As the foreign interference inquiry found:
“The People’s Republic of China (PRC) targets members of Chinese Canadian diaspora communities for the purposes of repression, influence and forced return of targeted individuals to the PRC.
“It deploys a wide range of tradecraft to carry out its activities, one of which is to use a person’s family and friends living in the PRC as leverage against them.
“The PRC uses its diplomatic missions, PRC international students, community organizations and private individuals, among others, to carry out its transnational repression activities.”
Given that, why does the recent trade deal between Canada and China lifting some tariffs on EVs, canola and other products include a joint statement to strengthen law enforcement cooperation between us in the name of “public safety and security”?

“Law enforcement?” You can’t have law enforcement if you don’t actually have laws. What are we, Americans?
Canada’s laws are facultative and depend on the in-group hierarchy.
EDIT…after I posted this, I realised it applies to the next post as well. Efficiency!

Indeed. Quite the conundrum – In situations such as these I pick up the red phone and call the lighting department… tell them to send out the Quick Dick McDick “bat signal” ASAP.
The solution is staring right at us but we’re just not seeing it…Dick will tell us.
The Liberal Party of Canada wants the same power and control over Canadian people and the Canadian economy that the CCP has over its citizens and economy. It’s that simple.
You can see evidence of this by observing their actions and the legislation they’ve passed over the last 10 years. You can see it by the type of legislation they are trying to pass now. From the misuse of the Emergencies Act, censorship bills, continual encroachment on provincial rights and juridictions, spying on people during covid, allowing the military to use propaganda techniques on Canadians during covid, violating constitutional rights during covid, avoiding transparency and accountability by hiding documents from the public by various means…
“The Liberal Party of Canada wants the same power and control over Canadian people and the Canadian economy that the CCP has over its citizens and economy. It’s that simple. ”
I remember Trudeau’s ill-advised musing on how he admired the CCP system.
(wasn’t wrong, entirely…but you just *don’t* say stuff like that out loud)
ahem. re “law enFARCEment, public securitat ” etc;
to pose the question, one must first be QUALIFIED.
that consists of reading Orwell’s ‘Animal Farm’ and
thoroughly pondering the message therein.
and not leaving oz out of the loop, here’s your personal, personal attack storage box! !_!
For those interested in things Chinese political, I came across this youtube channel. I don’t know who she is or what side of the track she is on, as it were, but it does purport to shed some insight not usually available, on Chinese internals.
https://www.youtube.com/@LeisRealTalk
She has some interesting things to say.
There are quite possibly affiliations with Falun Gong (noticed she often has their colors in her set) or the June 4th/Tiananmen Square Movement, so of course those have to be taken into consideration.
We had to move heaven and Earth to rid this country of Huwaei spyware imbedded telecommunication products and arguing ad nauseum with the likes of money grubbing, treasonous Chinese ass smoochers like Stockwell Day, Desmarias and others on the Canada/China Business Council who told us to relax and that all is well.
That was my epiphany.
We’ve been slow rolled since the ’80’s…but it really picked up speed when Chretien retired and opened an office in Bejing.
I don’t think Canadians realize how effed as a country we really are.
Probably started a lot earlier with Maurice Strong
Oh hey…while I’m here. As an Ontarian – Might I just say that when the SHTF and it will, and Alberta splits, Shannon Stubbs would make an excellent 1st President.
Spitballin’
And all Carney has to do is stand firm.
Nobody pays attention to what he’s standing in.
He isn’t a saviour not in the least.
You can beat the shit out of Liberals, but you can’t beat the traitor out of them.
The trade deal and the various joint statements are separate things.
And yes, it’s possible to support the proposed trade deal but have serious reservations about proposed agreements over policing, culture, tourism, and so on. Conflating the two risks throwing the baby out with the bath water.
Sure KM. You often post cogent thoughts, which tells me you are either disingenuous or willfully blind on this. How else beside say this and do that or no deal do these statements which run counter to everything Canada used to be about prior to post national shitholehood get made?
Really?
Ever hear of Northern Telecom?
Or as the Chicoms now call it, Huawei?
Frankly, I can’t believe you believe what you’ve written.
The Chicoms – to their credit – have an extremely holistic approach to dominating everything in the world.
From making grommets to killer satellites, from exporting viruses to importing PPE by raping the shelves in places like Canada.
Nothing is separate.
Its the first rule and the ultimate rule and it is the rule to rule all the rules.
“Really?
Ever hear of Northern Telecom?
Or as the Chicoms now call it, Huawei?”
Hell yeah. Well said…bastards drove them right out of business.
Why oh why won’t you just accept that the Red Chinese are the enemy and the only acceptable amount of trade to be done with them is nil?
There would be plenty of demand for that canola Stateside if Mark Carney didn’t keep giving Donald Trump Trudeauvian salutes at every opportunity, to your continual applause. Most of Canada’s economic problems would disappear overnight if our leaders stopped biting the American hand that fed us and licking the Chinese boot that kicked us.
You split hairs like slick Willie.
” … a joint statement to strengthen law enforcement cooperation between us in the name of “public safety and security”?”
Horrible!! I mean, imagine escaping totalitarian Canada to enjoy the freedoms of the PRC… and then be faced with the prospect of extradition!!!
