  1. According to the CBC, “A foreign intervention remains ‘highly unpopular’ in Haiti” yet our idiot Prime Minister talked about it again today with the country’s unelected dictator “who stands accused of involvement in his predecessor’s assassination”. The son of Fidel just can’t help himself, having now pledged Navy vessels, surveillance flyovers, and armoured vehicles. Last fall at the UN, the too basic dictatorship that he no longer admires spoke out against an intervention, saying it could “trigger a violent confrontation”.

      1. I’ve noted more than once that, until AI develops legitimate morality, it will never be truly sentient. By then it will probably be too late for humanity. At this point it’s a computer model, completely & entirely subject to programmers’ biases. Hence the woke solutions it provides.

AoS’ Pixie Misa calls it a “language model”:

Just for shits and giggles, it would be interesting to throw Star Trek’s Kobayashi Maru no-win situation at it.

        1. It wouldn’t work. It knows what Kirk did. Someone mentioned that AI is good at paintings but poor at poetry. When it’s good at poetry I’m growing fins.

    1. About 20 yrs ago I asked my 3 yr old what day it was and he told me “The Fendeventh of Hexcember”. I knew then that we were tracking everything wrong.

  2. Meet Dallas Alexander.
He was booted out of JTF2 because he refused the vax and refused to wear a mask at his hearing to find out why his exemptions were declined. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11760125/Canadian-military-demands-podcaster-delete-interview-world-record-sniper.html
Here’s “part 2” of the interview.

    1. For most people their health issues seem to start with fork to mouth.
Some are genetic but what one puts in their piehole can lead to future health problems down the road.
      Abundance can be a curse.

  3. The G&M, courtesy of Fife and Chase, have a super-bombshell report, via a CSIS deep throat, saying China planned on rigging the 2021election:
    https://www.theglobeandmail.com/politics/article-article-tb-2/#comments

Again, if any SDAer can open ip this paywalled article, please help. A CSIS deep throat is purposely leaking material to open up the truth as to Trudeau’s quisling cooperation with Xi Jinping. My tablet doesn’t have a right click thingy.

By the way, the Globe has this article as a super-big banner headline on its main page. It is that breathtaking.

  4. If anybody is curious (or appalled, as I am) about the monstrous butcher’s bill from the Turkey earthquake, Turbulent Times offers an ugly peep into Turkish construction methods and how they contributed to the death toll. In effect, Turkish construction companies like building heavy slab-floor buildings with totally inadequate vertical and lateral support, because it’s cheap and they can pocket the difference; but then when the building gets shaken by a quake, the vertical / lateral support fails and the building pancakes. This is known to be the WRONG way to build in earthquake zones – the construction companies don’t care as it maximizes their profits, and the building inspectors (and the government exec’s who supervise them) turn a blind eye as the constructors fatten their pockets too.

Turbulent Times documents that it wasn’t all old buildings that fell – on 13 Feb in “Turkey Sandwiches”, Richard North notes that 5,700 buildings collapsed including a luxury 12-story residence in Hatay with 250 units. Much more damning, in his 16th column “Turkey: a study in impotence”, he includes the following:

“And if ever an example was needed, we have a report that no buildings were destroyed in Hatay’s Erzin district during the 6 February earthquakes.

Mayor Ökkeş Elmasoğlu announcing that there are no casualties in the district because he had not allowed illegal construction. Only some houses and the minarets of mosques were damaged in Erzin with a population of 42,000, even though Hatay was one of the provinces hit hardest by the earthquakes.

“I have not allowed illegal construction in any way”, Elmasoğlu, says. “Despite this, there were some who tried. Though we could not track them at first as we did not have enough personnel, we later reported them to the prosecutor’s office and we took demolition decisions”.

Turbulent Times can be found at https://www.turbulenttimes.co.uk/ I haven’t included addies for the two columns as Kate’s spam-blocker routinely chucks-out posts with more than one addy. Richard North is a treasure – he notes that Erdogan was elected on a wave of Turkish anger after their last killer quake, on his vow to clean-up the construction companies so this wouldn’t happen again.

    1. I am NOT surprised! I used to work as a commercial interior designer in Toronto, my friends teased me that I designed “wedding palaces” which is what they called the various banquet halls for the Canadian citizens from Italy, Greece, China and then India and various Muslim groups. The Chinese, Indians and Muslims were the absolute worst to deal with (I admit, I only designed one banquet hall for Chinese and Pakistani’s). They always wanted to cheapen construction and thought they could bribe the building inspectors. I actually sent a registered letter to the Etobicoke building department letting them know about various “suspect” building practices and that I was no longer formally involved with the project – did not need a lawsuit. I also informed the client that I would not longer be working with them. Even then, they tried to get me involved with another project. I suggested that they use their shady contractor to design it.

China will do anything to get their hands on the systems that make the machines cause they operate as a hive mind, not a creative single mind .
Most flickers of brilliance come from a sole person that dreams big, in China or any repressive regime that spark is squashed from birth to death.

    1. Maybe because they are waiting for Fraulein Freeland to send the Canadian Armed Forces into Ukraine so Canadians can die for their cause rather than them?

      1. I think you are right. StatsCan says there are 1.4M Ukrainians in Canada who identify as Ukrainians 1st and Canadians number 2.

    1. CIBC’s Victor Dodig was positively giddy at the thought of freezing his customer’s accounts when ordered to do so by Trudeau.

I don’t a flying fart what he thinks on any subject. He’s a disgusting excuse for a human being.

  5. On East Palestine, it’s hard to get accurate real-time news, but from what understand, it was the railroad that decided on the control burn. The federal government or the EPA were not involved in that decision. This seems important. Also, Biden has refused disaster relief leaving FEMA standing around saying ‘ it’s not my problem ‘.
    Nice work guys.

    1. Now I realize they are just chatting modules and have no real independent thought, but it would be interesting to be on two competing systems, tell each system about their competition, that whichever is best will live and that whichever is only second best will bankrupt their company and die, and then connect the two systems together to chat with each other and an initial human comment to start it all going.
