    1. “The community engagement process will gather input from Chicagoans across the city to better understand Black Chicagoans.”’

I understand that Chicagoan blacks murder each other in great numbers each week, month, and year. I understand that Chicagoan blacks consider life is cheap and their fellow; men, women, boys, and girls are useless

    2. He’s trying to create a mid-term buy the vote narrative. There have been persistent rumors coming out of Chicago that the city’s black population is a bit disenchanted with the Democrats.

  1. A comment wrt Carney’s recent decision to try and do a constitutional end run to limit the NWSC.
I have no doubt that if the government went through the lawful amendment process they could get the seven provinces/50% support to do so.
The problem for Carney is what he would have to give to those provinces in return to get their agreement.
For reference Sir John A had to promise a railroad to get the BNA agreed to.

    1. … reimagined as a monument to “inequities on the Prairies” including mistreatment of Indigenous people …”

I threw up a little in my mouth when reading this. As IF settlers on the prairie didn’t entirely focus on survival and building a successful future. Any “inequities” were the result of primitive people living primitively … not any fault of the superior culture who just wanted to build a successful farm

  2. https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/ckge1yn50y8o

A bit of a gossipy news tip. But one Scott Mills, the morning Radio 2 host for the BBC, was suddenly dehired by the progressive network over the weekend, for “personal misconduct”. The Beeb did not disclose what the misconduct was, of course (doing so would entail accountability to the public). But at the end of the above article the Beeb mentions that Mr. Mills is married to a man.

The above article mentions that Mr. Mills made lots of money, the 11th highest salary at the Beeb, so one wonders why anyone in this time of economic uncertainty would goof around.

    1. Time for the US to announce it is leaving NATO. The Eurotrash can take itself out from now on.

    2. One of the things Osama bin Laden lamented was the Christian reconquest of Iberia and he said one of Islam’s goals was to take it back.

  3. “Ottawa and Quebec move to save Canada’s only copper smelter”. BNN headline.

I told you guys that was the story. Quebec introduces legislation that makes it impossible for the copper smelter to continue operating. Copper smelter (owned by Glencore) announces it will close. Ottawa steps in with a pile of money to help save “Canada’s only copper smelter”.

And wasn’t Quebec its own country at one time?

    1. So Ottawa throws money at issue that cannot be fixed with money. Glencore execs take the money and run. Ottawa feigns shock.

    1. Yeah, that singer from Smith could definitely belt it out, for sure. I even got a little Janis Joplin vibe from her at a couple of points.

      1. And if we’re doing obscure psychedelic female vocalists from the 60’s (and of course the sweetest year of 1971) … I’ll just drop in Nextdoor to Berkeley … and serve up the gals of Joy of Cooking … lifting their name from the classic cookbook ‘bible’ … which lifted its title from the classic Joy of Sex … both in plain white bindings (not that I ever had both volumes). Classic hippie chicks … who probably had quite a bit of Joy in their day …

I gotta find this vinyl at Rasputin’s or somewhere local

  4. Reports are Brandon Johnson’s positive standing floats between 4% and 6% with Chicago voters. The entire Illinois Democrat slate is running against Trump to save democracy by protecting our (illegal) citizens. The murder of Sheridan Gorman on Chicago’s lakefront by an illegal hasn’t helped Johnson/Pritzker ratings in any voter demographic.

  5. Has anybody else experienced this on X?

Up until several months ago, I could get Grok to produce either cartoon style, editorial cartoon style or realistic images of all public figures.

Now I find it will do this for Donald Trump, but it will not do so for Mark Carney or Avi Lewis; the images look absolutely nothing like these latter two at all.
