National Post- The push to have Canadians hear a ‘slavery’ acknowledgement at public events
After a standard land acknowledgement mentioning the various First Nations whose traditional territories overlap with the City of Toronto, attendees were also asked to acknowledge “those who were brought here involuntarily; particularly those brought to these lands as a result of the Trans-Atlantic slave trade and slavery.”

I acknowledge that slavery was invented by Africans.
And North American natives and Muslims.
The root word of slave is Slav, as many people from this area were enslaved in the middle ages, so they are including white slaves in this speech, too, right? Right??
They were first enslaved by the Greeks in classical times, which is where they got the name. They were indeed also enslaved by the Turks in the middle ages, but that was just to keep in practice.
I acknowledge that slavery never existed in Canada, since the British crown made it illegal starting in 1806. Before the French and British arrived, slavery and slaughter were practiced on a fairly regular basis by those who were already here. Where is their repentance for the sins of their ancestors? Waiting….waiting.
Since a lot of this acknowledgment seems to originate from Toronto, I acknowledge that Olivia Chow’s ancestors drove the so called First Nations from their true traditional lands.
Somewhat later her ancestors went on a murderous rampage over much of Asia.
Recently her ancestors killed 36 million (or more) during the famine which was part of their socialist Great Leap Forward.

I acknowledge that the best thing to ever happen to the modern day African diaspora was their ancestors given an all expense paid transatlantic cruise to the New World centuries ago. Imagine living on that s hole continent today!
… but they would still be wearing their coats of many colors … and dancing in the dirt … and living close to nature … piercing and painting their faces … and warring against neighboring tribes. The lives they were ripped away from.
And keeping old infirm lions happy. Humans are easier to catch than regular prey.
FILTHY LIBERALS
I will not sit silently any longer. I sat through this demeaning cultlike prayer at a kids Dance Recital. I will interrupt it. …….Maybe The Lords Prayer, or Hail Mary. LOUD and PROUD
WHITE GUILT TANK HAS BEEN DRAINED BY YEARS OF ABUSE FROM OUR MARXIST ISLAMO SCUMBAGS IN OTTAWA
LIBERALS ARE FILTHY
Now do Genghis Kahn … and the Ottoman (Muslim) empire. Yawn.
Don’t forget to do ancient Egypt and the Hebrew slaves, and also the Roman Empire and its Greek, Celt and sundry other slaves.
Heh,Alberta and Saskatchewan have no “Unceded Land”..Zero.
What a perfect time to pull out of this shithole and leave the Canadian Apartheid System, the victim industry and the parasitic overload to fight amongst themselves.
If we are going to use the “We were here first” rules..then we shall be celebrating slavery..
And of course “Might is right”,otherwise known as “Me wants,we takes”.
Actually we could come up with some real inspiring “Acknowledgements of Slavery”, citing real historical events..Like the Spanish Vessel attacked and burned,Vancouver Island ,the Brits rescued some of the few survivors from the local band..
And Potlatches will naturally all be enhanced by the butchery of a few slaves..right?
Same with the Eastern Liars,Good old Joseph Brant..needed them black slaves did he?
So every descendant of slave owners needs to pay?
Liberals,NDP and Indians first.
Alberta and Saskatchewan have no “unceded land.” Manitoba has none either. Almost all of Ontario and the NWT have been ceded. BC worked on the assumption that the native people were conquered and the BC government assumed continuity. This worked until the Supreme Court pulled a nonexistent law out of their asses saying that despite the obvious conquest the land was never ceded.
Since the British had apparently already banned slavery 33 years *before* the creation of Canada, who is this ‘acknowledgement’ really aimed at?
Ridiculous. The American would go nuts if you tried this down there at one of their Memorial Day ceremonies….why don’t we?
Oh Fred … I’m so, so, sorry for your lack of scholarship. Aren’t you familiar with the 1619 project? It applies to Canada territory as well. You racist!
It was the BRITISH who brought slaves to North America … your progenitors.
/silly sarc.
Shouldn’t have had to but I did look it up just now, to be certain I wasn’t losing hold of my faculties
I think it was Portuguese slave traders who brought the slaves to Brasil, and Spanish slave traders brought them to Cuba and the northern South American states, the French brought slaves to Haiti, and I think the Dominican Republic should be continuously building their fence higher and more secure, with armed sentries stationed every 100 meters.
As a person of 3 generations removed from being actually a Polish citizen in Poland, I’ve looked but haven’t found any Polish folks to request reparations from that distant past, and thusly decline our current overseers request/demand to note a debt to those of you’s who may harbor an ancient guilt… Further, I do object to sending aid of any type to Haiti, our perennial western hemisphere basket case, and submit the idea that it be “kept as currently is” so as to stand as a beacon of “what not to do” as a country, a warning to others… and a lesson.
As a casual stamp collector I am familiar with “The Overrun Country Series” … which was about the Axis Powers Overrunning during/before WWII.

Yeah … Poland is right up there
The slavers who sold, then brought africans to the americas didn’t have traps set up in the forests to catch them. It wasn’t “leg hold traps” or holes dug with grass laid about on top to conceal the hole …
The slaves were raised, bought, and sold, by the north africans who were muslims, it is still acceptable practice according to their pedophile founder’s books, and a simple comparison to the drug trade always blames the trafficker and not the consumer.
So, start there.
It’s covered somewhat in this book:
“A Crime So Monstrous” E. Benjamin Skinner

I’m 100% sure that if you dig far enough, anyone & everyone on Planet Earth can find multiple instances where their ancestors were oppressed and/or royally screwed over by somebody else. Big F’ing deal! That’s life; get over it. It’s part of human evolution, which makes it part of what it means to be human. And because we’re literally all in the same boat, nobody really gives a rat’s ass about how oppressed your ancestors (or anyone else’s) were. Welcome to the club. I’m positive that my ancestors (and everyone else’s) were just as oppressed as yours; the only difference is that good people don’t piss & moan about it and try to milk it for sympathy. And if the truth hurts your wittle feewings, and/or traumatizes you, tough shit! Deal with it, and stop being pissed off at everyone else for it. Nobody you know ever owned any slaves, and nobody you know ever took anyone else’s land; and you never had to pick any cotton, and you were never forced to walk the ‘Trail of Tears’. So you can just STFU, because nobody owes you shit!
Here’s what’s important: We can’t change the past, but we can all influence the future. So starting today, starting right now, right this second, everyone just do your best for yourself & your family, and try not to be a dick. And if we all do that, the world will be a much better place.
But at the same time, also recognize that your Canadian “leaders” (not) are pushing divisiveness distract you and to gain & hold onto power. Don’t fall for it! This is just smoke & mirrors to distract you from what’s really important. So reject this hateful, divisive rhetoric and call your Canadian “leaders” (not) out publicly for trying to distract you from the real issues.
I live near Gettysburg. The Yanks fought an awful war to get rid of slavery, which was left to us by the Brits before we threw out the Brits. The local battle is still fascinating to people from all over the world. Casualties for Gettysburg rival those of Waterloo and the first day of The Somme.
The Yanks also fought long and hard, spending vast fortunes, to ride our country of racism after our Civil War.
So cut us some slack.
Lets face it – most of the reserve Indians are slaves to the bottle, unemployment…and handouts from whitey.
The Indians who have businesses and/or work jobs and contribute to society don’t need an acknowledgement, they have self-esteem and pride and they’re probably happy.
But I could be wrong.
The many that I had/have the privilege of working with, are very happy, well adjusted, good friends also.
We should acknowledge the Canadian taxpayers as slaves to the indigenous nobility, their lawyers, and bureaucrats and the SCOC all contributing to the grievance industry on behalf of the nobility maintaining and protecting apartheid while keeping herd on their serfs living on the reserves.
Slavery in the civilized world was opposed by:
White, Christian, Men. The most memorable one, was also a Republican.
A Republican may have been the chief opposition in the USA, but more credit should be given to Wm. Wilberforce, who spent his entire adult life pressuring the British Parliament until they capitulated. 1833.
all 17 of them? you would think there would be a memorial plaque listing there names or something by now.
Ontario outlawed slavery in1793 about 10 years after first significant white settlement. Shortly thereafter court decisions in Quebec and Nova Scotia (included New Brunswick) outlawed slavery. Slavery was gone from Canada long before the rest of the empire. What slavery there was was mostly black servants of refugees from the US. These didn’t last long.
