    I wonder, how long it will take before a Canadian folk singer, like a Gordon Lightfoot, will write and sing a folk song commemorating 16 dead hockey players in Saskatchewan? Both Canada and the U.S. have paid many a price beyond measure, due to that theory.

    1. You won’t hear me defend Bezos, but he isn’t the problem. Uncontrolled immigration is, and the bending of the rules to get commercial driver’s licenses in their hands. I have one of those, drove a tractor trailer summers while in university. Years ago, it took a written test, a road test, a medical and eye exam to get a license, and the company you worked for ensured competence, they cared about safety. Here in NS 3/4 of the drivers are now jeets, and most shouldn’t drive bicycles. They (federal government) are giving wage subsidies to companies that hire them.
      I used to trust trucks to act safely, now I try to give them the widest berth I can on the highway.

I would just like to thank SDA for doing this immense public service of late by posting these videos because I had absolutely no idea whatsoever about these Dirka Dirkas in the trucking industry. I had just automatically assumed that every trucker on the highway was a “good ole boy” like Jerry Reed in Smokey and the Bandit and knew what the hell he was doing behind the wheel.

  7. Having lived in a 3rd world county, I can tell you that they would have loaded the container on the chassis and delivered it to ultimate destination.
    Hence his question about fix it was really a question about load it. Not fix the trailer. The dispatcher will be puzzled by the picture of the bent chassis. It is bent – so what – it can still be loaded and used.

    Sure, at some level they know they’re incompetent, but there are too many others who have set them up for failure and catastrophe.
    I blame Everyone who had a hand in letting them become operators, from the politicians to the regulators and owners.
    They’re the real enemy and they need to pay the price.

  9. When the dispatcher receives the photos of the trailer chassis, she’ll want to know why the tow company refused to set the container back on it. “There not a ting wrong wit it!” she’ll scream, “I call my (Lieberal) MP now!”
