You won’t hear me defend Bezos, but he isn’t the problem. Uncontrolled immigration is, and the bending of the rules to get commercial driver’s licenses in their hands. I have one of those, drove a tractor trailer summers while in university. Years ago, it took a written test, a road test, a medical and eye exam to get a license, and the company you worked for ensured competence, they cared about safety. Here in NS 3/4 of the drivers are now jeets, and most shouldn’t drive bicycles. They (federal government) are giving wage subsidies to companies that hire them.
I used to trust trucks to act safely, now I try to give them the widest berth I can on the highway.

Having lived in a 3rd world county, I can tell you that they would have loaded the container on the chassis and delivered it to ultimate destination.
