  1. Called it. Newsome was positively giddy about his chat with Hawaiian Governor Josh Green as they were bouncing ideas off one another about rebuilding after the fire.
I can tell he was excited because he has this obnoxious head bob tic whenever something makes him happy. City Council will be stacked with “Shapers”.
15 minute cities are happening in Canada as well, the Kitchener/Waterloo area comes to mind.

    1. “Kitchener/Waterloo area comes to mind.”

They do seem to be working towards that end. It looks like hammered s__t. Lots of slugs, wandering around stoned, crashing, burning out, dying and getting closer to dying. It is not a pleasant atmosphere.

From what we’re seeing, there can be no safe amount of fentanyl or whatever it is they’re giving away.

There may be a medical exception with fatal diseases that are painful. My mil had patches and a large bottle while she was dying from cancer. A very rapid and ugly form of cancer. It was quite literally eating her face.

15 minute cities are trash bins.

  2. I’m pretty sure they started rebuilding the day after Trump left, like they said they would. Because they wouldn’t lie to us. Right?

  3. How many posting here today grew up in a small town? What would you think of fifteen minute cities when it comes to comparing it with a small town? We could get just about every where in 15 minutes. We walked to school, no school buses, my mother could walk to the store for groceries if she felt like it but usually just called and had them delivered. When it comes to daily living small is pretty good. To say that was all life should be would be foolish, as we also owned a farm which we used as a summer cottage, took trips around the surrounding provinces where we lived, visited family in the U S. In short there is nothing wrong with day to day small but to say that is all you are going to have, well, my response would be war.

    1. I grew up in a small town, lived in one for several years and now live in the country where everything is 20 minutes away. I used to have a condo in downtown Toronto (near King and Spadina) and I can tell you that the downtown of Toronto could not support a 15 minute city limit because 90% of the people who work there can’t afford to live there. What could work is a small number of rich people who can go anywhere and a large amount of poor people taking public transit.

      1. That’s what the bike lanes are for. Just make it impossible for anything bigger than a scooter to go anywhere.

Didn’t I read somewhere that all the myriads of bike delivery dudes downtown are foreign “students” who live in Bramladesh and take the Go train downtown every day?

    2. Trusting California to do ANYTHING rationally or functionally is a time-proven error. When they say 15 minute city I believe they mean that the elevator ride up to your tiny apartment in your Soviet Bloc style cement high rise will be no longer than 15 minutes. It will also be thoroughly outfitted with camera surveillance of all public (and some not-so-public) areas.

    3. Wait until someone finds out PP was founded as a Methodist enclave. Ah! White Christian alert!

  4. Hahahahaha!!

Made my day. I don’t take satisfaction in anybody losing their home but this is sweet beyond words.

Vote it and Live it, lefties. And sympathies to any repubs who have to deal with this leftist fascism.

  5. Like Jasper, this is imposition: re-planning for their convenience-of-control. But they are not going to survive long enough, are now trying to ignore the coming wrath and vengeance.

  6. Residents of what was exclusive Pacific Palisades are facing the reality that they are a lot lower on the “elite” food chain then they had supposed prior to January 7.

    1. Watch the lawsuits fly every-where. LA had best raise the taxes. They are going to need all the cash they can find.

  7. Newsom is salivating at the prospect of building a new liberal nirvana completely funded by the federal government. Robocop.

  8. All so predictable in this Marxist State. This unaffordable leftist State. The loopy leftists destroyed single family residential zoning as the Marxists “Dr. Zhivago” solution to the State unaffordable housing crisis … make “the rich” PAY for “the people’s” housing. Take over white suburbia with high density housing. Make whitey pay! Move low-income “folks” into suburbia. Get some po-kids into whitey’s high performing schools. That’ll cause all the po-folk to get that good white suburban education … by osmosis.

    Marxism is a mental disorder

    1. L – “Net Zero homes” The most quickly built ones are beach front properties; they are called sand castles.
