    1. On a motorbike trip from Calgary to Tofino it was Meatloaf’s Bat Out of Hell and lots of Creedence.

  1. Just a couple weeks ago, we drove past Chipping Norton Recording Studio in Oxfordshire, where Baker Street was recorded, during our visit to the Cotswold area, 1.5hrs west of London. It was also the studio where Radiohead recorded Creep.
Also, drove past Jeremy Clarkson’s new pub as seen in Season #3, just as you enter the protected area of the Cotswold.

  2. We’ve had XM since mid-21 and haven’t looked back. The rare time I listen to terrestrial radio, usually in the 1Ton, it’s awful. Too much talk talk, ads and CanCon crap. Even the US stations are crap with music breaks between the ad programming.
I take my XM everywhere, including day long cycle rides.
Pro Tip: NEVER pay the full posted rate for service. Always express your concern about the invoice annually on renewal. They always back off, as they’ve gotta keep customers numbers up.
    $13/month well spent.
And yes, Stern sux, never listen to that charlatan

    1. If you listen to XM for any length of time on a single channel, one can tell how horribly repetitive it is. We used to listen to it at work and you could tell what hour of the day it was by how many times you’ve heard the same song, that day, like +/- 5 min accuracy..!

Agree, it’s still better than regular radio.
If you can find someone who is selling a head unit with a lifetime subscription, that’s one way to save money on subscriptions and can be transferred to another unit for $35 fee.
Many good, working units and some that require slight repair, are thrown out, if your recycler allows them to be scavenged, you can get a lifetime subscription imbued unit for free, as long as the previous owner doesn’t cancel that unit off their account. most don’t and it’s easy to find another unit.

Only suckers pay for commercial media, in this day and age..

      1. I agree with the wisecrsck on suckers and commercial media. My wife and I cut the cable a few months ago, bought a Roku attachment, and discovered a new world of of ad-free and sharply-reduced ad TV. We have Netflix and that’s it. I discovered YouTube news channels, where conservative media fills us in with news censored by the corporate media. It is a breath of fresh air.

      2. Yes,there is repetition on single channels.
Just like playing a CD over and over.
There are many channels though to indulge in, some for longer periods, some short.
A little Elvis here, a little Beatles there, then over to some different versions of Country Twang for awhile, new and old.
Like a restaurant, there’s a lot of different cuisine to partake in.
Still beats the hell out of terrestrial ad radio with music breaks.

    2. We have SiriusXM Symphony Hall playing all day long at home. Best background music for this retired old fart’s life.

    3. I go further than your approach. I like the service but am unwilling to pay ridiculous % increases upon each annual subscription date. So I’m fully prepared to back away and not use their service. This results in a series of phone calls about once a week, each with a successively lower rate. I’m currently paying US$4.35 each month.

      1. Yes, that’s the ultimate low rate for sure.
It’s a small menu for that, and can suffice one’s tastes.
I choose a little more, but take the same strategy to keep things low.
Sirius is fighting declining numbers, lost to Spotify and other competitors, and that no one listens to Stern anymore.
