$100 Million in Donations for California Fire Victims Getting Dumped into Lefty Nonprofits:
In the wake of the California wildfires that displaced thousands of Angelinos from their homes, celebrities did what celebrities do: put on a concert to raise money for the victims.
It was a huge production and raised $100 million that people assumed would go to the victims of the fires or help them get back on their feet. Everybody felt good about themselves, and artists got some nice publicity for “donating” an evening of their lives.
A good time was had by all, except, of course, the supposed beneficiaries of the concert’s fundraising. It turns out that they were never the intended beneficiaries. A bunch of nonprofits–many with no relation to the fire or its victims–are raking in the dough.
People who run non-profits for their profit are pretty much the lowest scum in the Grifter scum bucket.
“California Volunteers” got a pile of that money, per the following excerpt:
There is a 25-member Board of Commissioners for CalVolunteers, appointed by the Governor. The first lady Jennifer Siebel Newsom serves as the honorary chair.
During the first round of grants, $50 million was distributed in February 2025. More than 120 nonprofit organizations received money. In a FireAid press release it noted that “This initial phase of gifting prioritizes community-based organizations that are on the front lines of wildfire relief.”
“This initial phase of GRIFTING…” FIFY
How else can “ethnic studies” graduates find work?
I was digging around in the Annenberg Foundation just yesterday. They were the entity that was tasked with distributing the $100 Million + to assist the fire victims. Annenberg is primarily focused on educational programming, and its efforts have also included environmental stewardship, social justice, and animal welfare.
The first thing I noticed is that they don’t provide any specific details on the non-profits they generally use. In fact, there is a specific article (supposed to be a status) on the funding application for the Palisades fire victims. They have a link within the article (This money went to 12 nonprofits). However, when you follow the link it just goes to a page showing music producers like Will. I. Am. and their personal foundations…which raises all kinds of questions. 😀
I’m going to guess that Annenberg Foundation is better described as a grant depot that targets Federal Grants, and then repackages them to non-profits of varying Leftist causes. IOW, the first stop on all that USAID and EPA grant nonsense.
The only documented proof of any of the LA Fire Aid money going towards the fire was $1 Million to a fire company for equipment. The other 99%….who knows.
To Live and Die in LA.
Equipment is of no use in the absence of water.
Unburdened by the past, socialists take another whack at the Capitalist piñata.
California is on a clear path to homing the homeless, and unhoming the wealthy and successful. It remains to be seen how many previous residents of the ash heap formerly known as Pacific Palisades will come to their senses and decamp for Red States. The exit of former sources of tax revenue from the state should (deservingly) prove devastating.
