Kathy Hochul, the Grinch

Remember the old line about Democrats being “the party of the people”? Well, when push comes to shove, they clearly are not. In what is clearly a “very bad look”, New York Governor Kathy Hochul will not extend the federal policy of no tax on tips to state level taxes.

Here are the other states following Hochul’s lead: California, Illinois, Maine, New York, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Hawaii, plus the District of Columbia. 3 guesses what all of these places have in common! But Democrats help working people, right?! Uh huh.

  1. Typical Blue-State fiscal model… When budget shortfalls arise and you have to cut spending, make sure that what is cut will have the most negative effects on the tax-paying middle class. NEVER cut those “special” programs that are near and dear to that small but vocal political base who support homeless encampments on city sidewalks over fixing failing infrastructure, or no-cash bail over protecting their citizens from violent recidivist criminals.

  2. This is another example of why I am tired of the USA laughing at Canada and Europe.
Don’t get me wrong. I deplore the state of Canada and Europe for all the reasons we all know.
BUT. The USA of MAGA has ALL the same shite going on, and in some states, even worse.
    This is a WESTERN issue.
    Crusades 2.0 anyone??

  3. Seems to be an odd re-election strategy. Oh, who am I kidding..they will all still vote blue and the Democrats know it. Kinda like Central Canadian Liberals.
