Don’t worry, it will keep getting worse. The cost of gas will continue to rise — and with it, the price of just about everything else. Once this pandemic-induced inflationary period has passed, the Liberals’ enthusiasm for forcing Canadians to lower their standard of living will only grow.

The crime and the graft and the potholes and the bad drainage, not to mention the spotty trash collection or nonexistent snow shoveling, aren’t incompetence. In fact, none of what you see in the American public sector is incompetence. The people responsible for it are quite highly educated and well-trained in their craft. You just need to understand what their craft is.

It’s a choice to do a poor job with the more mundane tasks of running a city, and an educated and purposeful choice at that. If you do those things effectively, after all, what you will get is middle-class voters moving in. Middle-class voters tend to choose to live in places where they can expect to get actual value out of their tax dollars — good roads, safe streets, functional drainage, decent schools, a friendly business climate, and a growing economy, among other things — and those things are hard to produce when you govern the way the Left does.

  4. I don’t know how it is other places, but I have a feeling people better buy some good snow shovels, and boots for winter.
    I can’t see companies getting the help they need to clear snow at 1 am this year.
    A company is offering 40 bucks an hour for plow operators with 5 years experience, I don’t know what they offering the guys shoveling.
    The good workers are going to be enticed to stay, the old fellas are saying fkit, and probably 10 percent or less of young people will take any job that involves a bit of sweat, or common sense.
    Let alone cold temps, and a blizzard or two.
    And I don’t know how big sewer and water companies are finding workers who can lay pipe, pull trench boxes, etc.
    One company I know is enticing retired guys to come back to try and make the hoe operators etc ,more productive.
    It amazing how everything seems to be coming to a head.
    The progs, and their legions of coddling blind minions have done a wonderful job.
    Maybe the bottom will straighten things out, as it seems the pandemic didn’t.

We have two main candidates for Mayor coming up for election; one is middle of the road and the other is a lefty “do-gooder” who wants to spend large sums of money on bike lines, free transit, etc. and has the support of all the progressives, including Mark Carney, international flunky. If she wins, expect the pot-hole index to increase along with the number “safe” drug centers.

      Every single fossil fuel firm in America has been told this, and thus until and unless the government that did this is forced to both retract it and never be able to do it again #3 is what they are and will all do.

      No other choice makes any sense at all.

      You and I are directly responsible for this because many of you have directly demanded exactly this via your green energy fantasies and the rest of us have tolerated both those fantasies and the people promoting them.

      This is the truth whether you like it or not, and the economic circumstances will continue to deteriorate until and unless it is stopped.”

  11. There was a great post on ‘Ace os Spades’ one time. The writer pointed out that the left has protests for fun, to gain temporary concessions and then ramp the violence down.

    We’re seeing that in Europe and the rest of the world. Mostly peaceful protests, little violence or damage…nothing for our leaders to worry about. Or do something stupid….like seizing bank accounts….unless those leaders are completely retarded.

    But when the productive part of society, the conservative part of society finally can’t take it anymore….they have everything to lose and the war won’t stop until everything is changed. In our case, after democide, I like to think that when the next ‘war’ starts, the entire remaining bloodlines of our enemies will be hunted down and dealt with.

    We’re not there yet, but pushing people into poverty brings us a huge step closer.

    And since people who couldn’t resist the government are being killed off at faster and faster rates, the percentage of ‘fighters’….of whatever age keeps growing. At some point, things snap.

    I know our leaders hate us. But, I also believe they fear us….on some level. Maybe on some unconscious level, they are trying to punish us now for the revenge they know we are going to exact later. In reality, they depend on us for everything.

    We will take everything from them and we will be happy.

  19. Why blame Trudeau? The degradation of services has been going on for a long time. It’s what happens when you have to fund the fat pensions of public employees for twenty or thirty years. That’s where the money goes to, it’s not a conspiracy, it’s not incompetence, it’s the forseeable result of decades of union negotiations for fat pensions and a vastly increased life expectancy.
