  1. Harper was invited by the Israeli foreign ministry. The news reports earlier implied Turdeau invited him. My guess is that other Liberal, Chretien, was the guest of Justine. Excellent eulogy by Mr. Harper.

  2. No doubt mr. Harper wrote every word of it.
    Any doubt that Justin couldn’t?
PMSH was in the same league as the greats he cites – he just didn’t have the opportunity to prOve it that they did.

  3. A class act, far beyond anything the unscripted Spawn could muster. Israel will miss him even if most of the Canadian electorate won’t.

  4. Spuds handlers knew he would be upstaged in Israel by Harper that is why they refused to invite him. It didn’t work.
They sent da liddle thief along. Another guy with no credibility in the ME. A pair of fools.

  5. Felt good about PMSH’s tone toward Israel. Made me proud to be Canadian for the tough stand he took when it was not popular to do so. Thank you Mr. Harper.

  6. Future generations will look back at the 2015 Canadian election and wonder how this generation cast a diplomat,(not a politician a DIPLOMAT, there is a difference) like PM Harper into the dustbin of history and exclaim, “WTF were you people thinking!!!!” We have three more years of Mr. Li’l High-five Selfie Tater-head to come up with an explanation of why this generation was so brain-dead as to put the Liberals back in power instead of consigning them to the dustbin of history where they truly belong.

  7. Can t believe that The tater tot would send the Cretch to represent Canada at such momentous occasion. Stephen Harper was probably the best PM this country ever had, place him and Turdeau side by side and its obvious that Harper is a Statesman and the tot is just a huge ego.

  8. Reading that and seeing the photo made me long for the days that are past – gone forever I expect – when Canada stood proud on the world stage.
Mr. Harper, do you read SDA? We miss you.

  9. The last true statesman of the Western World, the last champion of the Occident. We were lucky to have had him as our leader, Israel was lucky to have him as a friend.

  10. Seems that many people here feel the same as I.
I almost wish that I didn’t read the eulogy. It reminded me of what we lost here in Canada last fall.

  11. The Canadian electorate will miss him also. They just do not realize it yet. What we have now is a gang of incompetents and a puppet at the top. Harper was one of the greats.

  12. I agree with all the previous comments. I don’t understand how Canadians could have cast him aside for an empty suit any more than I can understand how we Americans chose Barack Obama over Mitt Romney or John McCain.

  13. Your comment on Justin’ (lack of) writing ability reminded me of this, which I received by email:
During a lull between the speeches at a recent Parliament Hill dinner, Sophie Grégoire-Trudeau leans over to chat with the Minister of Defence, Harjit Sajjan.
“You know, I bought Justin a parrot for his birthday. The bird is so smart, Justin has already taught him to pronounce over two hundred words!”
“Wow, that’s pretty impressive,” says Harjit, “But, you do realize that he just speaks the words, he doesn’t really understand what they mean.”
“Oh, I know,” Sophie replies, “neither does the parrot.”

  14. That is why Harper is being ignored. The contrast between him and Trudeau is way to embarrassing for Liberals.

  15. Harper attended the funeral of the former vice-President of the Socialist International.
In 2013 Harper attended the funeral of Communist Terrorist Nelson Mandela.
“Politicians are the lowest form of life on earth. Liberal Democrats are the lowest form of politicians.”
    General George S. Patton

  16. I could understand the polls being a dead heat between Hillary and necrotizing fasciitis; but how can Hillary manage to poll above zero against an actual person? I think pollsters must have joined the press in the race to the bottom of trust ratings. It must simply be that people no longer bother to answer truthfully when the pollster calls.

  17. Former Prime Minister Harper is and was an ethical and principled leader. He respects Canadians and other leaders. That was a brilliant eulogy. Of course he would fly commercial, as he knew always to never spend tax dollars on himself.
I am so embarrassed by Trudeau’s behaviour with the Duchess and Duke of Cambridge, interrupting the Duchess, saying “let’s get this over with” and giving an insincere, fumbling and inarticulate welcome, and calling the couple “you guys”.
I really miss Stephen Harper, a true gentleman and statesman. I hope he will show up on the international stage, as we truly need him in an age when 50% of Americans will vote for someone who is not eligible for a US Security clearance.
