This misrepresentation needs to be addressed. Particularly in urban areas the DA and their staff will purposefully drop charges or plead down severity for one specific reason. They want to get the illegal immigrant out of the street before ICE can issue a detention order (which are routinely ignored by city DA’s as well). As a result of this behavior, the crime statistics are skewed, and massaged to reflect the outcome Senator Murphy is touting.
This, also, happens in Canada, and is admitted openly. I recall a post on this site about a month ago specifically noting such an occurrence in BC.
In short, the open borders proponents will turn themselves into pretzels trying to make this case while simultaneously ignoring how the removal of over 2 Million illegal immigrants has visibly lowered the crime rate nationwide. Additionally, they are just as quick to defend known offenders and fight their removal even AFTER someone is documented committing a violent crime or trafficking. Over 600,000 of these illegal immigrants had criminal records even BEFORE they showed up in the US. A significant number of them coming here to avoid prosecution.
Legal immigrants are not illegal migrants are not illegal aliens committing other, including violent crimes.
Collectivists conflate, censor, coerce and codify falsehoods where “our democracy” is one party rule and “fascist authoritarianism” is returning power to the people and their elected representatives through the consent of the governed, not voters lied to, with promises and platforms just cynical ways to fool just enough of the electorate.
