There was a time in the not so distant past when it would have been seen as contrary to the dignity of a head of government to make themselves available to be photographed with sex fetishists. This event crystallizes a longer term process of subversion that has over time eroded away that prior understanding of appropriate boundaries. I remember way back when they first claimed to have found the ‘gay gene’. The story vanished quickly…so quickly, in fact, that I began to wonder if the LGB community suddenly realized that if there actually *was* a gay gene, prospective parents could fairly easily test for it in the womb and choose to terminate the pregnancy.

Not sure I completely agree. I have personal anecdotal evidence that makes me wonder:
I myself am not gay and have never had any such inclination. But growing up I had a nagging feeling that my mother’s brother, (a Catholic priest) was gay. Now I’ve been married twice, and I have three boys, (two by my first wife and one by my second). My sons grew up pretty much like I did, playing little league sports and camping with the Boy Scouts. And I never thought much about a ‘gay gene’ until two of my sons (one by each wife) revealed in high school / college that they were gay. So after having two sons by two different women turn out to be gay, I couldn’t help but wonder if I’m a carrier of some ‘gay gene’ that was passed down through my mother’s side of the family. That’s my two cents worth on the issue.
Or … your sons fell prey to a cultural mind virus. It’s not as though those sorts of mind viruses aren’t running rampant.

PS … I had 3-kids. 2 of which are a parents dream … 1 of whom presented as bi-polar with schizophrenia in college and ended up taking his own life. The proper drugs actually FIXED his brain chemistry and made him function as a rational, loving, intelligent young man … the wrong drugs? They unleashed the “voices” that told him to destroy himself
