    Shooting Christians in prayer in Texas should be some type of last straw, tipping point, wake-up call, but nope.

  3. The article on Tylenol is pretty balanced. It would be unethical to do an RCT to determine the effect of Tylenol on a foetus. They have to rely on the kind of studies that are available. I don’t think the authorities had any choice but to raise public awareness. That said, I think RFK and Battacharia should have taken the lead.

  4. So who is running the BC Ferries corporation?
    Perhaps that question should have been asked immediately when the contract for the new ferries was awarded??
    How many ferry designers and builders could have been gainfully employed in the Land of the Fleeced doing what they do best while paying taxes and “living” in that same land.
    We have been led to believe that the NDPs are the government of the working man!
    Really??
    It is never to late to turn crap like this around but does anyone have the balls to do so?
    We shall find out!
    That chirese cash may be just too big to turn down for those that had their bank accounts fattened up prior to awarding the contracts eh!!

    1. Ottawa knew about this thing long before it broke. Freeland faked surprise and dismay. Something is deeply rotten here.

      And yet, what would be the cost in the end to have a Canadian shipyard build those ferries? We all know what happens with government contracts when unions are involved: cost-plus, overruns, delays, and so on. Just look at the TMX pipeline mess: a ~$13 billion job that cost taxpayers ~$33 billion and took far too long.

      We get screwed either way. We too soon forget that an awful lot of jobs went overseas 40 years ago because labour got far too expensive here and companies could not compete with manufacturers in other countries. Our highways used to be covered with Fords and Chevs and Dodges until Toyota and Mazda and Datsun (NIssan) and VW and many others showed us what they could build for much less.
