin parasites + plain old corruption.”

Just the fact that only Cuba and North Korea now use the same health care system as Canada should be cause for concern in our government…but it’s not.

Any attempt to urge consideration of a European-style system (aka the ones that actually work) is met with howls of outrage and accusations of wanting an “American-style, for-profit heath care system!”

The unions seem to be the real root of the problem here, same as our educational system.

  4. the skin contact thing.
l advocate sending no sniffer dogs to ANY muzzie state for obvious reasons.
this one is just as effective.

  5. Re: My hospital hell

I’d really be interested in how many non-Physician, non-medical staff imposed their uncaring, draconian will upon this poor woman? It seems as though government healthcare has replaced ACTUAL physicians with bureaucrat functionaries.

That’s exactly what government does. They hire armies of bureaucrats to ensure obedience while doing nothing to actually improve life for the average citizen.

    Welcome to government healthcare hell
