“National Ballers Association code of conduct.”
That was worth an LOL, for sure. Caught me by surprise.
(not very PC, though…:)
Tuesday night’s all right for fighting.

Starlink in Cuba Challenges Etecsa’s Monopoly
“… a small economic ecosystem has already emerged. There are those who use it to sustain a private business, those who depend on it for remote programming or design work, and those who resell it. A single device can power a small neighborhood network and turn its owner into an informal Wi-Fi provider. Just as people once shared signals from antennas to watch foreign TV channels, now they are starting to share Starlink connections. In practice, it is an invisible small business.
This proliferation explains the authorities’ unease. The Government can confiscate antennas, tighten inspections, and label these devices as contraband technology, but it has not managed to erase demand. Every dish hidden on a rooftop confirms the failure of a monopoly unable to provide a sufficient, stable connection compatible with contemporary economic life.”

My Starlink dish arrives next week! I’ll be paying about $25 less a month than I’m currently paying with Verizon and I’ll be giving business to the savior of free speech in the West.
Looking into this also,
hope you can update after some time with it.
Will do ADD!
Robert … in 1965 … my ultra formal, strait-laced, conservative grandmother who kept an immaculate high end home for her Bridge club … actually bought a lava lamp … because she was fascinated by the forms.
Little did she know, that she was embracing the full psychedelic era. She was embracing the “home version” of the Liquid Light Show … which was all the rage and de rigueur at every concert in the SF Bay Area,

As you know … I still embrace the psychedelic era … in all its manifestations … including trippy colorful liquids randomly changing forms. But kids! Don’t do drugs! Yes, I inherited her Lava Lamp … which I still have … but it no longer works as it should
I wanted one as a kid, but my Dad said no 🙁 So I was incredibly stoked to hear one day a while back that my nephew wanted one, so I was all too happy to give him one for Christmas.
LOL!

Maybe your King can ask you to help the UK out this time?
Monroe Doctrine?
Western hemisphere nations with tenuous ties to the Old World:
… Falklands, Cuba, Greenland, Canada
I like what Milei has been accomplishing in Argentina but abhor the notion that he thinks the country has the right to rule the Falklands.
That’s because the islands belong to the people that live there and not Argentina or the UK, and those folks choose to live under the adminstration of the latter.
To mention a few other examples: Spain says UK adminstered Gibraltar is rightfully theirs, while Morocco lays claim to the Spanish enclaves of Ceuta and Melilla in North Africa, as well as the Canary Islands.
The people that live there are the real owners of the territories. That’s one lesson of the American Revolution.
BTW, I’m not that naive to believe that a war or invasion couldn’t change all that, given the gazillions of time that has happened in the past.
readers tips?
well l got one. a caveat emptor.
unbelievably sad, hope not too many of you encounter this:
the deep discount housewares etc outlets, Dollar Tree and Dollarama.
its almost sitcom worthy. found a full box of wood matches, they dont work,
the striker surface is clean, tried a dozen matches, they dont light.
bought some transparent tape Monday, got it home, the ‘stickiness’ factor is deplorable, worse than lve ever seen for a fresh new roll of ‘scotch tape’.
one should NOT have to press and scrape it down with a fingernail to ‘stick’.
bought a dog collar some time ago, it broke. went to the store, pulled one off the display hook, clipped it closed and right in front of the manager, pulled it open, *it should not be possible to do such a thing but l did*
the quality of the stuff they sell is SERIOUSLY unreliable.
and the very sad part, getting worse!
Made in where?
Possibly by slaves or potential organ doners?
Reminds me of the time I bought a knock off Rolex watch on Canal Street in Manhattan. Me and my friends no sooner got to the subway platform 10 minutes later to head uptown, and the watch cover popped off.
regarding lava lamps, at least one got into the darwin awards:

Normally I do not post stock market stuff here, and I do take articles from the Motley Fool with a grain of salt. But first the posted link says the CAPE ratio has hit a high not seen since the dot com bubble of 1999, 2000. Second, world oil prices have hit about $115 this morning, and looking at a time-series graph of oil prices there is now a ridiculously high spike during the past three weeks.
In Canada there is a stock market crash and a big time economic recession a-coming.
https://www.reuters.com/world/americas/canadas-ivey-pmi-shows-activity-shrinking-first-time-four-months-2026-04-07/
The Ivey PMI index shows the Canatian economy shrank in March. A Google search shows that this tidbit is being censored by the broadcast media.
To quote the great 70s tune by Ace: How long has this been going on?
“ NEW: Mainland China CCP factory employees and Taiwanese warehouse workers have provided written affidavits on how they and others have installed illegal corrupted components into U.S. voting machines FOR YEARS …”
