Trumpanoia.
“…the fear of tariff-imposed price increases are a lot more than actual tariff-related price increases…”
It’s the economy stupid.
Careful. Build houses and eastern Canada will move there.
Beat me to it.
Already happening, most of the houses that have sold in my neighbourhood were to either Ontario or BC, and they will be bringing their regressive voting policies with them.
A friend who works in construction, sent me a photo the other day of two “new Canadian” workers on the job site, working on a roof, the ladder couldn’t fit in the area they wanted to work on, so one was holding the ladder up, while the other climbed up on it to work! This is on top of a roofed surface, with the top end of the ladder unsupported!
As an Albertan, I continue to be horrified by the housing construction. Way in the long-distant past, this would have been good news. It would have implied a booming economy and an influx of workers looking to make a life for themselves here with their families.
But for decades now, it is simply a response to the government programs importing millions of third world low/no skill immigrants. Each new immigrant is another massive wealth transfer from actual productive Canadians to Canadians of convenience working in McJobs, if they work at all. As well as future immigrants pretending to be their relatives.
Watto, really?
If what you are saying is true, then Alberta successes are not real.
I lived in Alberta for 35 years and, all things considered, it is a region that gets er done.
I say so in comparison to BC, where I retired and marvel at the rapid development in Kelowna.
I ramble, but just want to throw out a challenge to what you say is driving the development.
For an example, I see tradesmen with kids building and living in new homes, that is. Canadians NOT of convenience, but rather those with conviction, trucks, kids , dogs, and friendly attitudes.
I say hello to them every day. Just saying.
Exactly.
It’s how you make a Shithole.
You can’t separate while blessing mass migration of 3rd world beach shitters.
What a joke: “Hey everybody! We’re committing cultural and financial suicide just like those eastern Nihilists.”
Here…watch this:
The average cost of a home in Ontario is around $852,036
The average cost of a home in Alberta is around $525,119.
😀 The issue can be corrected if you require more regulations and taxation on Alberta homes. Throw in a $10,000 soil sample test, and increased permit fees…and you’re golden. EQUALITY EQUITY….Yayyyyyyyy!
Even at current exchange rates why are Alberta houses so expensive?
Demand, one of the few places left, that isn’t a shithole, but is rapidly becoming one!
