11 Replies to “New Governor, Same As The Old Governor”

  1. When the Government is the financial source, the media learns to think like the government.

“We” is now the Government and the MSM, group-think is on full display.

  2. Of course they do.
This is part and parcel of plausible denial.
If it’s good news, credit is attributed to the individual that needs some credit to keep the narrative alive. In this case that Carney is far superior to managing government than anyone else.
If it’s bad news, it’s attributed to the sprawling nameless faceless bureaucracy of “Ottawa”.
Same modus is modified depending on the jurisdiction.
    Examples
Ontario good news -“Doug Ford” bad news “Queens Park”
Toronto good news -“Olivia Chow” bad news “City Hall”

  3. FILTHY LIBERALS

    Filthy Boomers elected them.
Don’t be like a Childish Crab in the Bucket Boomer Loser.
Eliminate ALL Filthy Liberals and Big WORLD PROBLEMS DISSAPPEAR..
    FILTHY LIBERALS

  4. 1985 Globe and Mail Sports – “Carney brilliant in Harvard goaltending debut with 5-1 win over Cornell”

“Weak defence allows 5 goals in last minute of play as Harvard loses to Yale”

I read the other day the Globe and Mail’s Thomson twins are worth a mind blowing $98Billion… with no end in sight. And given their hyper aversion for publicity…that’s something they’d rather not read anywhere. I have no axe to grind with the wealthy, but I think about that from time to time after a lecture by one of G&M’s social justice scribes.

    1. That’s funny that it’s a 30-year trend.

Having said that, it’s probably normal in sports journalism to single out strong players in a specific contest, but not blame anyone in particular for bad team performances.

  5. L – The tactic isn’t working, I’m feeling embarrassed by both Canada and Ottawa these days.
In fact so embarrassed, I’m thinking of referring to myself as a Saskatchewanian and looking forward to a Republic of Western Canada passport.

    1. What took so long? And, with respect, you shouldn’t want to get out because of embarrassment, you should want to get out because the bastards have been screwing us over since 19 and 5.

  6. This country is at North Korean levels of media propaganda.
No word uttered by any media here is without taint by government funding.
    This won’t end well.
There is no plan to pay back any deficits.
Liberals put party above country. Look at their unrepentance over their actions that clearly damage the country. Party above people.
The Thomson are worth 98 Billion thanks to government subsidies. Awesome. Where do we get ours?
    Spit.

  7. They Brand negatively and positively.
I remember when Mike Harris was Poohbah of Ontario, the Lefty scumbags (CBC) did their branding as per Liberal dictate and always said the “Harris Government” this, the “Harris Government” that.
    Samey-same with Harper.
Rarely would they use their first names.
But with the Flamer as PM, it was often “the Justin Trudeau Government”.
The Liberal Ratfck Patrol is always spewing agitprop.
Every word used or not used is extremely important to them.
Because it works on Dumb-as-post sheeple and they are legion.

  8. Here in CA … ‘Sacramento’ … is redistricting Congressional Districts to wipe out the the last (R) Rep. in CA.

  9. The Globe and Mail has become such a mouthpiece for Carney, the paper surprises even me. For example, two columnists, one day apart, wrote pieces endorsing Carney’s about face on “elbows up”:

    https://www.theglobeandmail.com/business/commentary/article-mark-carney-had-no-choice-but-to-go-elbows-down-all-our-allies-already/

    https://www.theglobeandmail.com/opinion/article-carneys-reciprocal-tariff-retreat-might-seem-like-a-betrayal-but-it/

Any normal editor would have refused to publish two consecutive opinion columns on the same topic saying the same thing. And any columnists ought to be reading what others have to say before writing the same thing. And the two offending columnists, Robyn Urback and Tony Keller, are considered to be the only political centrists among the columnists. All others are center left or far left.

The bootlikicking of the governing Liberals has become embarrassing. DM.

(under a paywall but don’t bother reading the drivel).
