Here’s a very confusing recent interview with Democrat strategist, James Carville. In it, he states that if Joe Biden had left the race in May 2023, the Democrats would have won the November 2024 election hands down.
Some obvious questions for Mr. Carville are these:
- If another Democrat leader had replaced Biden, would they have changed ANY Democrat policy, given how beholden they are to the Extreme Radical Left?
- From Day One, Biden & Harris’s policies tanked & strangled the American economy. Would another Democrat leader have gotten off of, “tax more and spend even more than that”?!?
- Biden & Harris clearly enacted a policy of unbridled, undocumented illegal immigration. People have grown sick of this. Would any other Democrat leader have changed this?
- Even without importing illegal immigrants, Americans have grown sick of unpunished “legalized” crime … even in ultra-Democrat California. People aren’t fooled by medals given to George Soros.
- The 2024 American election proved that very few people are listening to the legacy media (aka Democrat propagandists) anymore. Changing leaders wouldn’t have altered this at all.
Carville definitely had his place decades ago but he either hasn’t caught up to the new realities of the 2020’s or his brain is so infected with TDS that his thinking is deeply muddled.

I agree with Carville. Because, if Biden pulled out in May, they would have been forced to open the primary and Harris would not have even been a blip on the radar. That changes the entire dynamic. First of all, the candidate is no longer tied directly to Biden’s failing policies. The candidate would not be scared of actually campaigning in a traditional fashion (which includes interviews with candid responses). But, the major alteration would have been the campaign strategy (in which Carville was a master). Carville didn’t use polls to determine the state of the race. He used them on a state by state basis to determine the single most important issue to the constituents of that state. Then, he’d send in the candidate to do nothing but rallies and interviews harking on that singular issue. That’s how you use polls. And, that’s how you win individual states. You may recall a Zoom call that Carville participated in with about 300 democrat strategists. He went on an expletive laden rant and hung up on the call. It’s because those running Harris were doing the absolute opposite of his tried and true strategy. Eventually, the Harris people gave it a shot….but got caught giving two diametrically opposed messages on Hamas/Israel in Michigan and Pennsylvania.
Democrats only win presidential elections when they falsely lean towards the center. Harris had no way of doing that. First, she was responsible to a large extent for the problems of present day. Second, she doesn’t have the tools to speak publicly on anything. Thirdly, her campaign was being run by narcissistic radicals who weren’t capable of listening. They had their own world view and discarded everyone else.
I agree, Orson. Even if Biden hadn’t been turfed earlier, a candidate other than Kackling Kamala would have done much better. In fact, I believe that if Michelle Obama had been the candidate, she would have won. She is very popular to the left and center left, and those people are known for voting for charisma, charm and popularity rather than issues of the day.

I don’t see anyone on the Dem bench who would run as a pragmatic moderate outsider now. In fact, the Dems wiped out their entire young talent bench in the aftermath of the ACA Obamacare vote, and all that remains are the uber-liberal old guard, mostly located in NE or West Coast.

The economy wasn’t good under Biden but it wasn’t terrible either. The immigrants helped tamp down inflation while enhancing worker productivity. Crime was in decline well before the election even got underway.
There is every reason to believe that if Biden had stepped down when Nate Silver said he should that the Democrats would have won. For one thing, they would have had time for a real primary. This would have been very good for them and would have let candidates demonstrate they can hold their own and fight.
Back in 1992, Carville sold us Bill Clinton and a very moderate platform.
