it’s like the moon has waited patiently for a return visit. after all it waited for the entirety of
human species to get themselves up to speed 1st time, didn’t it?
further on the mission: it was suggested in a previous reply the mission is merely an expression
of the ‘politically correct’ times putting a woman and black with the crew.
well, maybe . . . . just MAYBE in the crew selection process they 2 were deemed MOST SUITABLE
to be selected as 2 of the 4 astronauts. could be, l think so. ‘political correctness’ gonna be watching
from its living room. why? NOTHING allowed to jeopardize success. ALL the crew must be totally competent
in ALL aspects of the mission while concentrating on their specific share. THATS why.

Never understood why we ended the whole moon program. We should’ve built a permanent base up there at a minimum. It didn’t have to be anything spectacular, at least a research facility or something. We went from an incredible high in 69 to I don’t know what just a few short years later? A total lack of imagination. Lame.
It’ll be very interesting to see how much of a difference 50 years of newer technology will make.
So far so good. Let’s hope all goals are achieved and they get home safely.
