5. 100% expect a referendum to be held on the question of separation.
   We don’t know how this will unfold in the coming few months, it’s not unexpected, we should never underestimate their treachery, they’ve been at it for quite some time.
   You might say they’re experts at this sort of thing.

   Tamara Lich and Chris Barber will face sentencing in about 7 weeks. For now I think they’re both spending some time in the woods, not the Atlantic Canada woods but woods nonetheless. Where more people should be just a little bit more often.
   The trial, makes a proper mockery of Canada’s garbage justice system, and I expect the AB justice system has the potential to be mocked as well.
   My daughter too, was in Waterton National Park for the past week, testing my noisy MSR stove and sleeping in an actual tent.

   What will the result be when the 500 Billion in investment that was driven away comes in?

7. I read the WS publication this morning. There is little doubt that the economics are in favor of independence/affiliation for Alberta and Saskatchewan with the US. The real question will not be feasibility, it will be whether there is enough in favor ( currently about 25%) to sway the undecided (about 40%) and put up with the 35% who are masochistically aligned to the current situation. There is little to move the latter segment intellectually (they are mentally challenged emotional idiots). Malcolm Gladwell’s two books, The Tipping Point and The Revenge of the Tipping explore the science behind social epidemics and how small changes can lead to large-scale transformations. As someone who wants significant changes to Alberta/Saskatchewan I will be satisfied with small positive steps to the end goal rather than a giant leap that fails in spectacular fashion.

   1. Not sure about percentages in polls. Lately, there have been some showing much higher in favor. Of course, there are some showing lower favorability. It depends greatly on who asks, how it is asked and where it is asked.

      I do believe that there are many in that “mushy” area that are fed up, angry, tired, etc. but are: a> don’t want to say anything, b> can’t conceive of a way forward or how it would work, c> too busy living regular lives or d> are comfortable in their misery (better the devil you know, same as b. The US declaration of independence mentioned this very fact)

      As canaduh devolves further; the death of the auto industry, the death of steel, the death of forestry, rampant spending, ever increasing deficits and the resultant debt servicing cost, the continual flooding of immigration from incompatible cultures and the protection of Quebec dairy at ALL COST!!! It will be imperative that good quality information be widely distributed to start to move the complacent from their reverie.

      As for the adamantly, I am canadian no matter what, elbows up moron, there will be no swaying them. I think you will find that they come from a certain set: those that are wholly and completely dependent upon government, at all levels, be it for employment, welfare, pension, graft etc. Good riddance to them.

8. Speaking of separation, how do you get rid of the communists and socialists that are rampant in both provinces? There are 17 cowboys in Alberta and 23 farmers in Saskatchewan. Probably generating 80% of the GDP but still. The rest are grifters. The grift is strong.

9. Well,if you have not already seen the Uni-Party of Can Ahh Duh,Western Separation should bring them into sharp focus.
   Trump will offer the West a shortcut,to statehood,because that serves the interests of the USA better than an independent nation controlling the natural resources of the west.
   And it serves his image,uniting the lower 48 with Alaska would be “Huge”.however he says it.
   And that is easily a much better deal for us than Canada is providing.

   Does it serve Westerners interests?
   I say mostly.
   Especially Constitutional rights and Freedoms and Equality before the law.
   And we are lazy bastards..
   If Ottawa was not actively destroying our past,present and future,this discussion would not even be happening.

   Financial reality is what drives the division.
