Bargains Galore

In an economy overloaded with exponentially growing debt, vendors actually have very little pricing power. If they try to raise prices the marginal consumer will just say no. What they can do, however, is lower their asking price, and that’s exactly what’s happening. It’s either that or fold the tent.

IKEA announced on Tuesday it’s cutting its restaurant prices in half for adults and children eat free from Monday to Friday.

  1. Buy used, bargain, trade, barter.
Grow your own food, support local markets. Make your meals. Pick berries.
Yeah. I’m retired. Life is good.
My newest vehicle is 2011. The wife’s is 2018.
Our house is 113 yrs young.
    Don’t need anything from Ikea.

    1. Brilliant.
Loving my 15 year old loan-free Lexus and just rolled up 6,000 miles of vacation trips on it in June. In 20 days on the road I ate only two meals at restaurants.
Every other meal was assembled, IKEA-style, in my hotel rooms.

  2. IKEA stores in Canada, Austria, China, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, South Korea, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom are included in the promotion.

    Canadians…. Start – your – priceguns.
…..and while you’re discounting your exports, (or folding your tents) stick a price on Alberta, Saskatchewan, N.W. and Yukon Territories.
They’re gonna need to sell you to stay in power.

  3. Good news as been holding off buying lingonberries until the Swedes lowered their tariffs on “my people’s berries”.

In a related story … FED Chief Jerry Powell refuses to lower the punishing interest rates in America until he analyzes the impact of Trump’s tariffs on inflation. Yes, we are being ruled-over by stupid people.

    1. Powell is the most politically motivated Fed Chair we have ever had. That the Fed employs 24,000 people in order to hose the economy is beyond comprehension. I wish Trump would just disband it. Maybe we could get a Billion back for the ridiculous HQ that is being updated to the tune of $2.5 billion, which is more than Buffalo is spending on a complete new pro football stadium.
