      1. I should have said “Tim Walz playlist” because of the Indigo girls.

        Or maybe “Troon Tunes”

Even Zeppelin is only on there because
One, it’s the only “rock” band a redditor can name and two- the trannies love Robert Plant for his “naked children are beautiful art” phase.
Minnesota church shooter had a Robert plant look going.

          1. That image was absolutely perfect here as well.
I have this thought of a rolled jeep with ducks flying everywhere.

      2. “Lists put together by kids born in the 1990’s are just silly.”

Because most of them believe that nothing important happened before they were born.

      3. Where’s Cliffs of Dover?

No Eric Johnson and Cliffs of Dover, it ain’t The List. And where’s Eric Clapton? And where’s Yes? Or Frankie Goes To Hollywood? Or Bowie? Annie Lennox? (Annie is gettin’ old. She’s two years older than me. Holy crap, dude.)

Come on, Zoomers. You can do better. Subaru Forester with rainbow ducks, he called it.

  1. 20 Gems, not “perfect” but a rounded selection of “fazed hits and no cookies”…

        1. I have a Kris Kristofferson blind spot … but I keep being AMAZED when exposed to many of his tremendous songs

    1. My preference tend to be songs that tell a story.

      Examples:

      Taxi by Harry Chapin
The City of New Orleans by Steve Goodman
Mr. Bojangles by Jerry Jeff Walker
Diamonds and Rust by Joan Baez
Same Old Lang Syne by Dan Fogelberg

      And, yes:

Canadian Railroad Trilogy by Gordon Lightfoot

Having said that, my favorite group is Supertramp, followed by—so many others.

      1. Every time my most admired vinyl producer … Analogue Productions in Salina, KS … produces an lp I love … I get excited.

        https://www.audiophilia.com/reviews/2025/8/1/joan-baez-diamonds-rustanalogue-productions-45-rpm-all-analog-vinyl-reissue-2025

They have now issued Diamonds and Rust … and yes, I’ve ordered it. It’s pretty much my only foray into nasty lefty Baez’s music … but her voice is world class and the lp is really well done.

Huh? You and I agree about two things … Diamonds and Rust and Supertramp. Praise Christ!

  2. To me Al Stewart’s 1976 Year of the Cat is musical perfection: lyrics – “she comes out of the sun in a silk dress running like a watercolor in the rain – piano intro, strings, acoustic guitar, electric guitar and a haunting sax. Perfection.

    1. Year of the Cat is great, I would equate it with Baker Street by Gerry Rafferty and have a hard time choosing which is better.
A song that scores higher to my ears is More Than a Feeling by Boston. Rick Beato’s analysis of the song’s elements was way more interesting than I expected.

  3. Britney Spears and Taylor Swift ?
What, no Sugar, sugar by the Archies? Utter nonsense. Of course what does one expect when “Anal- Thunder69” is consulted.
Apologies to members of Procol Harum and Pink Floyd…maybe in the next life.

    1. I think the BBC is more worried that their lavish taxpayer-funded gravy train with those beautiful biscuit wheels is going to wheeze to a stop soon.

Does England -need- a national broadcaster that lies, and says #Charlie was asking for it? Does Canada need one?

You could build a nuclear sub every year with their budget. We don’t have any of those.

    1. No one has ever taken West seriously. He’s just occasionally used as a prop on Fox to demonstrate how genuinely unhinged the left is.

  4. “I’m finding it kinda hard to care about the right engaging in cancel culture when the left has moved on to assassination culture.”

I was remiss in not including representation from The Who, Pink Floyd, Jeff Beck, or the Beatles

Jeff Beck Hammerhead / Nessun Dorma live at Crossroads
The Who, the entire 4 song set at the concert for 9/11 … or Live at Leeds if you’re a bit older
Pink, the entire Dark Side of the Moon
Beatles, much of Sgt. Pepper album but also the studio “Come Together” which George Martin and Ringo both said was their favorite Beatles recording and John said, “I’m singing it pretty well”
Michael Jackson live Billy Jean in Munich 1997
Prince at Super Bowl 2007 Miami in the rain just pissing on him and Purple Rain
and nothing from Canada? ok, BTO “Let it Ride” original studio or decades later live at the Roseland Ballroom

Rick Beato’s interview with George Benson …
For years, Rick Beato has been deconstructing some of the garbage being released as “songs” and it’s been an eyeopener especially some of the insight into things usually missed, I’m not a fan of songs written by committee or those who find it impossible to sing live without autotune or having it remixed for months in studio… I’d rather hear it live if it’s recorded well, the live versions I’ve cited above I thought are superior to studio versions, there’s a real chance that AI is going to do to real music what it has done for resumes and short stories … that is, turn it all to crapola of the 9th order.
