I can hardly wait to see how this turns out.
After a large number of mysterious drones have been reported flying over New Jersey and across the eastern U.S., sparking concern, on Wednesday the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) temporarily banned drone flights in 22 areas of New Jersey where critical infrastructure is located.
FAA officials said the flight restrictions were requested by federal security agencies.
The ban is in effect from December 18 at 4:30 p.m. EST until January 17, 2025 at 4:30 p.m. EST.
The NOTAM says the government may use “deadly force” against the drones if they pose an “imminent security threat.”
I’m an avid drone owner but am pleased with this decision. It seems to be the only way to make an attempt to stop the recent nonsense. But will they stop?!?
Is your drone as large as an suv and can suddenly accelerate to120 mph? Asking for one of our 17 Intelligence Agencies …
Oh! And do you fly them at night?
It’d be slightly more interesting if the FAA had banned the drones in these areas for a further 3 days, until 20 Jan. 2025 about noon…
As if they didn’t back 3-days off that date … for … you know … the optics
So, nothing was damaged, nobody has been hurt, but the FAA feels the need to ban them, because reasons.
oh look. mr snarky weighs in.
mr snarky that the REST OF YOU defended when l objected when the snarkiness was aimed at me for merely suggesting a keyboard trick to read documents by getting to its native url.
oooooooh my the vitriol.
but, par for the course among a certain online demographic.
now feel free to prove me right.
Cope and seethe, toots.

or, OR mebbe we have another bot troll.
aint technology wunnerful !!!
Frankly I’m a little surprised that a member of the most heavily armed nation in the world doesn’t have one of them on his wall.
Its a federal offence to shoot down a drone.
So?
Who told you they were drones?
So someone can check out your daughters booty & ta-tas from just outside her window?
Ok then.
Chinese. Biden was paid $20 million to sell the US out to the Chinese. That’s why Chinese can freely spy with balloons and drones. That’s why Chinese spies are pardoned. That’s why Chinese can kill 100,000 young Americans per year from fentanyl without consequences. That’s why China can shit on America in unfair trade without consequences. And it only cost $20 million.
it only cost the *chirese* $20,000,000.
it cost *America* $XXX,000,000,000 plus.
you folks didnt ‘dodge a bullet’. Donald did that.
you folks dodged the financial/social/legal/political equivalent of
an all out nuclear attack spread over next cpl decades.
So the people that were already violating airspace regulations are going to stop now that the FAA is big mad. The FAA might use the FAA Air Force or the FAA integrated air defence system of New Jersey to enforce?
The TR-3B has been seen by people for many years now. The concern is what is America using them for, especially now?
No drones allowed now? The mission must have been completed.
Is this one of those “if we ban the drones they won’t think it was us” scenarios?
Is this a tacit admission that the government knows more about these drones that they’re letting on?
I ask, because would the FAA be able to ban the drones if the drones came from another country?
“Is this a tacit admission that the government knows more about these drones that they’re letting on?

They know everything about those drones, because they own and operate them.
The idea that any foreign government is flying swarms of drones in from the ocean to invade New Jersey *with their flashing lights on* while the US government and their military shrug their shoulders and do nothing about it is just ridiculous, frankly. We will eventually find out why the US government is doing this.
…But is the fact that FAA is banning the drones an admission, albeit, and unintentional one, that the drones are actually managed by the U.S.?
It’s pretty clear to me that they are, but I’m asking if the FAA’s Ban is a sort of a “let the cat out of the bag” moment.
Now ban murder in NJ.
