Jennifer Bendery is a reporter for the Huffington Post. Her tagline on Twitter reads: “I report on Congress, the White House + political campaigns for HuffPost.” She recently posted this:
A DC resident shared this photo she took at Union Station yesterday. Looks like a scene from the Handmaid's Tale, but no, just another day of Trump's militarization of DC right now. #UnderHisEye pic.twitter.com/lXJaAFmohU

One problem: She is one of the women in the Handmaids costumes!!!
Aren’t the “Handmaidens” supposed to be young, attractive, women of childbearing an age? That’s what’s REALLY wrong with this picture.
I haven’t read the book but that’s what I’m told by Grok, making Ms.Bendery’s theatrics quite laughable.
I’ve seen her…Yechhhhhh…someone tell her it’s “Handmaid’s Tale” not Tail.
I haven’t read the book either, but wasn’t it the women who were imposing this regimen on the fertile women, not the men? As for how the women really dress in DC…
If you haven’t read “The Handmaids Tale”, do yourself a favour and skip it. It’s not unmitigatedly bad, but it’s bad, and its merits are less rewarding than its shortcomings are disgraceful.
It does a very good job of capturing the essentially terrifying emptiness of left-wing thought. The protagonist has been conventional all her life, has trusted authority in everything, and as a result has no sense of right or wrong or even of reality, she can only understand what authority tells her. When authority becomes something that she cannot trust, she is utterly lost, and Atwood makes you feel it. You might find this insightful writing worth the general chuckleheadedness that accompanies it, and bless your literary heart if you do! But I think most of us would still conclude, “why am I reading this crap?” I myself really liked the book, it was laugh-out-loud funny, wackier than the Three Stooges. We are talking pate-slapping, fingers-in-the-eyes shortcomings. But not everyone shares my aesthetic.
She’s ~51

Only way that thing could get laid, she should be grateful.
Trouble with “journalists” these days is they don’t just report news, they feel obliged to create news. They want to be “influencers”. They have been indoctrinated with a sense of entitlement and an unwarranted aura of knowledge and wisdom.
As Kate says: “You can’t hate the media enough.”
welllllll now l’se reawwy confoooosed.

the dreaded . . . . . . . wait for it . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .. .
CULTURAL APPROPRIASHUN !!!! aaaaaaghhh !!!!!
What gets me is that these erstwhile feminists complain about the greatest freedom and wealth generating culture in history (Christianity, for those in Rio Linda) whilst supporting “Palestine” and the religion that ingraines women-must-be-submissive-to-men.
Ironic that she is part of the machine that she’s pretending to oppose.
Without a grievance, the grievance studies majors have nothing. Especially no awareness of what society means the easiest, least stressful life.
and too stooooopid to hide her face in any number of angles and exposures. its digital 200 shots costs same as 1 deleted one. but, stoooooopid . . . . .
I wouldn’t poke that handmade if I’d just got out of prison.
My favorite take on that theme is “I wouldn’t eff that with your dick”.
Pretty peaceful, but not as “peaceful” as a group of Democrat stormtroopers (aka Antifa)
Those outfits….a journalist present.
So totally not staged.
