  1. I’m curious: recent revelations from the past few years revealed that he raped and abused women.
Has that favourability rating fallen since that last poll in 2011?

    1. Those things won’t be given air time so probably not. King, like every other human being, was both good and bad. You can focus on the good and accept the bad, or focus on the bad and reject the good. I notice conservatives tend to do the former, and progressives tend to do the latter.

  2. For an interesting take on King, watch the MLK Project or follow its creator, Chad O. Jackson on Facebook. He is no longer a fan and has taken a lot if flack for that.

      1. Alveda King and I follow each other on X/Twitter, I like her, when she makes an appearance with The President, I notice, but otherwise there’s zero coverage. She just doesn’t get drunk in public and start fights in restaurants often enough for the media, also she’s a Republican, like her uncle was…

    1. Never say anything the least bit unflattering about MLK on Warren Kinsella’s website, or you’ll be banished. He worships MLK like a god, for some reason.

  3. Meh…I always had a “Yeah, I guess he’s ok” attitude of MLK in my yoot.
I do remember being rather puzzled by my teacher trying to stem the flow of tears the next day. “Sheesh!!! Get a grip on yourself!” I also distinctly remember asking myself why the F blacks were burning down their own neighbourhoods and businesses? SMH. Makes no sense.
Then there were those who rode on his coattails just by virtue of being in the vicinity when he was shot …Jesse Jackson and FBI informant, Al Sharpton come to mind.
Weapons grade shit disturbers. Before the Duke Lacrosse scandal …there was Sharpton and this other black girl, whose name escapes me, falsely accusing whites of gang raping her. I honestly don’t know how Sharpton looks at himself in the mirror at times.
Jackson is sick as a dog but I see Sharpton still crawls out from underneath his rock every so often.

I’m of the belief Henry Ford did more for African Americans than those two hucksters ever did or will … until the UAW came around of course.

    1. “there was Sharpton and this other black girl, whose name escapes me, falsely accusing whites of gang raping her”

      Tawana Brawley.
Not just a “gang rape”. Brawley said that she was raped by a gang of white cops.
She claimed that they raped her, wrote racist things on her nude body, and threw her in a dumpster.
It was a hoax to keep her from getting in trouble with her father, she later claimed.

It was recently discovered that Sharpton was a paid FBI Confidential Informant who received thousands of $dollars and failed to report or pay taxes on these payments to the IRS.

  4. Forget MLK’s being a communist, a conman and a pervert.

If you really want to make a “progressive” flip her lid, remind her that MLK claimed to be a Zionist at a time when Zionism was fashionable on the left—and when, on the other hand, genteel White Americans could still deny the Holocaust and repeat puerile anti-Semitic jokes without fear of ostracism.

(That era only ended after MLK’s death, when Israel threatened to go nuclear in the Yom Kippur War. Our betters decided that pretending to no longer find Holocaust jokes funny was a small price to pay for avoiding a nuclear war. Just one atomic bomb could make for a truly rotten day on Wall Street.)

MLK tried to bolster his credibility by pretending to be an ally of people with much better claim to being oppressed than MLK’s “community” ever had.

  5. It’s hard to get over the fact that #MLK was a worse abuser for longer than P Diddy.

It’s also very hard to have any respect for the people fawning over his memory, knowing what a dirtbag he was.

But mostly it’s appalling that the media covered for him for so long, and still do now that he’s taking his dirt-nap. We really can’t hate the media enough.
