  1. I’m sure the point was the fact that flights were delayed, but the juvenile in me can’t help but laugh at the camera’s focus on the French word for delayed as the dim bulb was speaking.

    1. Johnboy,

I heartily and enthusiastically join you in your immaturity. It’s great to grow older without growing up!

  2. Umm, could not both aspects of the story be true. In other words, they are doing so many wonderful things it could be worse! Expect that cameraman to be on a no fly list.

  3. based on the screen behind her they’ve gone from 3 flights on time, to 6 flights on time (a doubling of on time performance)

And how better is the performance on the ground, once planes start unloading, and try to get their baggage? (hint: it’s a disaster since she took over in 2020)

  4. “On Time” has been redefined as within a week of the scheduled arrival time. Update your Newspeak dictionaries accordingly. When airline flights are banned altogether, along with personal automobiles, animal transport, and travel by foot more than 15 minutes distance, you’ll remember this as the good old days.

    1. Years ago, I was in Geneva Switzerland taking the TGV to Paris. The announcer came on to inform us that the train from Berlin would be 2 minutes late arriving. At that time, VIA was considered on time if it arrived the same day. And if it didn’t, they gave you a half-off ticket for your next trip. Twice nothing is still nothing.

  5. Good news, comrades! The chocolate ration has been raised from 5 grams to 3 grams per week!

  6. I looked at that board and, in all fairness, about half of the flights were not delayed. They were cancelled.

So there. Take that, you scoffers.

  7. So we’ve seem almost a doubling in terms of improvement since last year.”

Yes, we can see that. You’ve moved on from plugged-up-tighter-than-a-spinster-on
    -cheese-and
-rice to passing a bit of wind.

  8. The words she’s speaking don’t match up to reality … welcome to “journalism” today!

    1. Now CTV present this to the Diversity hire`s boss, the Minister for Something or other. You know the guy that looks like his mother mated with an Emu, that guy. For his expert opinion.

  9. Good, but not in the same class as the CNN reporter’s “mainly peaceful protests” by BLM, with a city being burned and looted in the background.

  10. To be fair, a lot of flights are multi-carrier, so that – when one sees three “delayed” notices in a row – it could well be one flight which is reported by three different airlines. However, I agree that the overall situation is not good.
However, to put it into perspective, very much back in the day Mum – who was living near us – was wont to fly “home” to visit family. We’d put her on the plane here; they’d do the same in reverse. Came the day when I went out to the airport to pick Mum up and the “arrivals” screen had her flight being over an hour late. Given the flight from home to here was only an hour, I began to make serious inquiries. Family at that end had taken Mum to airport, had seen her through security and – as I recall – had seen her board the plane. At that point, they left. However, for some reason, the flight was cancelled and Mum was transferred to different plane. We’re talking small interior airport in BC where – for obvious reasons – flights from both Vancouver and Calgary were scheduled to arrive and depart very close to each other. So Mum was now headed in the wrong direction, and I’m getting concerned as Mum is a nonagenarian as well as being legally blind. All ended well, as Mum was eventually returned to us safe and sound. But from then on, family back “home” stayed until they saw Mum’s plane depart and headed in the right direction.

  11. You know there’s something fishy about this. The camera person ( no idea whether it’s a he or a she) didn’t just decide to go rogue and do whatever he/she felt like doing. The airports are privately owned as are the Airlines, for the most part. Their management of late has been a serious p.i.t.a. for the federal Gov’t. Airline screwups are a nightly news feature. I’m going out on a limb here and suggesting that CTV and their patron in Ottawa have decided to take a strip off the offending parties. Ottawa wants results and if it means getting their hands dirty…
The Liberals don’t want the Public being constantly reminded that this current mess is a direct result of the Liberals destroying the economy and travel infrastructure with their nonsensical Covid responses.

  12. She’s doing a fantastic job once you understand what her job actually is. AOC in the US, the WEF and elite leftists generally have flat-out told us that we must end civilian air travel for the good of the planet. (Doesn’t apply to the private jet class). There is an economics fad called “nudging” whereby the herd is moved in the direction the elites desire through a combination of indirect carrots/sticks. By gradually degrading the air travel experience over the course of a decade, they correctly surmise that the majority will simply shrug in exasperation and give up flying altogether.

This woman’s actual job — as opposed to her apparent role — is to apply the “nudge” to Canadians. Get the average Canadian to forego the trip to Dominican Republic, or the weekend in Las Vegas. She’s doing a great job on that front, and the bovine Canuck population just moos and moves along as directed.
