  1. Well, in this case it really appears to be, what’s the term….broad spectrum. Except for the cops. With perhaps one or two exceptions their names sound pretty non-DEI to me.

    1. You may be presuming the wrong things. I see the very real possibility of the removal of non-DEI police via broad ranged corruption investigation. Cops and tow trucks goes way way back. A plain sight scandle over and above the more blatant newer stuff. Pretty easy to get caught up in police SOP when you’re a cop. Pretty easy to get called out for it when you’re white. It’s also possible you meant exactly this. Not sure

  2. Many comments on X are saying this kind of corruption explains why police were telling citizens to leave their car keys near the door. It helps their organized crime associates steal your car.

    1. You have to admit that their advice indirectly conflicts with laws that were already on the books in Ontario. They tell you to leave your car keys easily accessible to thieves. BUT, it is absolutely illegal for a car owner in Ontario to leave their keys in the ignition of a parked (and unrunning) car because that would encourage theft. Vehicle owners would be cited for this transgression.

      1. Nothing about Canada makes sense right now. We have definitely entered the Twilight Zone.

        More ominously, are corrupt officers in police departments the reason why homeowners are arrested for protecting themselves from home invasions? Maybe the corrupt officers and their organized crime associates want to make sure their crimes and criminals aren’t threatened by castle laws?

        1. Cops do what the Crown tells them.
          The Crown hates freedom, individualism and self-defense.
          Castle laws are anti-Crown, anti-Liberal.
          However, cops are never to be trusted to do anything not self-serving.

            but the one time l DID leave (intending to detour to the cop shop and report said assault, THEY show up accuse me of (exact quote) “trying to get away”.

            l was TRYING to GET to the cop shop to report the assault.
            you stay like an obedient little puppy and get charged
            you leave to deescalate and preserve your well being and you get accused of “trying to get away”. THIS sdsa is WHY l truly CELEBRATE when any of them are shot to death.

            and lordy lordy, lOOkit whut dun ‘appened right after that. SEVEN of them all dead within a 1,000,000 population area in only 3 1/2 years or about 20 times the average.

            its called Karma. they want to blame the victim?? have at ‘er Karma, kill as many of these liars and bullies as you feel like. it is GOOD when bullies are dead.

  4. Funny thing: the extorsion crimes in Surrey, BC, picked up steam once the transition from RCMP to a regional police force (Surrey Police Services) took hold. Curious…

  5. True story, back in the 90’s I lived across the street from a York region cop. Wife and 4 kids close to my kids age. He was arrested with a few other of his fellow cops for operating a whorehouse in Newmarket. Got a light sentence, (no jail), and left the wife and kids for the madam helping to run things.

      Stuff like that always gets busted unless it is run by/owned by the cops. It’s too obviously a criminal operation to survive otherwise. And so do crooked tow-truck operations, weed and/or mushroom “dispensaries” and etc.

      They’re in on it. They have to be. Otherwise it wouldn’t happen. Even with the ridiculous immigration of hardened criminals from India, it -still- wouldn’t happen. They’d all be getting busted every week, and spending time in jail, every week.

  8. just today l was lamenting the tpical behaviour of cops in this the biggest hick town in the nation.
    to whit back when l was a kid the avg cop was well spoken, tried to project an image of fairness professionalism and devotion to duty.
    l concluded the number of ‘bad apples’ now far outstrips the number of ‘good cops’, signing up to engage in snarkiness, rudeness, cockiness, you name it so many bad qualities.
    and they try to outdo each other for bragging rights?
