We Don’t Need No Flaming Sparky Cars

Make us buy them harder, daddy: Cabinet is far short of its target to build electric auto charging stations despite more than a billion in subsidies, says a federal audit. The report warned even if successful there was “no evidence” that financing a national network at taxpayers’ expense would lower emissions: ‘Government involvement is necessary to address market failure.’

  1. An honest question for those outdoor EV chargers up there in the great white north … are the window defrosters operable while charging the vehicle? The passenger heaters? What happens when charging in a snowstorm, or below zero temps?

And if operating these systems during recharging … how much time does that add to the charging cycle?

    1. Kenji the EV remains on while charging and all systems are operational.
Obviously the more juice u burn while charging the slower the charge to full will be.
So u can stay warm and keep the windows defrosted and run the wipers etc

I would never own an EV in Canada …. as my son loves to joke “electric cars are California vehicles” …. we get too many days (weeks) of -25 C when it is colder than a witches tit and exposed flesh is frozen in minutes …. perfect skiing weather 😉 Ha Ha my dad used to joke “we get 9 months of winter & 3 months of poor sledding”.

      1. Better skiing than here in CA where all we get is the Sierra cement. Heavy wet snow that freezes to a lovely iced surface.
